We hired Forever Marble to fabricate and install countertops in our newly built kitchen - a $17,070…read moreproject paid to Forever Marble, including materials, fabrication and installation. They have botched the project with multiple issues ranging from (1) shoddy fabrication rendering our sink unusable, (2) measurement errors leading to inconsistencies in the overhang throughout the kitchen, (3) careless installation causing minor damage to our cabinets, and (4) most disturbingly, deceitfully concealing a significant break in the stone by sealing it and not letting us know about the coverup, which would become apparent later. Specifically, Ben and his team from Forever Marble were scheduled to install ONLY the island countertop on a Saturday (Aug. 14th ) and therefore our contractors prepped ONLY the island for installation the day before (Aug. 13th ). However, on Aug. 14th , Ben and his team came to our residence and insisted on installing BOTH the island countertop (aka the black & white stone) and periphery countertop (aka the black stone) without prior notice. They said that they would "prep" the area themselves (i.e., remove the plywood and all the plumbing) and install it that day. I told them it was okay to start with the island stone, but to wait on installing the periphery stone until I talked with our contractor to make sure it was okay to install it without his supervision. Ben's team however went ahead and started with the black stone anyway, and said that they were just 'placing it' and it was not final. Ben's crew seemed in a hurry while working, and while they pushed the black stone into place, there was a sound and a collective "oh no" from the crew. They hovered around the stone for a while, and when I inquired, they said that it was "nothing". My husband told Ben that he was not satisfied with how the black stone was sitting on the sink. Ben told him that he would be happy to: 1) replace the stone, 2) give us credit for the damage, or 3) give us the next project for free. Ben never mentioned anything about the wrong place where the faucet hole was located or a crack by the sink (which Ben had tried conceal, which we discovered later, and which was probably caused when Forever Marble's crew yelled out a collective "oh, no!" in their haste to get the install job done hurriedly). Here's the result: The L shaped black stone by the sink has multiple issues and needs to be replaced: 1. There is a significant crack near the sink that has been epoxied in a way that it should not have been. 2. Sink reveal is an issue - the accessories don't slide all the way and get stuck because of the way the countertop is cut around the sink. 3. Main faucet hole is not centered to the window as designed Meanwhile, the black & white island stone is still not placed centered over the island, the overhang is higher on one side and lesser on the other. There is a crack by the sink here as well, which is beyond a "natural fissure." Additionally, the butler's pantry reveal is off, and there's damage to the cabinets. We have tried communicating this to Forever Marble and have received no response, aside from an offer to make a couple of cuts in the black stone and replace the sink area, which is a no go, because we don't want our expensive countertop to be chopped up to 'fix' spot issues. This has been a total nightmare.

I can't say enough about our positive experience with Luis and Steve. After an initial, tenuous…read moreexperience with another stone yard, we were referred to this fabricator. Luis emailed and called me within 24 hours and I was immediately impressed. Not only did he listen to our needs and budget, he took the five minutes (that the half dozen other fabricators I visited didn't take) to realize that it's a small kitchen by looking at our layout. He recommended a solution to fit both our needs and his -- to use a remnant, at a better price. We visited within two days and placed a deposit on the spot after a great meeting with Luis and Steve. These young men are committed to their new business and it shows. They committed to our template first thing Monday, and understanding the urgency of our timeline, turned around the installation by this afternoon. Communication was frequent and professional. At no point did I feel like we got a leftover (though we selected a remnant) or that we were rushed (instead we were made a priority). Both Luis and Steve went over and above multiple times during this project, and I find that exceptional at a time when we seem to be making excuses for quality service or product. Steve and his helper with skilled with installation, and he took great pride in his work. Our renovation has been months of a very frustrating roller coaster. It's a passion project for my husband, and he wants it to be a quality product when we're finished. It's been a rough road with some disappointments, but this isn't one of them. Genuinely, working with Luis and Steve has been one of the highlights. I wish I had another project I could partner with them again. Maybe a winning lottery ticket will let our paths cross again? Until then, the best thing I can do is continue to refer them to other contacts to help them grow their business (we already referred them to two realtors since). Good luck guys!

The employees at Matteo Family Kitchens are extremely helpful and patient, my wife primarily deals with Steave Matteo and no matter how many times she calls, texts or emails him, he always is pleasant when he responds. Matteos has remodeled our Kitchen, Master Bathroom and now we are getting our upstairs hallway bathroom remodeled. However, management coordination, communications, cabinet ordering, and scheduling is as unprofessional as it gets. The Matteo's work crews were extremely slow, sometimes even argumentative, very lazy, and they worked only half days most of the time. We were told the project would take about 3 weeks. Being frustrated, and disappointed, we asked, if there would be any compensation. But, I was told that "things happen", "our contact was based on competition not time". "And just enjoy your new bathroom" A horrible overall experience! If you are planning a project in your home. I definitely would not recommend Matteo Family Kitchens and Flooring Inc.

Kevin showed up for the estimate when he said he would, and had the estimate out to me promptly. His price was fair, so we set a date for the install, and he was there when he said he would be. He and his helper were friendly and professional through the process and took extra steps to protect our house during the work - putting down many drop cloths, taping up vents and cabinets during demolition. He kept us informed of the progress and the end result was spectacular! We would definitely use him again for our tiling needs.

Trust me. If you want to know more, read on.... I was introduced to Love Tile and Marble through a claim with my home owner's insurance. Kevin and his team were sent out as sub-contractors for the tile repair. The insurance company paired us with a project manager to handle all aspects of the demolition and re-building of our two bathrooms. Long story short - we had a terrible experience with that project manager, and their other sub-contractors (the electrician, plumber, etc). The ONLY positive experience we had through the entire process was with Love Tile and Marble. Their workmanship was superior. They showed professionalism. And just as important, they showed respect for my home. These guys put down canvas to protect my hardwood floors and wiped their boots on the mat before they came in. It may seem like small gestures. But, through the 3 months of hellish renovations and dozens of contractors in and out of my home, the respectful ones stand out. After choosing my new floor tile, Kevin made suggestions on the pattern because of the imperfections in the tile (1/3 pattern, as opposed to the 1/2 pattern I originally wanted). I agreed with his suggestion and the floors came out beautifully! We also hired him again for other work, since we were so happy with his previous work. Bottom line - Kevin and his team are utterly fantastic. Fair and reasonable prices for top quality workmanship (which I can personally attest - is tough to find these days).
