Good massage. Especially for the price. I did an hour for 50$. I asked for someone strong and got a lovely woman who did every area i requested. The space was clean and everyone who helped me was very kind. It was a group of women. There are no private rooms, it is one big room with curtains that split everyone up, so u could potentially hear someone else's massage, but i was alone in there so it was great. Very satisfied with my massage. For a 'no frills' and 'basic' massage in a semi-private room....spaces separated by curtains....but definitely private no one can see into your area....just can hear others in the room (timers going off, asking customers if they want more time, or telling them when they are finished). The space was very clean. Lili was my gal and she was perfect for what I needed at the time. Shoulders and back were especially tight and she focused on that the entire one hour! No complaints. I was face down the entire 60 mins, I think next time I will ask if I can turn over part way through as 60 mins face down was a bit long in one position. Definitely will go back and ask for Lili! Some of the comments complain about tipping....Lili didn't even ask for a tip and was extremely satisfied with what I gave her. I personally think that if you are getting a massage for someone who is barely getting 'living wage' the tips go a long way so I tend to be generous and tip no less than 25% but usually more... In comparison I just had a massage in Napa Valley that cost me $230 for a 50 min massage and they didn't even ask me and added 20% on top of that for gratuity. So New Yang Yang for the price is perfect and they don't assume tips, so that is why we all should be generous if they do a decent job! read more

DO NOT COME HERE. This place is disgusting, hot, smells and the employee I had was OBNOXIOUS! Tall female did a lazy foot rub. I paid for an Hour -- but got maybe 45min. She kept getting up through out massage -- grabbing things and putting them away. Umm okay? She even began a good 7min AFTER she set timer! Then she added a BS $3 additional fee to the total. After I was nice enough to ignore this-- AND tip her -- she LITERALLY LAUGHED at my tip and said HER "TIP MINIMUM IS $10!!" The gently playing music lulled me into a trance as my masseuse masterfully kneaded out the tension from my shoulders and upper back. She even concluded by wiping off the massage oil with a damp, warmed towel...a very appreciated touch. Privacy is often compromised as the curtains do little to block out conversation...I spent the very end of my massage listening to the pained moans of a man who had come in for a sore shoulder. But, as a budget massage parlor, that is an additional variable that comes with the territory. At New Yang Kang, the price is right and they give you a great VIP card that gets you $5 off hour services, as well as your 11th massage free. The woman who gave me my massage 1. completely disregarded the type of massage I wanted. I wanted a swedish, she gave me deep tissue. 2. she pressed down on my spine numerous times which is just not good for your back at all, and it hurt my back immediately. 3. she forced me to give a certain amount as a tip. $45 for an hour is about on par for this area, but having tried a couple of other places around St Marks I'd say NYK is much cleaner and nicer than many of its competitors. Don't go expecting a spa experience - you'll be disappointed. It's a no frills Chinese massage joint with individual massage tables separated by curtains. Having said that they play nice calming music, the lighting is atmospheric, the staff friendly and they have nice towels - this is more than you'll get at other places of this price level round here, trust me. I'd definitely go back here. One tip: if you want your feet included in the full body massage you're probably best to confirm this with the masseuse first, as I don't think feet are normally included. read more

I've been here numerous times, more than enough to fill up one of their buy-10-massages-get-one-free stamp cards. Usually, they are super friendly to me because I followed one of the main ladies (Lucy) here from another shady Chinatown massage joints. Perhaps also because I'm Chinese. Lucy is usually who I go to, but even when she is with another guest, she greets me with a hello. Today, I was excited to go in because I had a filled-up stamp card and was looking forward to a very relaxing hour of free massage. I presented my card to Lucy and she looked at me like I'd eaten her dog. She tried to refuse the redemption of the card at first, but then I offered to pay for an extra half hour of massage so that she was at least making some money off of me. She took my stamp card and brought it into the office and examined it very, very closely and diligently, as if she suspected that I faked the stamps or something equally ridiculous. Some ponytailed man eating Chinese food joked about it being a stamp card from Subway. I felt pretty disrespected at this point, as I've been coming to this place, and more specifically to Lucy, for well over 3 years. But let me also say that I've been massaged by a very tall Chinese boy who took liberties with my inner thighs where no other masseuse has. I stopped going for a little while but then decided to go back and give them one more chance. Lucy took me back into the massage area and showed me to a stall. I undressed and waited for a few minutes for her to come back. She seemed to be doing something outside, and returned outside where she proceeded to talk to a man on a ladder. Then she came inside and closed the inner door that separates the office from the massage stalls. Through the door, I heard her bitch for about 5 minutes (I can understand Chinese) about that stamp card, repeating the same things over and over about my redeeming it. Fuming, I got up and dressed. I told other employees who were just hanging around that I was leaving and never coming back. As I passed Lucy, who was still standing outside talking to the man on the ladder, she smiled at me and said, "Next time," in which I replied, "I'm not coming back ever". read more

I made a reservation for an one-hour full body massage at 3pm and when I was on my way there, 15 minutes before my reservation, they called and confirmed that I was coming. Then 5 minutes later, they called again, and told me to change my reservation to 4pm or I'd have to only get 30 minutes because they were simply too busy. The whole point of getting a reservation is to avoid a situation like this, and the way they handled it was utterly unreasonable and unprofessional. What's the point of making a reservation even? Super no frills place. Basically a giant room with tables separated by curtains. You can hear other therapists speaking to their clients and I was afraid I would hear someone giving a happy ending, but I didn't. LOL. You can also hear the timers buzzing (indicating time is up), and once in the while the therapists will say something to Chinese to each other. Paid $16 for a 20min back rub. She did a great job. Not opposed to coming back. I was afraid the massage would suck, but it was really good. They accept credit card, but I think these places always prefer cash and I didn't want to deal with the credit card scowl. read more

Please DO NOT GO HERE. Massages are painful (I am a massage therapist-- I know various methods and NONE use this type of pressure without talking to client first). Also, male masseuse asks female clients to fully undress except for underwear, and then he proceeds to pull your underwear down and "massage in between the cheeks". It is humiliating and vulnerable. Horrible!!! Do not go to this place. I just finished my massage and I am fuming. They treat people like it's some factory. The most effortless massage I've ever had. They were speaking to each other loudly in Chinese the entire time. The woman would leave the room and interrupt my massage every time someone walked into the place. She didnt even set a timer and I know I got jipped on my time. I am absolutely appalled and offended by how rude these people are. It's all about the next buck and they will leave the room everytime someone walks in to see how much money they are going to make next. And I also found it extremely rude for them to be conversing through the curtains and giggling the whole time. How the heck is someone supposed to relax during all of that?!!!
