Great park! This is one of our favorite splash pads. The playground/playscape area near the splash…read morepad is on the smaller side, but it's modern and lovely and our toddler has a blast here. There's lots of seating -- benches, picnic tables -- tons of open grass fields, and a newish pavilion that is available for rental. There are ball fields, soccer fields, a basketball court, a larger playground, a covered band shell, and even a disc golf game! Access is a little funky. The park has two sections separated by a wall of trees. The main entrance off of School Street will bring you to the older section of the park with a ballfield, the soccer fields, the bigger of the two playground areas, the basketball courts, and the disc golf. The other side of the park (the newer side, with the splash pad, acres of open fields, volleyball courts, band shell, new pavilion) can be accessed either via a nice path from the School Street parking lot, or from an entirely separate entrance off of Corey Street on the opposite side of the park. The Corey Street entrance is off the beaten path in a neighborhood and it will bring you to a parking lot next to the new pavilion. This is usually where we park to go to the splash pad area. If you're attending something at the band shell, even though the shell is on the new side of the park it is actually closer to the School Street lot so I would go in via School Street and save yourself a walk across the Corey St. fields.

It's a beautiful mountain and resort but be prepared to be spoken to like a toddler by the customer…read moreservice staff. Not sure of his name but one man in particular was extremely condescending, arrogant, and rude. My fiancé lost his chair lift pass after one run and he didn't have the ticket stub so there was no way for them to look it up. Unfortunate situation but it is what it is. The front desk staff led by a Mr. Roger's look-alike handled the situation so poorly. We walked out of the office after being talked over for 3 mins straight and spoken to like we were 5 years old by that guy. This was my first time coming here but I won't be returning. I'd urge the company to make sure their customer service agents are actually willing to serve customers, not belittle them. If that guy wasn't a complete jerk, we probably would have bought another day pass because the conditions were perfect and we really enjoyed the one run we got in.

Kid friendly, great for families and or a warm up mountain. Friendly staff and amenities. Nice restaurants near by. Definitely recommend.

Of note, the parking…read moresituation is a bit unusual so follow the signs (which take precedence over common sense). There were two pavilions in the area and we had the one on the right, but the one on the left was being used by two different groups of people celebrating two different events. I don't know if either or both rented it, or if both showed up at the same time, but it looked like an awkward situation. The pavilion we rented had at least one electrical outlet good for a crock pot or stereo, but don't think there were many more. Next to it was a small barbecue grill that was about 18x24". It was big enough for a family gathering, but it couldn't possibly hold enough food for a crowded pavilion unless they were all eating hot dogs. We tried, and only got about 16 burgers on it at a time. A large garbage can with a bag liner was inside at the corner, but we were told that it was NOT for use by people who rent the pavilion (rental is carry in-carry out) but instead was for use by those who don't rent the pavilion. That must be a mistake as nobody would have such a stupid policy. Nearby was a nice kids playground, and all around us and mixed through the trees was a disc golf course. I should have brought my old Frisbee from college. I was told a creek also ran in the area. Bathrooms were within sight but I never ventured near them. All told, a decent place to rent.

For the most part, the trails are well maintained, although I do think the trail markings/signage could be clearer. I started at the kiosk trail head and the first turnoff for the trail can be easy to miss(in fact, I did.) The initial part of the trail is nice dark gravel, but it veers into a field where the trail is just a mown path and the sign for the turnoff is an unassuming post with orange and green squares on it tucked back into the growth. Also at one point off the blue loop, I ended up in a strange area with farm equipment with a sign posted about private property. So I turned back to the loop. I never even saw how to get to the white or red trails. So what I saw was nice but I'd like to come back and try to find what I missed. Maybe I'm just hopelessly directionally challenged. I did take a picture of the map at the trailhead but still found parts confusing. I saw a fox following the paths several times, which was pretty exciting:) There was a pool, playground and community garden but I didn't really check those out.
