The service ad new scooters for less is absolutely amazing. I needed an oil change in my scooter wasn't starting properly, so I asked them to take a look at it if they weren't too busy. They called me within the hour to tell me that the battery was the problem and that they would reach out to the company to see if it was covered under warranty. They were able to save me almost $60 because they took the time to reach out to the company and replace my battery and oil change for me. All the while they kept calling me throughout the day to make sure I was aware of the different prices and services before they even touch my scooter. Very happy with my experience with NS4L! I had an issue with my muffler back in February but Covid led to a very delayed service. I finally got back to Gainesville and contacted them again to try and schedule an appt. Their communication was amazing (via email), friendly, helpful, and very patient in explaining the service details to me. Great place to buy a scooter - but DO NOT get your scooter serviced here. When I dropped my scooter off to be serviced here, I was told it would take a week to 10 business days to repair. After two weeks of waiting, I called the store and was told it would be the next day. After the next day of not receiving the scooter, I continuously called the store and was constantly told the "next day". Finally, it got to the point where I was quite frustrated and complained - this is when they offered to work on the scooter immediately (about 3 weeks after I dropped it off). The following day, I was called and told me scooter was ready to be picked up. It was during this phone call that I was told by an employee of NS4L that I was "rude" on the phone and he did not understand why as they had rushed to get done my scooter after my FIFTH time of calling and nearly 3 weeks in. I explained how I may have seemed rude as I was told the wrong timeline multiple times. After waiting nearly 3 weeks, calling 5+ times, and being called rude I finally received my scooter. I was given the scooter on empty gas (when one of the services was "fuel and refuel"), one light that was supposed to be fix was out, and overall not a great running scooter for the amount of money I spent. DO NOT give NS4L your money if you want your scooter serviced - they are expensive, unrealistic with time, and may even call you rude in the process while not completely fixing your scooter. I hope they take this response to fix their service department and attempt not to give their customers a false timeline - as if I was told 3 weeks when I dropped it off, I would not be writing this review. I will not be getting my scooter serviced here again. read more

Very unfair business practices!! We purchased a scooter in September. Unfortunately, my daughter fell off and got hurt the first time she drove it. I have to emphasize, this WAS NOT an accident. So there was no impact to the scooter, more-so injuries to my daughter. There was damage to the ignition and the side of the scooter so we had New Scooters 4 Less repair it within the week of her fall. They charged us $95 and assured us it was in perfect shape. For many months, the scooter has not been used regularly since she got very hurt during the fall and is afraid to get back on. We decided to sell the scooter and took it back bc we had a potential buyer who wanted it checked out. They now quoted us $330 for a problem with the steering column they claim happened when she fell off. This was never reported to us when we had the scooter originally checked back in September. This is pure negligence on their part. Moreover, they charged a $40 estimate fee which was never explained when she brought the scooter in this last time. We now have the scooter in Miami and have had it inspected. The steering column is in perfect shape! Dishonesty is a very bad business practice. If in Gainesville, I highly recommend people to use the many other scooter shops available besides New Scooters 4 Less! read more

I have never been so disappointed in a company before. Please do not bring your scooter to NS4L. I waited 2 weeks for my scooter to be even diagnosed. Once it was diagnosed they quoted me $300 for a flush of my gas tank. I could not even believe this so I decided to get a second opinion. I brought my scooter to Solano and they charged me $25 for something that NS4L quoted $300 for. They also replaced the cap of my scooter so I would not have to keep coming back for repairs. NS4L is scamming the students at the University of Florida. I honestly think this is disgusting. Remodel your business structure. I want my $50 bullshit diagnostic fee back. read more

