Wild Bills was recommended to me and the rental and floating experience was seamless. I rented a kayak for the 10 mile float. It was late June and the water was perfect and the float was scenic. John provided a bronco busting bus ride to the river. The people at the shop were friendly and helpful. Kayak rental was $69 plus tax. But they do provide a 30 minute bus ride to the drop off to save you the trouble of running cars.

The man behind the counter told us that we may have to, drag our canoe through a couple of spots but no big deal. After setting up camp in Buffalo point campground and actually taking a look at the river and seeing people come off the river, everyone was dragging canoes and Buffalo point, most of the river was just simply ankle deep, we would've had to drag a canoe for miles through slippery rocks to get to the destination for pick up. So one of two things happened, the owners of wild Bill outfitter do not know the river conditions or they did not tell us the truth. So unfortunate. Needless to say, we did not show up the next morning bright and early to rent anything. I felt like I dodged a $100 bullet of frustration by not renting from these people. And I would not recommend wild bills outfitter for river conditions, information, go look for yourself.

It's so charming and felts like a luxury adult lodge/resort/summer camp. The big open communal spaces are fantastic - the living room, which also includes rustic picnic benches for dining & the big open kitchen has huge, dual refrigerators and lots of prep space. They have every kitchen accessory that you could need. I love that they have coffee at every entrance and in different locations around the hotel. Great hosts who provide lots of local dining and activity information. Commercial hotel is a must if you're staying in or around the Cotter and White river or Buffalo River area! Or just make a stop over and make sure you take a tour of big Springs Park, a dip in the swimming hole or a walk across the bridge or breakfast at the Sands. Great kayaking and fishing are minutes away.

They are nicely updated and they've thought of everything, from the provided bed and bath linens to comfortable seating areas and the beautiful screened porches. Their private swim dock is nestled in a little cove, making it great for swimming and fishing without worrying about boat traffic. The view of the lake is unbeatable and the sunrises are unforgettable. 101 boat dock is a hop, skip and jump away making it super convenient to dock your own boat or rent one of theirs. This is our third time staying at the Wagon Wheel and it gets better every single time! We can't wait to come back and "Unreel at the Wagon Wheel" again!

The office staff was super understanding and gave us a full refund for the remainder of our stay. They had an awesome bar and, in the next building over, a nice recreational area with a pool table, fireplace and several other game options. We did misunderstand that the bar had some limited food options. All in all we decided the wording on their website was just as little confusing regarding the food options and about boat rentals (as opposed to guided fish trips). But if we had not been wanting the pool option on this trip, this was a really nice place and we would definitely consider returning!

The Bayou Resort is a great place to stay. The rooms are clean but are not overly modern they have all the ammenities that you need to stay for a few day. The kitchenettes have pots & pans, plates & flatware. The resort is almost a stones throw from Norfork lake so you can be in or on the water in about 5-10 minutes. The resort also has a pool if you don't feel like going down to the lake or if you just need to have a change of pace. We have been coming here for 5 years and have always had a good experience. So if you need a place close to the lake you could do alot worse than staying at the Bayou Resort.
