A beautiful restaurant and wonderful customer service. The interior is very elegant and I would…read moreconsider using it for an event in the future if possible. Parking was not the easiest. I got the last space, but I couldn't see if overflow parking was available. The appetisers were very good and beautifully presented. The duck that my friend had looked wonderful. Our main courses were very good. The cod was lovely and the steaks were nice. My steak was a little fatty and I found the gristle very chewy on the end piece. I also like my triple cooked chips a little more crispy, but that's just my taste. The desserts were lovely and again beautifully presented. The ginger cake with chocolate mousse and the ganache plate were particularly good. The table next to us has the beef wellington and I would definitely order that if I went again. It looked phenomenal! Overall a lovely experience.

This restaurant excels at everything it seems..what a delight!…read more - Beautiful indoor and outdoor seating - Perfect service, attentive but not too much - Small thoughtful extras - Excellent food - Very well priced Came in for lunch. Had the 3 course lunch menu for £38 (what a steal!). Lamb belly for starter was delicious, well seasoned and put together dish. Mains I tried the pork collar which was very good but the house made black pudding was phenomenal, best I have ever had..inventively spiced, wish I could buy a kilo to take home. Dessert was fig leaf panna cotta, light and flavoursome. Had a coffee with dessert which was also excellent. Its very clear that they try to do everything to the best standard possible. Wish I lived closer.

Took a gamble that turned out to be SO spot on, I have to write about it. We were on our way down…read moreto Highclere Castle in Newbury and this was one of the food establishments that came up on both Yelp and Google. The reviews appeared to be good on both but sometimes you just never know with reviews. However, this time I'm happy to report that both sites were correct. Bill's was absolutely busy when we stepped in for a late breakfast/early lunch timeframe. We were greeted promptly and sat at a table for two. To our delight, we were able to order from both the breakfast or lunch menus, so that is what we did. My husband got the full breakfast and I got chicken entree with vegetables. Service was attentive and prompt. It shows that they are a good chain restaurant because of the care and organization that is evident in how they run their establishment. Decor is comfortable and interesting and I was glad to see servers working hard - not just standing around. While we don't come down this way to Newbury often, if we ever do again (and we may to go to Winchester Cathedral) we'll probably make Bill's our stop and go to for good food. A paid car park is around the block and close by so no worries on parking either.
