Clermont, Florida. I see Jarred…read more I go in every six months due to skin cancer, and they are incredibly thorough and professional. Several spots caught early, which has made a huge difference. I trust them completely and highly recommend them.

Front desk is supposed to give you a half piece of paper saying to add three numbers to your phone…read morecontact for them to receive medical information. They don't do it. Why three different phone numbers? This is the only medical practice that does that. If not added, these calls show as spam. If you don't answer spam, you won't learn that what was removed was malignant, which is IMPORTANT. After two months, they will THEN send an email and a message about malignancy. They do not leave a voice mail when calling, although it was noted in the records that one was left, reviewing voice messages that go back a few years, none were left. They say they give this info sheet out to ensure patients get the message, but they are not given out. They reject the idea of a sign on or near the wall where the giant tv that everyone looks at while waiting is not an efficient way to get that message out, that handing that paper out is preferable. Nonsense. I've been her three times, wife five-NEVER GIVEN THE PAPER. That's 100% failure rate. They speak of the patient portal. They email new patients about it. NEVER DONE. But a sign where people look the entire time waiting is inefficient.

THIS REVIEW IS ONLY FOR THE WOMAN BEHIND THE DESK IN DAVENPORT!…read more I have been going to Dr Rotman in Sebring (1 hour away) for years and then I found out they had an office in Davenport and I was thrilled to only have to drive 30 minutes. I live on the East side of Lake WalesDr Rotman introduced me to his colleague Dr Chris, I believe. He is delightful. On my 2nd appointment I (very embarrassed)had to ask if I could mail in my $10 copay at the end of the month. The woman behind the desk was very nasty and made me 100 times more embarrassed than I already was. At the Sebring office they always wanted to bill me. But I usually paid on the spot. We are going through a tough time which should improve by sometime next month. It's the first time this has ever happened to us. I will go back in November when I have another appointment. But I will be sure that Dr Rotman knows how a long time patient was treated. The 3 stars are only for the nasty woman behind the desk in Davenport. 5 stars***** for Dr Rotman and Dr Chris

A DISTRESSING EXPERIENCE. THINK TWICE BEFORE GOING HERE…read more I went to American Dermatology Institute simply to have a beauty mark on my leg examined. The spot itself was fine. However, because I have sensitive skin, I was experiencing an allergic reaction that day. I explained to the dermatologist that I have dealt with these allergies since childhood whenever I am exposed to certain allergens. I also explained that I had undergone biopsies in the past and that the results had been negative. Despite this explanation, the dermatologist repeatedly insisted on performing biopsies. What concerns me most is that I never explicitly consented to these procedures. When the staff asked me about them, I remained silent, yet the dermatologist confirmed to the nurse that they would proceed. I was then asked to sign on a tablet without being given a proper opportunity to read and understand what I was signing. The experience became even more distressing when the dermatologist made statements such as, "We need to think about the worst possible scenario going on with your skin." I had already explained my history of allergies and previous negative biopsy results. Instead of leaving the appointment feeling reassured that my concerns had been properly evaluated, I left feeling extremely anxious, frightened, and emotionally distressed. When the laboratory results finally came back, the findings were negative for the conditions tested. I understand that medical tests sometimes are necessary, and negative results do not automatically mean that a procedure was unjustified. However, this does not change my concerns about how these procedures were communicated, whether I had actually consented to them, and the way the entire experience affected me. And then came the financial shock: approximately $1,400 in additional charges, on top of the $190 I had already paid. To make matters worse, I was told I would need to pay another $90 for a follow-up appointment to remove the stitch from a procedure for which I believed I had already paid. My concerns are not simply about receiving negative results. They are about the entire patient experience, the lack of meaningful consent I experienced, the fear-inducing communication, and the financial burden that followed. Patients are not just sources of revenue. We deserve transparent communication, the opportunity to understand what we are signing, informed consent before undergoing medical procedures, and compassionate treatment that does not leave us unnecessarily frightened about our health. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this facility. If you are considering visiting American Dermatology Institute, ask questions, make sure you understand every proposed procedure, read every document before signing, and clarify the costs in advance. I left this office anxious and distressed, and I am now dealing with a substantial bill that I did not expect. This experience has seriously damaged my trust in this practice.
