We had a clogged downspout that we needed help cleaning, so we hired KST Handyman through Yelp…read more Alexei came with another person George to help out with the job. They were very nice, friendly, and professional. Their English was not that great (by their own admission) so they often used Google Translate on their phone to translate, which actually worked a lot better than I had expected. We were able to communicate with them just fine. They mentioned they were from Russia so if you can speak Russian that would be great. They wanted to connect their pressure washer to our hose to pressure wash the clogged gutters, but our hose recently broke and thus we didn't have one, so they went out to Home Depot to purchase one for the job. They also got on the roof to manually scoop out a lot of the debris in the gutters. To fix the clogged downspout they removed the gutter from the wall and emptied them and pressure sprayed the inside of the gutter to clear them out. The gutters looked pretty good after they cleaned everything out. They also readjusted the gutter to fit into the French drain better (it was misaligned from the previous job from another contractor). We would be happy to call them up again if we had any more house jobs that needed to be done!

I even purchased a new internal flushing kit. I called Mark of Accolade Home Services, and in no time, he identified the problem. It was not the flushing mechanism but was with the connectors under the toilet to the wall. He replaced the key connector that wasn't working from the toilet to the wall - a part he carries in his truck. He also replaced the internal mechanism that I'd purchased, as those do get older with time. In about 30 - 40 minutes he was done! Problem solved!

I had a special request for a portable set of stairs in my attached garage, since I wanted to option to remove the stairs in case I wanted to park two cars in our garage (the configuration with a permanent set of stairs would not provide enough space for a 2nd car). When I first reached out to Danny, he was very thoughtful in thinking about different design options that would fit my criteria, and helped confirm my input throughout so we minimized rework. Long overdue review! We hired United Pro Handyman (led by Ilya) in January 2024 for a remodel,…read moreincluding relocating an entry door, adding a partition wall, closing off a fireplace, removing built-ins, interior painting, and exterior stucco work. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. The main issue arose with the exterior stucco work, which began cracking within days. Ilya sent his guy to fix the problem and his guy just applied another layer of stucco to cover the cracks! After one week, the cracks became evident and had worsened. My husband and I have decided to go with a different contractor to fix this issue. I had informed ILya about this and he initially agreed to reimburse us for a stucco patch. During this time, we decided to legalize the remodel. From the city inspection, we found out that the problem wasn't just superficial--underneath the stucco, we discovered improper waterproofing, incorrect lathing, and screws that did not comply with California code. This oversight could have led to much larger structural issues in the future. When I explained that this was not simply a patch job but required a complete redo of waterproofing, lathing, and screw replacements, Ilya became unresponsive. Alex, the manager, visited our site multiple times during the project in January and even guaranteed a one-year warranty, promising to provide a formal contract after we made full payment. Despite repeated follow-ups with Andrei, the estimator, we never received that contract. If you're considering United Pro Handyman, I strongly advise you to demand a binding quote or contract that includes all warranties before making any down payment. Be cautious of their "choice" between a 10% discount but you pay for the materials or no discount but they will shoulder the cost of materials--insist that they cover materials, especially for larger projects. They purchased unnecessary items, including insulation pads that were never used, resulting in a complete waste of money. As of today, our newly stucco wall is now ready to be painted. We passed all inspections and it feels so good to know everything was done correctly. We regret our decision to work with United Pro Handyman and recommend others proceed with extreme caution.

He was the most thorough and honest regarding the install. We went back and forth with ideas, and he was extremely communicative. We finally scheduled and he did an excellent job moving our lighting fixtures as well as installing medicine cabinets in a clean fashion! He is very personable (even my 2 year old enjoyed seeing him!), and a perfectionist. He is thoughtful and clean as well. He took a bit of time to complete our job, but was a pleasure to work with and was flexible and worked hard to complete the task. He even went above and beyond and notified us of other concerns he saw in our home (ie our water heater temperature was scalding and could have burned our kid!) We enjoyed working with him and while he may not be the cheapest in the area, he is extremely well informed and extremely helpful. 100% recommend!!!!
