I've gone to countless escape rooms and must say this one is either the worst or second worst. The game masters are just pot heads that get off seeing the customers frustrated... like any room you only get three clues and they purposely give half clues. They were unprofessional on the phone (Matthew) and, though their game rooms look nice... it was a crappy experience. I usually return to each escape room until I've finished all their puzzles, but will never return here again. Truly a terrible waste of money during a time when every dollar counts. This place was great! We've done several other escape room places where you either have tiny little rooms and feel claustrophobic, or most of their stuff is broken and doesn't work....but that's not the case at Next Door. Had nothing but great customer service from the entire staff, had nice big rooms with fun scenarios, and everyone enjoyed it all the way down to my seven year old son! And he even was the one that solved the last puzzle to get us out of our room! Will definitely be going back to try the other rooms!! read more

This was my first escape room experience. It was a BLAST and I've thought about it many times since then! The guy who helped us with the hints was friendly and very helpful. We escaped MAYDAY with 3:30 left and wouldn't have been able to without the 3 hints he gave us. I definitely want to return and try the cell block! Thanks for such a great experience with my family - I'll never forget how fun that was! I definitely recommend this escape room to everyone. It's hard (40% success rate) and really makes you think but once you figure it out, you want to throw up your arms and cheer loudly! We did every single time we got something figured out! We tried MayDay. This is different than your normal escape room and we didn't realize it going into it. We were glad we tried it, but likely wouldn't look for an experience like this again. We are used to a mix of mechanical locks and a few magnetic and even some electronic locks. This was all electronic and we left feeling like we weren't sure everything was working correctly. The puzzles weren't intuitive and we felt like we didn't know what we were looking for much of the time. The clues didn't help a lot and sometimes left us with more questions than answers. We ended up using more clues than we were supposed to to "win" and didn't make it out of the room. We have done several rooms together and usually if we don't win it, we are really really close. When the employee came to get us, we asked how close we were and if she could give us a quick rundown of what we missed and she told us we were only about half way and if we were closer she could maybe do that. We were on vacation and won't likely be out that way or try that one again and with a little persistence she shared with us we only had 2 or 3 more things to figure out and we would have completed it... so much for almost half way. One of the puzzles we needed had nothing to point you to it and it was a random pattern you had to follow... I think if you had a 5 year old running around the room playing with things you might have gotten it but not sure how else you would have stumbled on the answer to that one. But then again if you had a 5 year old running around the room you wouldn't want them running around moving things around in an escape room.. kind of a catch 22. One challenge we struggled with a bit... we couldn't get it to work and she finally gave us a hint and we said we were doing exactly that and then magically it seemed to work. It felt like she had to trigger some things remotely to get the game play to advance, whether due to electronics error or just that they had to be manually triggered in the first place I'm not sure, but the delays in response made it hard to know what you did right to get something to happen. We found we really prefer the escape rooms with more physical locks with less room for mechanical/electronic error and a little more to look at in terms of clues/guidance. Everything in this room seemed vague and the room was pretty dark even when some lights were triggered later in play. My husband got frustrated and used the flashlight on his phone a bit because some things were faded from being touched so many times or just hard to see overall... the room was just dark enough it was difficult to decipher colors which at one point we needed to do. read more

Amazing time! Such a great challenge! Lots of laughs. Employees were so friendly and helpful.

The Inventor's workshop room had too many things that weren't working!! Light above map was already lit when we went in and wouldn't shut off. Had to tell person helping us about it. We had correct alpha & numbers plugged in on the one machine and even verified them with person helping but nothing happened. Feel like they had to move us to next step due to equipment not working. The machine at back of 2nd room didn't display the information it was supposed to even though we kept getting it correct and hearing the tune. Person helping us had to give us the answer. When we left we let them know it was very frustrating and disappointing with all the little things not working properly and rather than offer a discount to another room, a free visit for our frustration due to their equipment failure or a partial refund they told us they would get their guy to fix the machines!!! Very poor customer service. read more

My wife and I played two games here. Puzzles are great. Room themes and decor are top notch. Our game master kelly was fantastic.
