I was confused because she said my back muscles were too tense to reach the spots she needed, and felt that she ignored my mentioned target areas to spend a large part of her time on my extremities. Her technique is abnormal, instead of slow deep movements like my last deep massage, she does a lot of shaking and dropping of your limbs. This was to 'loosen' me up. I admit that I'm tense, but that was why I was getting a deep tissue massage. In actuality, I feel like the tissue of my back was hardly touched and I felt guilty for coming in so tense, as she repeatedly told me that I was not relaxing when I was trying my absolute hardest, and said that I was causing her pain by coming so tense. The guilt trip was rough- I've never felt at fault for arriving tense to a deep tissue massage before. If this is her method of deep tissue massage that's her prerogative but I do wish it had been advertised in such a way as I left feeling a bit battered and with none of the knots in my back addressed much at all. I'm a college student so this was a big spend and I wish I had known she had such unusual methods.

I called prior and asked about the wait time, was told to come in 30 minutes. Came in 30 minutes…read morelater and was told to wait twenty minutes. Completely understandable for walking in without an appointment. One lady was waiting when I walked in. Asked for stiletto French tip and a new full set so I would need a soak off. The total was going to be 82. That was fine with me because it was for my wedding so there was no budget. They sat me in the back in the corner even though there were open seats in the front. They never offered to soak my nails or even asked what I wanted until I asked. My nails still never got soaked off or even looked at. As a black woman, this already rubbed me the wrong way but I shook it off because I was excited to get my nails done. I watched people come and go and even the lady that came in after me was seated and started her nails. An older lady that had no appointment (that came in 30 minutes after me) was invited to soak her nails off. I sat there for 40+ minutes waiting and no one even showed any effort to provide me with a service. As the only black person in the shop, this feeling of being completely ignored felt intentional. At the end of the day, women of all races love getting their nails done and feeling pretty, this process shouldn't have been so impossible.
