Optum is unethical. I am 68 and a cancer survivor. My husband is 71. WITHOUT ANY WARNING, by cancelling my husband's appointment a day before he was to be seen, we found out that we are not allowed to be seen by any of our doctors anymore. They will not allow us to even pay out of pocket or say goodbye to our doctors. Again, because Optum did not tell us, we are now without providers. read more

Ever since this clinic sold out to Optum, it's gone entirely downhill. People have been quitting left and right, you have to book out months in advance for your annuals. They apparently also don't note anything in their charts either so if you tell them a provider said something in your last visit they will gaslight you to the mountains and back. The practice manager is out of his scope of practice and will just repeat robotic lines without any help or real explanation. Lauren Amacker is an excellent provider but I will not be giving this clinic, specifically OPTUM, a dime more of my money. I wish she would work somewhere else. Optum and UHC do not care about you as a human being. Please take your business to an actual family practice and do not support multi billion dollar companies sucking the life out of our country. read more

Went there for 10 years. The 1st primary care physician was great and so was the 2nd. The 3rd was there for only 1 year so didn't really know him. The 4th didn't even bother to read my chart for my 1st "wellness visit". Didn't care about me as a person. Left for a real doctor and practice. read more

I went here for a wellness check. The previous doctor unfortunately was no longer with the practice. I saw an established doctor there. I got a bill later for essentially two visits, with my insurance only covering one visit. I called and asked why I got billed for two visits and they said either my visit went too long or I asked something that was not on an approved list. But the code the doctor used didn't provide more specifics. I of course got no warning from the doctor that I had either gone too long or asked something not on some list. Wondering if he was excited knowing he could double bill me. I called Optum, who it seems manages them, and they didn't have more clarity and they said they would look into it further. Twice. Now they have a collection agency calling me, which is adding to more stress. So, I went in for a wellness check, was deemed to be quite fit, but I've now been left with added stress from someone who is supposed to have my care as a priority. They have 1.8 stars on Yelp. I can not stress enough that these dr.s don't have the patients best interest at heart. My father has been a patient here and they ignored his repeated complaints about coughing and difficulty eating. Nearly a year after it began he was finally diagnosed with throat cancer. Thankfully he found excellent cancer Dr's who have saved his life. Before he was in the clear though he had a stay in a hospital and the hospitality from New West told him there was nothing to be done. He should go on hospice care. We were devastated, and my dad was ready to give up. Thank goodness that evening a Dr. From the chemo office visited and said no, he saw no reason my dad could not recover. 2 months later he is nearly fully recovered. A far cry from needing hospice care and end of life. Not only did New West not help my father, they caused harm and nearly ended his life. This practice is simply a corporate hack job, buying up physician practices from older doctors nearing retirement and mismanaging their patients. I've been seeing the same doctor for over 30 years but can't seem to get an appointment between their annoying phone tree and the obstructionist woman who answered the phone. She actually told me to go find another doctor and hung up me. She grew immediately frustrated with my persistence and accused me of being rude. I guess demanding medical care in a firm tone is rude these days. I'm not sure what this corporate rollup job is buying when it buys practices and then runs off patients. Cannot communicate directly with provider until visit, appointments are set in error and appointment center staff poorly trained and make many errors day after day resulting in problems upon arrival for appointments. Provider took over 2 weeks to review blood work and then contact was so confusing and inaccurate and reflected provider's lack of follow-through and interest in my medical history. By the time, she finally made contact with me (3 weeks after pre-op appointment) surgery had occurred and her contact was no longer needed or appropriate. This is not quality medical care. And there appears to me absolutely no way to provide feedback on patient experiences nor is anyone interested in such feedback. Got to find new providers that are not New West and/or Optum. They appear to be more interested in $ than patients or patient care. read more

I'm now looking for a new family Dr. I rarely go to the doctor so I just picked someone in our plan without much research. I called one morning for an appointment regarding a possible infection. Nothing emergent or life threatening. The receptionist said "our system is down right now so I can't make any appointments. You should probably just go to urgent care." Not, I'll call you when the system is back up or, can you call back later...? I went to urgent care as instructed. It was 3x the cost $$$ of a normal doctor visit. If I'd known it was like basically walking into an E.R., I would've never gone. Lesson learned, I guess! I need a new Family Doctor. read more

