We tried to do our homework, and we did get other estimates, but, at the end of the day, we went with our gut. Our gut said that Ashton was the real deal, an expert firm with a clear, transparent process, a locally owned company that we could trust. Ashton handled everything for us - the design, the fencing, the landscaping, the pool cover, and of course the beautiful pool. They guided us through all of the product and color choices that have to be made, always showing us what was within our budget, never upselling us. When we walked in, they said that it would be two years before our pool was completed. Another company promised a pool in six months - but online reviews for that company indicated that customers had been left with a muddy hole after six months and were waiting for a completed pool more than two years after that. Ashton delivered our pool six months early. And, they told us we were just lucky with the weather. Their initial timeline had been accurate - they do not not under promise and over deliver - they deliver what they promise. That's how we experienced them: accurate, precise, accountable, reliable. The finished product is gorgeous, and we will add pictures to this review. Our son in law is a contractor. He commented on the stone tile work, noting that it was done perfectly, and "that's not easy to do." He plans on getting the Buildertrend software for his own company, "because that really tells the customer that you are honest." The building inspector stopped by. He waved his clipboard, and said he would look at every item on his list, but that he would never find anything, because "Ashton is the best." Our neighbor, so close to our property, in a coastal community, commented that the workmen were so polite and quiet. He never heard a foul word or raised voice. Our neighbor is a priest! Fortunately, like we did the previous year, we called the friendly and reliable folks at Go Glass in Lewes to come and do the job. We were not disappointed. And just like before, making an appointment was easy, the pricing was fair, communication was excellent and the workers came exactly on time. Replacing the lower sash was quick and expertly done. I'd like to give a HUGE shout-out to our GoGlass technicians, Jimmy and Dawonne, who went above and beyond by spending extra time rubbing and scraping-off some intense gunk present on the "new" window replacement sash. With a lot of elbow grease, they got it all off! They also spotted a small defect in the "new" window that I noted and will report. And in addition to fixing our window, they also checked out an unusual spin that developed on our GoGlass custom-made round glass tabletop. They discovered that one of the tab holders shifted to the center (likely from cleaning), which explained the spinning effect. So, they replaced and repositioned all the tabs, cleaned the table and set it all back to normal. Jimmy and Dawonne were awesome and deserve a raise! He has been good about pointing out any issues and offering remedies. The operating system is the original and he has the knowledge to maintain it. I recall a part or two has had to be replaced. But one change in these many years was to replace the original "button" starter with a digital control. Yolanda has always been helpful and proactive when dealing with business matters and scheduling. She responds timely to emails and phone calls which is always appreciated. We have been on a bi-weekly maintenance plan over these years and have always found the spa to be sparking clear when we return to our beach house. So very much appreciated!!
