The manager is very responsive if there are any issues, we've only had one issue and he handled it perfectly. I have ate here many times and today was just awful. I got half of the Steakhouse salad and a cup of the lobster and crab bisque. The steak on the salad tasted very old and was so overcooked. And the soup had a very strange taste to it. I'm not happy because that was a premium salad and I had to pay extra for it and I couldn't even hardly eat it. It was so disgusting. My daughter also got a cup of the lobster and crab bisque and she barely ate hers as well because it was just not good. The flavor of it was very strange. We frequently eat at Newks! We had a small issue with one of the kitchen staff being very rude when I kindly requested something for my meal. Joey the manager came to our table, sat down and listened to the concerns regarding the poor interaction with the staff member. He stepped away to address the issue then came back and kindly took care of our ticket and assured this would not happen again. I understand people have bad days and I believe that's what was going on with the employee. I just was blown away by how this was handled in a respectable way by Joey. We will definitely be back only because of how management handled this situation. Disappointing visit. When we come to NWA, we look forward to dining here. After this trip, not anymore. Ordered half sandwich/salad as shown on the menu on the wall. Could not order the combination I wanted because the buttons on the computer won't allow this. Really? So change your sign--no, corporate won't allow that. So the evil corporate overlords did it and we're not creative enough to figure out a work around so the customer can be served. Love Newk's. I always get the portabella sandwich, and it bangs every time. Their cake slices are also great, although you can't really finish them in one sitting. Cashier clearly didn't want to be there, but the main reason I subtracted a star is because I absolutely HATE that they don't have regular-sized cups. This use to be one of my go to lunch spots. However the quality of the food and staff have declined over the last year. The portions definitely don't reflect with the price you are paying. Most times my order has been messed up and they feel no need to fix it. My last visit I ordered a shrimp po boy and they put two smell pieces of shrimp on the entire sandwich! When I asked about it because it was very dry the response was that's the way it's made. The bread was old and hard to where I couldn't even eat it. Definitely not a good experience. The lobster bisque that someone else ordered was cold. Again staff didn't find anything wrong with these issues. read more

Per Preston's request (rather than making it right for me,the CUSTOMER/PATRON/PERSON THAT PROVIDES BUSINESS AND PROFITS TO THE BUSINESS/ by either refunding me for a completely terrible experience or giving me a credit for a future meal which hopefully would be a better experience , I am submitting this review. We ordered the sandwich/soup pair of French dip and lobster bisque. When it came to our table, I first couldn't help but notice how small the sandwich was. It looked like something I could have gotten in cold section of Walmart for $5.95. Then, I noticed how rust-colored the lobster bisque was. I tasted it, and all I could taste was the flavor of burnt butter. Absolutely disgusting. So I took it back to exchange it for the tomato basil soup, which had a better taste. Then I started eating the French dip. And all I could taste was a thick layer of stoneground mustard that, upon each bite, oozed out onto my hands and napkin. I have had many French dips in my lifetime, but this was the first one that I have ever had that came with mustard. I have heard of Dijon mustard being part of the au jus, but not being put on the sandwich itself, and then having SO MYCH mustard that all you taste IS mustard. As in HORSERADISH-based mustard. So, after a few bites of the sandwich, and not having any of the soup,we decided that we would leave and go somewhere else, like Jason's Deli (which DOES NOT put mustard on their French dip. When my wife brought the remaining unfinished half of the sandwich and soup to request a refund (she actually informed them that by refunding us the $20 I would not leave a bad review), Preston, the assistant manager told her that the menu says that there is mustard on the sandwich, and to go ahead and leave the review. Preston should not be representing anything and should go back to washing dishes or taking out the trash rather than be put in a position of leadership. He is simply unfit for the job. He could have made this right (don't forget that it wasn't just the sandwich that was the problem, it was also the quality or lack thereof, and also the soup which had to be returned and the dissatisfaction of PAYING CUSTOMERS that will no doubt make sure others know just how awful this place is) by simply refunding us for the mishap. But instead, he chose to further insult us by not doing anything that could have resolved the issues we experienced, resulting in complete loss of future business or recommendations. So we left and drove down to Jason's Deli in Fayetteville and got an actual French dip made the correct way (NO MUSTARD) with bread that actually looks freshly baked (which is also another reason not to eat at Newks!). AND Jason's Deli has management character as well as an inviting dining room, unlike Newks, which could double for a hospital cafeteria setting. read more

Coming from California, I've been on a tour of all the places I've never heard of before and on that list was Newk's! My husband and I came here for lunch it was such a fun choice! They have serval different options. My husband got the pizza and I got a salad with a bowl of soup. It was a little pricey ($28). But it was so yummy I didn't care that much. My husband has seen people bringing this food to work and they have a whole to go section in the front of the store which he will definitely be hitting up. My only complaint is that the person helping us literally seemed like he could fall asleep at any moment while helping us. It made it hard to order with him because I wasn't sure what he was saying or if he was going to just pass out right there in front of me. But other that, it was an amazing experience. read more