Ever since they were acquired by optum the quality of care has declined significantly. To echo the statements of others here, they don't really seem to care about patients at all. I had a sleep study done and some concerning symptoms at night and the results were returned to my primary care doctor only to be ignored and not followed up on for almost an entire week. I came see a years ago for some back problems and saw Dr Shipper and she was great, my hubby also saw her for something a year or so ago and he really liked her. Fortunately, we're all healthy and don't have to see Drs regular except for female check ups. I called to make an appointment with Dr Shipper for some issues with my elbow, she didn't have anything until about a week out, but they were able to get me in to see Dr Workman within a few days. I think that is a pretty good turn around. I called on New year's event and they were able to get me in in less than a week. I like it! I was able to get an 8:45 appointment, so I waited less than 5 minutes. I waited in the exam room for less than 5 minutes as well and in comes chipper and friendly Dr Workman. We talked through my history and she gave a pretty quick diagnosis and see a recommendations, and I gave some good information as far as what I should do if the recommendations didn't work, where I might go from there and ortho office she recommends. We were in and out within less than half an hour. Granted this is my first appointment and it was for a minor issue, but I was pleased and I think Dr Workman will be my new family Dr. my only complaint is, if you look them up on google maps, there is no suite number so I went to their old office and had to ask someone where they were. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THEM! So many things has gone wrong with them ever since I started. First off, they broke HIPAA by sending my medical bills to an address I NEVER GAVE THEM NOR HAVE LIVED THERE FOR OVER A DECADE! I called multiple times to correct this, and they have no idea what i'm talking about even though i had the original bill right in front of me. They then had the incorrect insurance (Accure Health or something similar), i had never heard of that let alone wrote that information on any documentation. On top of that i went into their office to transfer my file to my new doctor, i filled out the form, waited about a week to call my new doctor for my prescription and they said that they never received the file. I called my doctors office and they said "Looks like we lost the form", this had me furious. I need this nightmare to stop and be over with. I was a patient here 4 years ago. I moved to Castle Rock and have found it nearly impossible to find a good Doctor/PA/NP. I called this office today and told them that I wanted to come back. Not only were they so so nice on the phone they got me an appointment today! It feels good to be a part of a practice that cares for their patients. My husband went here for the first time after switching insurance from Kaiser because he needed some medicine refilled. He didn't like the office AT ALL. They saw him for a total of 5 minutes and didn't seem to care about him in the least. Besides that, when he went to pick up his medicine at the pharmacy they had prescribed the wrong one!!! He called twice to have it fixed and still it's not fixed. I just got a bill in the mail for more than it was for me to go to a specialist, get x-rays and talk with the doctor for an hour. Turned into the worst group to deal with. Do NOT connect with this organization. Getting scheduled to see your chosen physician requires clearance from the Pentagon. On average, three weeks. Customer service, uninformed, zero help, and if your the patient calling for help, get ready to wait days for a response. My prescriptions have never been such a mess. Refills requiring Dr. approval can take days to weeks, which equals the patient going without meds. Totally unacceptable to leave your patients hanging on for days to weeks without needed meds. Apparently, the Patient bill of rights is non-existent with this organization. Shame on them, their entire support staff, and staff of doctors. The billing system is terrible. I would avoid this office just for that reason. I have been trying to pay for my visits since September. I've called bi weekly and then monthly to follow up and still now in January they have not processed my payments. At one point I was told it was going to collections despite having made all my payments on time. The system just doesn't credit the patient's account is what I'm told. Anytime they make a change to my account to give me credit for a payment I made months ago, they say it will take 4-6 weeks to find out if the processing worked. It's so frustrating. The time spent figuring this out is outrageous. Will not be scheduling another visit here. read more

