Definitely time for a review for the Eco Store now that we've completed our 3rd project with them!…read more I remember when The Eco Store opened up years ago in Oak View. It was such a pleasure to see so many potential home improvement projects, all in one place, and that all inspired a better way of living at our house. Our first project with the Eco Store was a gray water system to move abundant shower water out to our plants and gardens. That felt so good that we then did a second project with the Eco Store. They created a simple and affordable rain water catchment system that now gives us enough water to completely water all of our plants, gardens, and even our backyard grass areas! Now we've just completed a salt-free whole house home water filtration system that gives us high-quality drinking water throughout our whole house, and allows us to NOT have to dump salt into a tank every month. Working with Erica at the store is always a pleasure. She is super knowledgeable and very helpful. She makes a large variety of household soaps and sells them at the Eco Store. That makes it so we are re-using all of our plastic soap bottles! We've done a lot of home improvements at our house with various contractors. LeVon (owner) cares about your house, provides a professional installation, and seems to know everything about conserving energy and water at your house! Working with him is like having a good friend over your house. But when he leaves, you feel 100% better about your house, and how you are working with nature to support the house and it's water needs. I know they work with electrical needs at your house too... maybe project #4 in the future for us!?!? It is always a pleasure working with The Eco Store! We highly recommend you visit their store, talk with them, and get inspired!

If you want to rent an e-bike to take the bike trail to Ventura pier do not rent from this…read moreplace!!!!!!!! The bikes we rented were the specialized como and the tern gds cargo bike and they had only pedal assist and no throttle which made it very difficult because the bikes would not go if you were not pedaling the entire time, there was barely any power and it was a hard ride compared to other ebikes with throttle and larger amp batteries that I have rented. These bikes are very weak and take a lot of effort to get up the hill back to Ojai. I was riding the tern and it only had one battery which ran out a little over a mile from the shop and we had to push it up the hill and wait in the Vons parking lot until they brought us another battery. In the website it states the bike has long range and talks about duel batteries. When I called and spoke to the shop the repair man assured me it would have enough battery to get back and forth to Ventura, I told them that was my biking intention and I wanted to make sure I would have enough battery. The bike is super heavy and has very low power. Not a bike I would ever recommend. When we asked where the other battery was when we picked it up Kelly said "don't worry you won't need it" and he was pretty dismissive to us, not friendly and seemed bothered by us. My daughter's specialized como also had no throttle and she had only 14% on her battery when she returned the bike. She also turned the battery off when she was coasting downhill to Ventura so if she had keep the battery on she would not have been able to get back to Ojai either. When I returned the bike the owner Tim asked me is I was in eco mode the whole time and I said there is No way you could ride that extremely heavy cumbersome bike in eco mode. He was also very dismissive and basically told me it was my fault the battery ran out. Also we only Ventura pier and came back to Ojai. You should also know they take a $2,000 authorization on your credit card. They never mentioned this until I went to rent the bikes. I would not recommend this shop for a bike rental.

It was a great suggestion. Now I realize that Peach Hills Soils was the way to go from the beginning. What a nice place for quality soil, mulch, landscaping rocks and more. The sign is easy to see from Los Angeles Ave and their lot is all the way down past the nurseries, you'll spot the barn and their office. My rock orders were below their delivery minimums but I was able to arrange pickup. This place is noobie friendly and pro friendly. There are multiple varities of mulch that you can bag yourself. They have a nice selection of river pebbles and huge boulders. Walkable lot, well worth a visit.

~ THE FRIENDLIEST SUPPLY YARD EVER ~…read more As a lady who's 5 feet tall and knows absolutely nothing about construction or landscaping materials, walking into a building supply yard alone was way outside my comfort zone, but the team at Peach Hill Soils made the experience not just easy, but actually enjoyable! I called in advance looking for a specific rock material for a landscaping project. I had no idea what it was called, but after describing it the best I could, Marcus was so kind and patient, he helped me figure out exactly what I was talking about, gave me a rough estimate on how much I'd need, and even priced it out for me over the phone. Super helpful. When I showed up in person, I was greeted with nothing but friendly smiles. Andy helped me right away and walked me over to see the material in person. Not only did he explain the differences between the options, but he even put together a small sample for me to take home. That extra step meant a lot! Placing the order later was just as easy. I called in, gave them my card info, and let them know my landscaper would be picking it up at will call - done and done. No hassle, no confusion. Whether you're a contractor or just a homeowner trying to figure things out like me, this team is awesome. They're knowledgeable, kind, and truly make you feel welcome. I'll absolutely be coming back! *TIP: If it's your first time at the location, drive all the way in past the piles of material, you'll find a small office on the right. That's where you find the staff!
