    A lot to choose from!
    Chrystina B.

GREAT SERVICE, CLEAN, AND LOTS OF FOODS TO CHOOSE FROM! Okay- My father in law was so thrilled to take us here, because he has been going since his kids were kids, and I was down for the family tradition, although, I was a bit skeptical but soooo glad I went! The Mexican girl in the front with long hair, is rude! But other than that, we had a grat time! Here's how our trip went! Food: 10/10 With the options alone, I cannot see how someone cannot find at least one thing they will like! I am a picky eater (Ashamed to admit that lol) and I found plenty! The skewers were good, the Mongolian bbq was great, and their tempura fried shrimp was to die for! My father-in-law got fresh oysters! He said it was amazing as well! Sushi, stuffed crab, egg rolls, shrimp, whole crabs, fries etc. I also took an ice cream cup to go! Price: 10/10 The price was $18.00 all day on Sunday! In my opinion, one plate is worth the price; however at a buffet, you're going to get at least 3, right?! So, 6.00 a plate is worth it! Haha. In all seriousness, a plate of oysters alone are around 20.00. Well, all seafood right now is high, so in my personal opinion it's totally worth it! Service: 8/10 The host when you first walk in, was rude. She literally acted like some type of celebrity for some odd reason, and just treated everyone so rude. Other than that, the Asians and Mexican workers inside were wonderful. I truly appreciate them! All in all, I cannot wait to return!

What an upgrade!! I used to come here as a kid and they didn't really have much but now I'm amazed at how many new items are on the menu. They have some great workers who never let the food run empty, soon as it looks low they refill each tray. I recommend a visit with the family! They even gave me a gift for Christmas time and I'm so grateful for it. Thank you to the staff at NWB

If i could give this place 0 stars i would . this was the most nastiest dirtiest place i ever been to in my life . i cant believe they had the audacity just to give me 20 off our meals . They have old nasty food , dried chicken , dirty plates , dirty cups and to top it off they had the nerve to serve families ( mostly kids ) molded ice cream i literally cried !!!! i cant believe me and my family ate there! once i seen this my stomach dropped to my feet and everything i ate almost came all the way back up sick nasty b+\*|¥~ . My son then the next day got sick mind he's two . he didn't really ate anything from there just fries and a little rice but had this would have been any worse i would have been sitting in jail cause this sh@t right here aint cool !!!!

This place is a solid four stars. This buffet; considering the relatively bad area; offers no shortage of flavor; variety; quality; and consistency. What could be more important than that? The prices are extremely reasonable; and if you come before 4pm it is only $10. There is a HUGE variety of seafood; as well as full-service fruit & salad bar. (Or should I say self-service :) ) Now; I have a sensitive stomach. To anyone reading this... As long as you do not overdo & stuff yourself; nothing here you eat can possibly get you sick. I took a peek into the kitchen & prep areas; the floors look clean enough to eat of off. I am serious. I have colitis. I know when to run out. There are even special to-go trays available if you are in a rush. Cheap too! Now for the only issues.. The wait staff here only delivers beverages & clears your table; but they are a tad overbearing & do not like to see food thrown away. The decor; besides the multiple cable TV's, is old, stained, boring. They also need more labeling at the food bars! **Owners** please label the food better & clearer! I almost mistook beef for chicken! This place is still four-stars though. I was filled the whole night; the food isn't cheap. The temperatures are perfect. The cookies, pastries, and even the coffee; delivered on excellence. Best almond cookies I ever tasted. Do yourself a favor & take an hour to come by here one day. Your stomach will thank you.

Opening in 1998, Paradise Chinese Buffet in Montebello is the original of the four Paradise brands…read morein the LA area. This location was recently named one of three LA area buffets in the top 150 in the country, based on Google reviews. I've been to a lot of buffets (Chinese and otherwise), and this was near the top, especially based on the price. We came about 30 minutes after its 11 am opening, and the place was already packed with a line waiting to get in. You pay first, getting water and soda cups at checkout (plates are plentiful near the buffet itself). Emmelyn was the check-in associate, and she was joyful and friendly, putting a smile on my wife's face after a stressful drive through LA traffic. We found out that my wife's lunch was free because it was her birthday. Lunch pricing is $15.19 (M-F), minus $1 for seniors and military. Refillable soda is $2.99. It's find your own seating, and we grabbed the first seats we could find. -- being super crowded meant the food was constantly being replenished and kept fresh. It also meant a lot of line (inadvertent) line cutting and careful, slow movements...need to be careful for sure. -- the taste of the food was good, mainly because most things were turning over quickly. However, the selection of dishes wasn't huge, and the soups didn't look too good. -- I focused on the sushi and was satisfied. They had different type simple rolls and nigiri, with soy sauce at each table. They also had a bottle of eel sauce to douse your rolls with more, if you want. Towards the end, discovered a New Zealand green mussel dish in a hot chili sauce, which I took full advantage of. -- the must get is the Mongolian Grill, which dominates the center of the restaurant. There were three types of sliced frozen meat (beef, chicken, pork), a variety of vegetables (including my favorite, baby corn), and various runny sauces that you pour on top when done. Once your bowl is complete, you need to give it to the operator. But here its a bit different: it operates on a unique system that I've only seen here. In the front counter, there are 20 spots where numbered pager sits. Once a person fills up a bowl with raw ingredients, they place it on the next available pager spot, taking the pager with them. Once the food is cooked, the pager goes off. You then exchange the bowl in your spot, with the pager...and the cycle continues. I asked myself what would happen if all 20 pagers were taken, and decided if that happened, you would have to wait since there would be no more space on the grill for your plate anyway. The system worked really well, with all three of us taking advantage of it. Taste wise, I've had better but certainly not for that price. And I just love the efficiency of it all. -- soft serve ice cream was available, and it was very thick and creamy (though a bit off in taste). My wife also mentioned that you can get cotton candy as well. -- Service was good, with an employee in a hostess outfit personally letting us know that she was there to assist us, including getting drinks. She did clear dishes when necessary, but also seemed to be supervising our section. What's interesting is that the same report mentioned King Buffet in Garden Grove, which now seems to be another branch of the Paradise chain. So need to be leery of such reports not being current...but in this case, following its suggestion paid off.

