My kite surfing experience with slimkiteschool was incredible, especially for a beginner. I had…read moretaken only two lessons before and had stood on the board for just a brief moment, but Xico speaking French and Portuguese while I spoke English still made everything feel clear, safe, and easy to follow. By the end of my third lesson, he had me confidently riding back and forth. He is such a warm and kind person. I'm so grateful we met. I know I'll always have a friend in Brazil!!

I've got 7 classes and I feel already more confident then dudes somewhere else with much longer experience. That all about a teacher! Glenn was really glad how fast I got changing directions, and let me tell you something, Glenn is an amazing guy! Things what he explains, easy to understand and keep up in a way what he knows will do work for me, and I am pretty sure will work for you with the best results ! As I said he is an excellent teacher with I'm sure enough experience. I am just lucky to meet him. I am already in love with Kitesurfing, and I'm very thankful to him for that! His obsession to the sky, ocean and the wind simply passes to you, and you just wanna be a force nature rider)) My son and me already bought the whole equipment. Well! Not a cheap hobby!))

I also tried to call Tim, the apparent owner of this company, and was blown off two days in a row…read moredue to "lack of wind." That is only believable as an excuse so many times. I eventually never heard back from him again and demanded that groupon refund my money. Someone should look into this guy because it seems like a scam to me. Beware!

I had a terrible experience with Kite Control this past summer. I hope anyone that is looking to…read moretake a lesson with Tim will read this review and reconsider. I have prepaid for 4 hours of lessons, and Tim has failed to fulfill his side of the deal. He still owes me $300 and is unresponsive. We met at Rockaway Beach for an intro lesson which only lasted 1 hour due to poor wind conditions which was fair enough. He seemed like a nice guy and when he asked that I pre-pay for the next lesson I obliged. The lesson that was scheduled for the following week never happened. I tried several times to meet up with him again throughout the summer with no success. Numerous times, appointments were made and cancelled due to "lack of wind," or worse he simply did not show up (when there was wind!). After the third time I made my way out to Rockaway beach only to have Tim cancel on me last minute or go radio silent, I requested a refund. He never got back to me when he said he would and voicemails were left unanswered. I had to call him at least 4 - 5 times to get a response. The last straw was when he claimed to be at the beach checking out the conditions and told me he would get back to me. I took the A train out to Rockaway beach to at least get a few hours in, but it turned out he was lying. He never made it out to the beach that day. Following the refund request, a few half hearted attempts were made and eventually he ceased to return my phone calls or emails. A quick google search for "Tim Nugget" shows a history of similar cases. I.e. requesting sample kites and never returning them or paying for them. This should be fair warning of Tim's character and trustworthiness. Here is a link to a message board where someone seems to have tried to alert future customers. It is a shame that I didn't find this earlier. http://www.ikitesurf.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=16116 I did eventually get my kiteboarding lessons, but in Turks and Caicos with KiteProvo. They were awesome. TL DR: KiteControl will be a waste of your time and money. Tim owes me $300. Please do yourselves a favor and stay away.
