It had rained and while these items were kept under covered driveway they still got wet So we're even heavier than normal. The guy who came to pick it all up was beyond amazing. He lifted all of it into his front loader with ease and took all of my very large cardboard leaving my drive way clear. I live in Camarillo springs on a Thursday pick up and I did not catch his name but he was a gentleman and beyond kind. Omg he took such a load off for me. What spectacular customer service.     What is going on lately? I have had to call just about every week the past 2 months…read more I have had missed pick-ups almost every week! I have to call the next day and they say they will have a driver come by and dump. Other houses on my block aren't dealing with this. It's really bizarre. I know they're swapping old bins with the new ones, and ours are finally swapped, but I would have a driver tell me "hey, leave your bin out I will come by and replace it with a new one today!" I leave the bin out, and nothing. This happened with every color bin we had. Just seems like there is some major disorganization. I've always gotten really friendly customer service when I call, which I do appreciate. But.. when we had a trash service in Los Angeles I think I had to call them maybe 1 time in 4 years and it was for a bulky item pick up. Never had them just missing a pick-up on 1 or multiple bins. I don't think I'm alone here, I am just so curious why they're having such an issue with their baseline service...

    If I could give this place zero starts I absolutely would. That's what it deserves…read more First, I'm gonna start off by saying I was standing in line and someone else was let go in front of me when I was already standing in line the SA worker pointed to the next person in line which was me, but I gave it to someone else. But that's not even my main issue. My problem is I had a bag of #2 copper, that I have been gathering for a few months. Weighed it at home before even going to the recycling center and it weighed 21 pound. Wherever this worker was, a SA employee, put up my items on the scale and weighed them at 3 pounds total which ultimately came out to $11 total which is an absolute rip off, disrespectful and an absolutely a punch in the face for my time and totally unacceptable to get ripped off. Damn to top it all off. The two employees were looking at me and staring as I walked back to my car like that isn't already obvious and I'm trying to figure out what is it they have against me? This is a waste of my time and my money. Why would someone want to rip off someone off? It doesn't interfere with the employee earnings. Oh and by the way, but these employees, saw my bucket of copper and told me before putting my copper on the scale that anything over $20. I'll have to wait 4 days to get payout bs. what a coincidence, now all of a sudden it only weighs 3 pounds.

I tried to explain to her that it wasn't tin after I had unloaded 240 pounds of stainless steel and iron, and she told me I could reload it and take it apart and come back. This lady was not reasonable and lowballed the load I had hauled across town, only to get a few bucks. I called the SA headquarters to file a complaint and they were just as unreasonable and difficult to work with. I've been going to this place on and off for years, but after this experience, I will take my business elsewhere. I

    2 stars? Are you kidding me?…read more Hell no, EJ Harrison is five stars all damn day. You know I'm gonna tell you why. Let's start with the fact that they now pick up all three receptacles (trash, recycling, garden clippings) each week. No more trying to remember which can to put out every week. That's huge. Now, suppose you need to have something picked up that's too large to fit in your receptacle? If you are a homeowner, Harrison will schedule a special pick up for your extra large item. You get two special pick ups every year. This service covered by your monthly bill. No additional charge. And they have outstanding customer service. You know I'm gonna tell you why. Take this morning, for example. I heard the truck in front of my house at 6:45 am. I had not put my receptacles out yet. I thought, that can't possibly be Harrison, they don't come before 8 am. I went out to see what was going on. By the time I got my shoes on and went outside, the truck was way down the end of the block. What the hell? My next door neighbor and the lady across the street were out in front of their houses too. We all looked at each other, like, what is going on here? I was pissed off! I went back inside, cussing like a sailor. I steamed for about 15 minutes. When I finally cooled off a little, I called the customer service line. And I get a damn recording. Now I'm back to fully steamed. But the recording said if you needed assistance with scheduling a pick up Press 8 for Dispatch. So I pressed 8 and lo and behold, they picked up. It was 7:01 am. I said, Hey, I thought you guys didn't pick up until 8 am? The dispatcher says, No, we start at 7. So I say, well ok, it's 7 am right now, and the truck was here 15 minutes ago. The dispatcher says, Ok, so which receptacle didn't get picked up, the trash? I said, I don't know, the truck was way down the street by the time I got out there. I told the guy my neighbors missed their pickups too. So the dispatcher says, OK, I'll send the truck back by. Just to be sure, he verified my name and address. The truck was back literally within 5 minutes. Tragedy narrowly averted. I was super impressed. Thank you Mr Dispatcher! Here's another reason why EJ Harrison is a 5 Star business: I have rented one of those big rolling dumpsters several times. They're a little pricey to rent, but I appreciate they offer them. Their customer service team makes sure you know not to overfill them and when they need to be out on the curb for pick up. Scheduling drop off and pick up is very easy. And still another reason: After hours, Harrison gives good phone. When there is a holiday and you wonder if your receptacles will be picked up on the regular day, all you have to do is call. They always have the information recorded as part of the greeting; you don't have to wait to ask an agent. And whenever you do need to talk to an agent, they're really helpful. Unlike the customer service agents at almost all other utilities, the people that answer the phones at EJ Harrison are helpful and efficient. The only negative thing I have to say about the company is that their trucks are too got damn loud. Not sure there's a solution for that, though. Trash pickup is a thankless job, but...