First, I want to thank the very thoughtful server Michael and the busboys he directed. Michael…read moredoes a truly great job, operating skillfully at the intersection of chill and attentive. In previous visits to this restaurant, I noticed other diners being offered coffee or tea as closing time approached, even receiving those hot beverages in "to go" cups since it was near closing. I've dined here about 5 times over the years, and I had never been offered a coffee or tea toward the end of dinner, and certainly not "to go." Seeing other diners with coffee and tea on my last visit, I asked my server at the end of the night, and I was told the hot beverage station was already closed for the night. Michael was the first to offer me coffee or tea, and I requested a "to go" cup, which he brought. Through dinner, he watched my Diet Coke and brought a refill even without my having to ask. The busboys replaced used silverware, which has also never happened for me here. They were quick to remove used dishes and seafood shell trays. I know these services seem basic, but I usually do not receive good service at buffets, so it's worth highlighting. Michael's service was by far the best, most personable, and most thoughtful service I've had at this restaurant. He is a real standout. This seafood buffet is unique in Los Angeles, as other hotel buffets closed in the COVID Era. I'm happy this one is still around to give a taste of a small-scale Vegas-style buffet. Yes, the price is really high, and the food is not perfect, but it's a buffet. You can't expect perfection at a buffet. Though the lobster was nowhere near as impressive as fresh lobster in Maine, it was fresher and less dried out than the lobster I've had at buffets in Vegas (Caesars Palace, Wynn). The crab was very good, and I also recommend the top notch mashed potatoes and very solid pork belly (there are two varieties) and prime rib. Also this buffet is a great place to get your fill of oysters on the half shell. Oddly, they've started closing down the ice cream station before dinner time is over on my last two visits. Given the high price, I don't think the food is good enough to come multiple times a year, but every once in a while, it's a fun experience, especially with a server like Michael. Cafe Sierra remains a reliable stop in LA, and I hope it continues to stick around.

Most of the staff are friendly and a few might look grumpy, but we got the ones who were nice. We get our drinks occasionally refilled but that's usual at a buffet, you need to flag someone down if you don't catch them while they are cleaning up your plates. The downside for my latest visit isn't on the place itself, but due to a restroom incident and it's usually dirty every time I visit so I can't give it 5 stars until that's resolved. We were done eating and so I decided to use the restroom. After using the largest stall because all the others were taken, I didn't realize someone exploded near the back of the toilet. I only noticed when I got up that it was a huge MESS. I knew some of it got on my dress too so I had to call someone to help me grab something for me to change into because I cannot wear my dress after that disgusting interaction. After I changed, we went to the staff for a bag so I can throw my clothes away and I told the staff what happened. I am not sure if they understood me because they didn't respond in a way I thought they would. Luckily I didn't get it on any other clothes, I had to vigorously wash my arms though just in case. For dinner on the weekdays it's only a few dollars more ($29). On weekends it's $33 all day. I mention the price because I consider it a no-brainer for a weekday lunch. I agree with the criticism that the protein options can be limited. You aren't going to be getting filet mignon kabobs for lunch. But their chicken options, their fried fish filet, and their gyro meat is not bad. If you are looking for the premium kabobs, there are many Mediterranean options in the area that you can get that. What makes this place truly worth it are their delicious salad options, their warm, house made pita bread, their abundant options of spreads (hummus, baba ghanoush, garlic sauce). The multiple options for mediterranean salads are really what I crave from here. For $22, if I can have a multi course meal featuring 4-5 types of refreshing salads, fish filet, warm pita with hummus, a gyro (assembled on your own with their ingredients), a soft drink, and baklava. Considering the fact that I spend $16 on a combo meal at Carl's Jr or a salad wrap at Sweetgreen, this is truly a no brainer. If you do come here for dinner ($29-33), know that you can special order their braised lamb shank. I like to eat this with the pita bread, some roasted veggies, and one of their delicious spreads, but you do what you like.
