Breaking in less than 24 hours.

I haven't had my builder gel extensions for even 24 hours as they are breaking off. I mentioned at the time of service that the apex wasn't built up - the nails were flat - they did nothing. This cost me $65. They said I could come back for a new full set but you can see from the pictures that my nails are filed down to nothing and I don't want the nails ripped out damaging my natural nail further. The nail art leaves something to be desired as well since I paid extra for it.

I got an hour long pedicure and massage along with a gel color fake nails with Lisa. She is the best nail artist I've ever had the pleasure to be with; her quality of work is phenomenal. The massage and pedicure was incredibly relaxing and I got to pick out which scent was used. I will absolutely be coming back for not only the service but the atmosphere as well was amazing, quiet and clean.

Went here over a year ago, experience was ok. Decided to try again bc my place was booked up. Yikes! Never again, he told me acrylic takes to long and I should do dip (where I work the chemicals eat away at the dip nail powder too fast so that's why I don't like it) After that he said ok and had someone cut my cuticles, I asked several times for him chill bc he kept cutting me, you can see the dark areas below in the photo. So, he stops we start my nails, everything is fine now. Then came time add the flowers and butterflies he kept dropping them, then told me that's the best he can do bc it's hard. In all honestly the toughness of my nails great! Everything else horrible. The dryness is from me having to use acetone to get the acyclic off that ran down, took a couple of days and the rips on my cuticle are from them cutting me. These photos are from 3 days after my nails got done.

4 day old GEL with acrylic already chipping and falling.

BLACK WOMEN DONT COME HERE !! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!! We are not valued at this establishment. I came to this shop for my second time on 10/02/23 and I would say it was the worst visit I've ever had at a nail shop. I called before hand and ask if the person that did my hands last time was there and the manager I'm assuming said yes. I came in and saw an older gentleman so I said "oh not him the younger one" and I wasss informed he was tied up fr another 20mins. I couldn't wait so I said I'll take whoever is available next and it happened to be that same older gentleman I saw when I came in. Before he sat down he said very rudely "you sure you don't want to wait for the young guy?" I laughed it off and said no thinking he was joking but that was far from it. He proceeded to do my nails in the most hurtful and traumatizing way. He twisted my fingers instead asking me to move my hand, he used the machines to even out the acrylic and burned most of my cuticles (still hurting 2 days later) and then said he couldn't do the simple design I wanted. I tried talking to the manager and he even asked him 3 TIMES why he can't do the design and all he said was "it's too hard I don't want to do it choose something else" I've been getting my nails done for years and not once have I heard I can't do it or not even wanting to attempt to do something close to it. As I'm telling the manager how frustrating I was getting, the manager himself proceeded to walk offf and asked everybody else in the shop if they wanted something to drink BUT ME , I mean in the middle of EVERYTHING! So at that point I knew how I felt was invalid to him and I proceeded to just get regular French tips since a nail tech can't do a basic design. It took him about 40mins max to give me the worst French tip you can imagine and on top of that it was a 2 week fill and they wanted almost 60$!! I left very frustrated and unsatisfied and will not go again. Please save your money Update 10/10/23 Not even a week after I desperately went back for a new set and the set is already chipping and the acrylic broke off in my sleep. I think this establishment is using cheap products and charging market prices still which is a rip off. Gel usually last me 3weeks + and I don't even work with much water anymore lol. Never going here again. Please save your moment.

Service was very high quality and efficient. I recently went for a dipping powder manicure and was pleasantly surprised by how well my nails turned out. Speaking from experience, Tony is very kind and does a fantastic job for a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend!

Ive gone to a lot of nail places and finally found one I will always go back to. There is one guy there who wasn't my favorite. I bruised my finger and it turned my nail purple and I think he thought it was nail polish and he buffed it almost all the way down to the skin. But I found a girl who I always make my appointments with, each time she creates a masterpiece.

Dip layers are uneven.

I went in for a gel polish manicure (my first time here) but ended up with a dip manicure after being upsold. I had to ask repeatedly for the technician to not use a drill on my natural nail. When he used the drill to even out the dip, he cut my cuticles several times. One day later and my manicure is already cracking. Very disappointed with the results and the service. Not worth what I had paid.

First time visiting and I have to say it has been the best experience ever!. Coming from a big city I've had trouble finding someone who can reach my nail expectations and they totally blew me away. Thank you very much for an amazing experience!

Acrylic Gel Manicure

I have been going to this nail salon for almost 3 years and I can't say enough good things about it. Every time I go in, I leave in a good mood and with my nails looking and feeling fantastic. I have very weak and brittle nails due to a medical condition, which requires getting acrylics to prevent further daily breakage and pain of the nails. Therefore it was especially important to me that I found a place that did a consistently good and sanitary job on my nails. I live in Neenah and I tried almost all the nails salons in Appleton, Neenah and Oshkosh and while many of them were good, as soon as I tried New York Nail Bar I didn't want to try anywhere else. The thing that I has kept me coming back to them are the people who work there, the fun environment every time I come in, the great job that each and every technician does and lastly that they have a 2 week guarantee in case your nails chip or break you can come in and get them fixed for free in those 2 weeks(although I've never even had to)! When you go in the salon you'll notice almost all the technicians know almost everyone's name coming through the door and they greet them with an excited hello. Everyone talks together. It's a great friendly environment. Bella mostly does my nails and she is just amazing and the sweetest. She does amazing designs. I also have had Peter, Tina, Jason and Paul and they each have always done a *fantastic* and very thorough job. I've never had them rush and skip steps like I've had at other salons. And lastly Madison who runs the front desk and the phones is exceptional! You couldn't find a nicer, harder working, multi-tasking front desk manager! I honestly don't have any complaints about it here. For the best experience I would suggest calling ahead to make your appointment though. I think any negative feedback comes from walk ins who come and don't realize how consistently busy they are. As long as you call though they'll find a time for you and do a great job. Like I said, I always leave in a good mood and I always leave with my nails looking and feeling great! I highly recommend it.

