Their macau iced coffee and new orleans coffee are delicious. The macau is a little on the sweeter end which was what I was looking for today. It's cash only under $5 but the barista was nice enough to just let me pay up another day. To be clear, its not a cafe, its a pick up and go coffee spot cos its still mostly a club. I attended the show at this alternate location in SF on Friday night, and had a blast as usual. The venue worked well for the event, for the most part. No balcony seating like the DNA Lounge (the usual spot for Mortified), but they had more bar height tables and chairs for couples on the side, and open seating both on the floor and along the back wall on a raised level of the main room. A small bar in the back corner too. Excellent lighting, and great view of the stage from anywhere. Technical difficulties occurred at multiple points of the event, related to the sound and screen display. They did short music clips in between readers' performances since there was no live band for this particular show. Sometimes the music volume would be excruciatingly loud, and at times the images were projected off the screen or were accidentally changed mid-performance. Can't speak of the nightclub atmosphere here, as it's been decades since I've experienced that. But based on my recent visit, I'd say the venue overall was decent for an event space, and even if not perfect, I still had a good time.

Two of my friends each had only one drink from the bar and, shortly afterward, became extremely intoxicated to the point that they eventually lost consciousness. For context, neither of them is a lightweight, and we had all eaten plenty beforehand. Their reactions were completely out of character and concerning enough that we had to leave early to make sure they were safe. After discussing what happened afterward (the day after recovery) we became concerned that something may have been added to their drinks. While we cannot say for certain what caused their reactions, the experience was extremely unsettling and has completely changed how I feel about this club. I would not return and cannot recommend this place based on our experience. Please be careful with your drinks and look out for your friends!
