History
Established in 1990.
Dr. Glenn Lehr and his wife, Maria, created New World Orchids after retiring from a successful career in dentistry. Originally specializing in South American orchid species (thus the name), Glenn was inspired to try something completely different when a volcano destroyed his greenhouse in Ecuador. Having been introduced to Japanese orchids previously and seeing a wide open market here in the US, Glenn shifted his focus to Asian species. We now boast one of the largest collections of Japanese orchids in the US.
