As a 33 year old who never got their wisdom teeth removed, I was starting to have complications. My Dentist, Michelle Eng, recommended this office and their staff. I booked a consultation and was in within a week of calling. The girls in the front desk are sooooo nice. They answer all questions very politely and not condescending at all. Sometimes at medical offices, it's intimidating to ask questions but this team made me feel so comfortable from the start. Now come the day of the surgery, I was nervous as I was being put under. I explained that to the team but they made me feel very secure and that hey would do anything in their power to make sure I would be fine. I woke up from anesthesia and was not in as much pain as I thought I would be. I didn't bruise and I only got a little swollen. This team and Dr K. Really did a great job. Like most I have a massive dentist phobia. My first appointment for a consult was so good. The check in process was easy staff was friendly. I thank my lucky stars my ENT Dr. at UCI recommended Dr. Vivian Jui. During my consultation Dr. Jui explained in detail how she would approach the surgery which greatly eased my apprehension. I was having two enormous tori (bone growth), which covered the roof of my mouth, removed. Dr. Jui's idea of making a stent to protect the roof of my mouth after surgery was brilliant, and worked well. The surgery could not have gone better, and the aftermath was much less painful than I'd feared. I went to Newport Oral Surgery off of Sand Canyon for a wisdom tooth removal. I felt like the experience was great! Dr. Kalantari was my oral surgeon and he was extremely knowledgeable and patient. He answered all of my questions and concerns as well as addressed some other related issues I was worried about. He made me feel like he genuinely cared about my comfort level which is very rare in the medical field where most doctors are rather cold and distracted. Dr. Jui was recommended by several friends and the orthodontist my kids see. She extracted 4 wisdom teeth from my daughter. The consultation was great. She told us everything we needed to know. She sent us home wth RX to fill and a info sheet on what to expect and how to be prepared. The day of the surgery was easy. I recently just got my wisdom teeth pulled and Vivian did a wonderful job. The staff is so nice and really make you feel comfortable. I really hate when it comes to the dentist or having to work on my teeth. She had a concern about a tooth. It grew into the nerve and she said it could maybe be damaged. She insured me that the risk was very small and even followed up multiple times after. I had really bad pain still, 6 days after the surgery. I was concerned so I called. HORRIBLE WITH TMJ! Don't go to see her about your TMJ issue. She has no idea what she is doing. She will actually REFER you to another doctor (Dr. Guichet) who doesn't take insurance, so you have to pay out of pocket. The fact that she REFERS you to another person already shows you that she doesn't know TMJ. I asked her to make me a splint since it was covered under my insurance. She argued with me and said I should have Dr. Guichet make it for me (cost would be up to 3,000). She FINALLY consented after many talks (I don't know why it was so hard for her to just say yes and do her job- which her website SAYS she does TMJ treatment). She made me a splint and it was okay but not helpful. She doesn't seem confident nor helpful in dealing with TMJ. DON'T GO TO HER FOR TMJ. don't waste your time. Also, you ALWAYS have to wait over 30 minutes even after you're called INTO rooms, so I always come late 15-20 minutes. The receptionist will make comments that you come late but just let him know that you always are SEEN late consistently, so what's the point. read more

Now that I am all healed, I felt the need to write about Dr. Jui. I had been putting off getting my wisdom teeth for years because my dentist told me that they were impacted and that its going to be pretty painful.. why would my freaking dentist tell me that!? anyway I finally found courage and started looking for an oral surgeon.. first place to look: YELP! I dont know if I shoudl be embarassed that I found my oral surgeon on yelp.. but then again I also found my primary dr. and chiro on yelp as well hahah i know i know Ive been told, stop treating yelp like it is the end all of knowledge.. but hey its worked for me so far. anyhoo, went in for my consult and they have those 360 xrays so you dont have any xray stuff being stuffed in your mouth the old fashioned way.. those xrays hurt! this 360 machine that makes sounds similar to an icecream truck was awesome and painless!! Dr. Jui made me feel at ease and spending 5 min with her you already realize how capable she is.. I knew I was in good hands. I got 3 wisdom teeth out, 2 of which were impacted and the surgery went smoothly. I fell asleep and woke up lookin a mess cuz i was still high off the sedation and then my lovely bf took pics of me in that state.. but thats another story.. the conclusion is.. yes the healing process was long and painful( which couldnt be helped) but the surgery was very easy and its finally off my checklist of things to do. yay Dr. Jui and yay yelp! =D read more

Doctor Jui is GREAT! She seems to be a very knowledgeable and capable doctor. (Think doctor Yang from Grey's Anatomy =)) I had my wisdom teeth pulled here. I came in first for a consult, and she goes over your x-rays with you and explains to you the different options for your procedure depending on how your teeth have grown in, etc. I felt my experience was very well done, I had no problems with my teeth or mouth after getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled. Be careful about pre-paying for services here. My insurance ended up covering the majority of the cost for a procedure and the office refused to reimburse the full amount due back to me. They claimed that an adult relative owed them money and they held back the amount from my reimbursement. I tried to contact the office numerous times. I realize I'm not the easiest patient since I get nervous, but everyone here has made my experience comforting and non-judgmental. Yesterday, I finally had my wisdom teeth removed (Irvine location) and from start to finish I've felt beyond taken care of. One of the techs wheeled me to our car and made an extra trip back to bring me my ice pack/head wrap since we forgot to grab it before leaving. I even called Dr. Jui today on her cell (after office hours) and she made herself available to answer my questions about medication. Today marks less than 24 hours post surgery and to my surprise, I've had minimal pain/swelling in my face despite an impacted tooth that required bone drilling. This goes to show that Dr. Jui is truly an expert in this field and has extreme hand precision in her practice! By far the best doctor I've had. I had an urgent appointment set up for last week, arrived in time to finish paperwork etc. leaving my cancer patients in order to do so. I was left waiting for over and hour without an explanation from anyone even though I had inquired. Exam rooms are old and lacking anything to do, Clinic feels old and unclean. I just sat there, waiting. Finally I got up to leave and they then tried to tell me they had an Emergency. With my jaw in major pain, I felt mine was urgent as well. Staff is unprofessional and do not adequately explain insurance, etc. As a Director of a Clinic - I know how patients should be treated. Look elsewhere! read more

The staff here is professional and super friendly. I was recommended here by my dentist to get 4 wisdom teeth pulled because of the relatively cheap price (compared to other oral surgeons). Dr. Jui came in to see me, had a brief conversation with me about my life, etc and then went on to tell me about my options. I was very comfortable the whole time and my insurance wanted to preauthorize the procedure before anything could happen. About 3 weeks after the consultation, I got a call from the office telling me everything was preauthorized. So I'm sitting here with my droopy bottom jaw, and ice-packed head gear, all drugged up on pain-killers and antibiotics, thinking that today didn't go bad at all. The best oral surgeon ever.... My purpose of visit : Extraction of Impacted Wisdom teeth I was amazed that after an extraction I have no pain ... I started to work after 3 hours. My mouth can open and I can eat semi solid foods... I earlier had an extraction of my other wisdom teeth not to mention I did not enjoy any such great freedoms....I think that Dr. Jui has a very good hand at work and she did an awesome extraction...