The nails I asked for on the left, what I actually got on the right.

I'm really sad because I used to go here all the time when I lived in Oshkosh. Since I was visiting from Milwaukee, I called to make an appointment and they got me in right away at 9am. The person who did my nails did a pretty good job (I just got dip on my actual nails) but I asked him to do a design and he reassured me he could do it. HA, he could not at all. He had no idea what he was doing (and yes I should have said something in the shop but I was just so upset). I paid, tipped and left crying. I will not recommend and I will never be back. It's shady that you say you can do a design when indeed you can't just to take the money. Seriously bad taste in my mouth and ruined my whole day.

Worst manicure I've ever had. When I paint my nails at home, the polish lasts longer than this. I called on Wednesday to see if I could have a basic manicure at 6:30, knowing that they close at 7:30. The girl who answered the phone spoke perfect English and was very friendly. I felt optimistic about this little salon. The salon is small, located in a strip mall. The manicure stations in the front section are close together, which I didn't mind, but the staff seemed to be stepping all over each other to get in and out of their stations. There are pedicure stations in the back section. The tools were in a sealed pouch and seemed to be sanitary. My $16 basic manicure included a nice hand/arm massage, and I was surprised to also get a neck/shoulder massage while my nails were drying. Unfortunately, what I was really looking for from my visit was to have my nails shaped and buffed and my cuticles cleaned up, with a bright polish to wrap things up. The first photo is from Thursday morning. I did very little with my hands between my Wednesday evening appointment and going to work on Thursday. The second photo is from Friday morning. The polish is chipping in large chunks, and I can now clearly see rough edges on my thumb and index fingernails, as well as red tender spots on my middle and pinky cuticles. I could forgive chipping polish and redo it at home, but the rest of this is just a mess. I will not return.

Both seemed like they were applying the products properly. But, within 24 hours, a couple of my dip nails were chipped and cracking so I went back and had them fixed by Betsy. I tipped her for her time but the service was complimentary. After another day or two, more nails were popping off completely and chipping still so I went back for a total redo with Hellen. She charged me $25 even after I told her how wrong and unfair that was. I asked her to have a manager call me. She called back and told me I would not be refunded but could have a $25.00 credit with her and her only when I came back. After a few more days, my toes and fingers all looked like complete crap. I've had these services done regularly for many years and have never not had the products last 2-4 weeks at least. Obviously something was really wrong with their products. I called to tell them but never heard back from anyone. Very disappointing. Will not return. New York Nail Bar has been really awesome and highly recommend their salon!

While this transpired, they were talking amongst themselves in their language so I'm not sure if they were talking about me in front of me or what. I still won't go back. I didn't want them to fix my nails because they should've done the service right the first time, there is no excuse for how poorly they turned out.

I really miss how this place used to be run with the old owners. (shout out to Andrew and Vanessa,…read morethey were amazing) i had an appointment today but they started 15 minutes late. that's fine. my dip manicure was okay for the most part, but someone else had to completely re do the top coat at the end, because it was bumpy and uneven and looked like i painted it myself with a goopy top coat. i was moved around a lot. i would sit in a chair and then someone would say wait come sit over here. it was just kind of odd. my pedicure involved ice cold water, cuticles untouched, and still calluses on my feet but i paid for that service. i was never asked what shape i prefer my toenails so they are pretty square. not a huge fan of that. i tried a few times giving this place a shot with the new owners but i just don't plan on returning again.

We had appointments and my girl advised me that we should arrive early, which was a good call. By the time my nails were being painted, all but one of the pedicure chairs were taken and the small waiting area was full! The staff was fine, they would make some small talk but mainly worked steadily, which I appreciated. The massage chairs were nice and the water in the foot bath was blissfully HOT. This is something I love, but I could see how one could find it uncomfortable if they were not into hot water. The woman working with me gave me a foot and calf massage. My feet are wildly sensitive, so fortunately she used enough pressure on them to not make the foot massage tickle torture. My cuticles were in need of some SERIOUS trimming and the woman working with me did a damn fine job in cleaning them up! She applied the shellac polish to my toes first, then we headed over to the nails station so she could take care of my hands. From start to finish, we were in and out in about an hour, hour and a half. A reasonable amount of time since they did not do a rush job. The shop is a decent size, but is packed full with nail stations. The waiting area is pretty much non-existent and unfortunately a bit cluttered and dusty. This shop does get a lot of business and a Shellac mani is $25, Shellac pedi $35. I may have the two mixed up, but those are the prices. This is your standard nail shop! Efficient and thorough! I am going on a week with my Shellac and I am HOOKED! My pedicure looks untouched and my manicure still looks amazing, NO chipping. I get my natural nails painted and have to keep them very short because of my day to day work, but they look gorgeous! Again, NO CHIPPING! If anything, I only notice a slight outgrowth because my nails grow quickly, but that has nothing to do with the polish! Go for it!