If I could give this office a zero-star review I would. My husband had an appointment in June 2021 and had to cancel the morning of due to a Covid exposure. We had explained the situation to the office and they indicated they would adjust the fee for the no-show. Three months later we got a bill for the $75 no show with a $50 credit. The office still expects us to pay the $25 fee. After numerous phone call with no adjustment we refused to pay the balance based on principal and in return they sent us to collections. My husband did the right thing by not exposing the entire office to Covid. I tried for two days to get Home Health Services for my husband through Brian Beezley and Family Medicine of Highlands Ranch. No one in authority would directly talk to me about our situation. On the second day, Raymond Rupel, apparently in "charge," refused to help me (by communicating through his lackey, a woman in the office), repeatedly saying, "There is nothing I can do." My husband has nearly died several times since July 7th when he was finally admitted at Swedish Medical Center Emergency Room. As of today, we have been at Swedish for 63 days. DON'T have a doctor that can't do anything for you! Protect your life and health by staying away from Beezley, Rupel and Family Medicine of Highlands Ranch! I have always hated this office, but the last 6 months have been absolutely horrible. It takes an hour to get through on the phone, and they're very unhelpful when they do answer. It's a struggle to get my prescriptions filled every time, and my doctor was very rude to me when I told her about my background and underlying health issues. When I had covid symptoms, they wouldn't order a test, yet I was able to get a drive up test at a local hospital within hours. The tipping point is that when I went in for lab work, I sat in the waiting for 30 minutes, meanwhile several office staff and 2 people in the waiting room had their masks off or under their nose. Stay Away!!! All of the doctors and good staff have left at this point. Patients are treated poorly, the staff is completely incompetent, and the medical care has grossly slipped. Promises are made (like getting preapproval) that fail and cost the patient money and then instead of making it right, they basically say they do not care about their errors and won't do anything about it. I was shuffled to 10 different people, all of which left before my issue was resolved and the final one, knowing it was over a year and countless hours invested and that I was both promised preapproved (with a code which was false) and the$0 balance of my account and she (Megan) still would not do anything to make it right. I have never seen an organization run so poorly with such despicable customer service and flat disregard for the patient and this was NOT the case prior to the buyout from NWP, as it was a well-run and respected group. I know there are few choices in Evergreen, but save yourself the heartache and hassle and go with one of the other groups. read more

If there was a zero, I'd give it a zero! My husband and I moved here and were establishing care with Dr. Teng Chan. This was my husbands first visit. The front office staff was super sweet, we checked in early and waited 45 min before taken back. ( after asking 3 times, how much longer) Then Dr. Chan enters the room and starts talking without even looking at us, saying it's nice to meet you. ( it was as if we were not there) No compassion, cold and very dismissive. He kept checking his watch during our visit and told my husband that he couldn't get to all of his questions and concerns today, did a quick check up while checking his watch a few more times , ordered a few more exams and tests and flew out the door saying it was nice to meet you and we will see you in a month ( his back was turned to us the whole time) . I left work early to make a 3:15 appointment. I signed in and watched several people who came in after me be called back, until I was finally called to see dr. Workman at 4:15. We had a quick conversation, where she actually joked about the problem I came to her for, and she referred me to get blood drawn and sent me back to the waiting room. After sitting in the waiting room for 35 minutes I decided I wanted to leave and asked the receptionist if she could check me out. She got a terrible attitude with me and said we are taking you now; convenient! I walked out and this place has lost a patient. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time here. Unfortunately all these doctors care about is their money, and not the well being of their patients. I am in the process of finding a new office to go to. I have gone in multiple times over the past few years for flank pain. Minimal testing is done to figure out why o am in pain and when they don't find anything they tell me I'm fine or they want to prescribe me drugs. I just went in last week for a UTI and for excruciating kidney pain. They did a urinalysis that indicated I had a bad infection. When I asked if it was a kidney infection doctor schipper said "you've definitely got some kind of infection" how do you not know? I went and picked up my antibiotics and am on day 4 out of the 6 days im supposed to take them and am not getting any better. I called the office last night because I am still in a lot of pain. The receptionist told me she would have the on call doctor call me. I got no call. So I took matters into my own hands and called a urologist that works with my insurance and they are able to get me in on Monday. I'm irritated that I even wasted my time with these doctors anyways because I definitely don't trust them to find what's wrong with me if there is ever something serious going on. Don't go here if you actually care about your health and well-being, because these people definitely don't. read more

Been going here for a few years now. I appreciate Dr Beadle and the time she's taken with me. I have a bit of a "white coat syndrome" and i get so nervous going to the doctor. She has a sixth sense I think and knows it and always calms me down by just making normal conversation. She diagnosed me with high blood pressure a couple years ago and borderline diabetic. Told me I needed to lose weight and it would get it under control. I took it to heart and lost 20 pounds in a year. No more high blood pressure meds and I'm out of the woods for diabetes! I saw a physician at New West Physicians at 3:15 PM on Wednesday, 4 Mar. He prescribed a cough medication to help me get sleep after a 6-week problem. I had seen 1 PA and 1 other physician at their Littleton office, and visited with another PA over the phone to prescribe a 3rd medication to help my problem. After leaving the Littleton office, I went to the Target/CVS pharmacy in Highlands Ranch and waited 40 minutes, whereupon Target told me my prescription had not been called in. I called New West to explain the situation at 4:15 PM and they were to call me back with news my prescription had at last been called in. At 4:59 PM, I called New West and the office had closed with no action on my care. Another sleepless night coughing for me due to a seemingly-routine medication call in snafu.
