I called this gym to ask if they offered a free trial. The owner confirmed I could come in and start a 7-day trial immediately. When I arrived, an employee had me fill out paperwork and provide my card information. I trained that day and returned once more, but the experience was disappointing -- no coaching, no feedback, and overcrowded classes where you could barely move. I'm new to boxing and received zero instruction from any of the coaches during either visit.
I decided to cancel before the end of the 7-day trial. When I called the owner, he instantly became defensive and claimed I'd signed a 12-month contract. When I reminded him he promised a trial, he said he was "on a roof" and hung up on me. He later admitted that his employee shouldn't have signed me up for a membership and said he would refund me. I provided my name as he requested, but he never issued the refund and stopped responding to my messages.
As for the facility itself, it was unclean and overcrowded. The floors were covered in sweat, shoes and clothes were piled in the hallway, and the air was stifling. Safety seemed like an afterthought -- I even had to buy used hand wraps from an employee because no one had a key to the new ones.
In the end, I was charged for a "free trial" that offered no training, no professionalism, and no respect. I've had to dispute the charge with my bank. I would strongly recommend finding another gym that values honesty, cleanliness, and actual instruction. read more