First and foremost, DO NOT TRUST THE 5 STAR REVIEWS. This shop gives discounts for good reviews. I had my oil changed at this shop ($30 for them to put in $4 oil) and decided to use them again when my scooter got hotwired. I will NEVER use this shop again and would urge everyone not to use scooter shops in Gainesville in general. Since it was hotwired I did not feel safe driving it to the shop so I decided to use their pick up service ($25 pick up fee and $50 deposit). After being in the shop for a week I get a text with an estimate of almost $400 to fix. This estimate had things that did not need fixing like replacing the throttle cable and the oil. After taking these charges off (total at around $215 now), I proceeded with fixing the scooter at the shop. After another week I get a call that they're experiencing more problems and want to replace the harness which would take up to 3 weeks to ship and would cost $80-100 plus additional labor costs. I looked online and this harness can be purchased for $20-50. They could not give me an estimate at the time so I decided to pick it up. At this time they said the issue was that the battery was overcharging. They said that they already worked 6 hours on it which I thought was an overexageration as my scooter is the cheapest on the market and is pretty much a glorified lawnmower. There's just not much to look at in the first place. I was very upset as they did not give me a right diagnosis, could not give me a correct estimate, and it had been in the shop for 2 weeks now. When I picked it up they tried to charge me another $75 for the diagnosis, even though the manager, Brad, said the $50 deposit would cover it. The real kicker was that the whole exterior side was damaged, with one of the silver letters popped off- so somehow they managed to drop it. I also highly suspected them of replacing my throttle as it was discolored and was in far worse condition than when they got the scooter. Additionally, they did not put the scooter back together well- so many screws were loose. I found someone selling their scooter for parts for around $65. It took me and my dad less than 2 hours to fix all the problems in the scooter. The battery was running fine, the throttle cable didn't need to be replaced (the throttle was just not fitting correctly), and we replaced the harness just in case. In conclusion, I payed this shop $75 for the shop to keep it for over 2 weeks and ended up with a damaged scooter that still had issues. Scooters are fairly simple. If youre comfortable with it I suggest figuring our your problems yourself. In 2 hours me and my dad did what the shop couldn't in 2 weeks by simply watching YouTube videos. Very shady business - I would recommend looking elsewhere. My daughter went for service and was told multiple things wrong with her scooter, none of which were true. The owner is arrogant and couldn't care less that she was obviously not knowledgable and tried to take advantage of that fact. She later talked to several other students who said they tried to resell their scooters to NS4L and were offered next to nothing for them with the owner saying there were "mechanical issues" that basically made the scooter worthless - again NOT true! NS4L is a great business for purchasing a NEW scooter. They are close to UF campus, super convenient, and have a dave and busters type reward ticket system to bring in the younger crowd and encourage customers to come back. They also have a friendly staff and extra packages and amenities for students leaving town for break. You can really tell someone invested time and money into the business. Im knocking off two stars because NS4L would NOT be the place I would recommend anyone for scooter repairs. They are incredibly overpriced and tend to recommend things outside the needs of the scooter. Landing you at a range between $100-$500+ depending on need. Seeing that this is half the price of the scooter its simply not worth it. Just having them look at the scooter is like $50. I repaired my scooter 3 times in one year for faulty spark plugs that are supposed to last at least a year and other minor problems.in hindsight I couldve saved hundreds of dollars. When discussing alternative options they told me that if I didn't want to go through I could hand over the title or "rights" of my scooter to them lol.. no thanks Overall id liken the business to a pampering spa for dogs. I borrowed a scooter from a friend one summer while I was a student and ended up being a little too careless with it. Long story short I had to have some repairs done on it. I took it into NS4L and from the moment I walked in I was fascinated by this business. As a business owner myself, I was in awe at the company culture that was before me. From the custom graffiti wall, to the bean bag lounge waiting area and complimentary snacks, with sublime (my favorite band) playing in the back ground, I felt like a kid at chuckie cheeses. Then I had to remind myself why I was there in the first place - to get repairs done. The staff made this as painless as possible. Told me exactly what needed to be done, how they were going to do it, when I could expect it back by, and, of course the dreaded, how much it will cost. However, in about half the quoted repair time, I got a call from the mechanic himself, not some receptionist but the actual guy working on the scooter. He told me it was ready and why he did. When I came to pick it up, the owner greeted me, and it turned out to be about a hundred dollars less than they had quoted me! I was so used to having car mechanics charge me more than quoted, or find 'something else' wrong with my vehicle. Not this place! Plus, they won the overall small business of the year in Gainesville. Very disappointed. I left town for 3 weeks and left my scooter at my house in Gainesville, when I came back and went to start it, it wouldn't catch and start the engine. I called NS4L (the place I bought my scooter from) and the woman on the phone was an absolute jerk and said "you have to schedule someone to come pick you scooter up and it'll be about $300 for them to fix it... we offer storage, that's what you get for leaving it unattended for 3 weeks." As a college student (among their target demographic), I freaked out because I do not have $300 to spend on starting my scooter so I called a second scooter store in Gainesville for a second opinion where the guy who answered walked me through the simple way to rev the engine and start it, over the phone, for FREE.... I am very disappointed that NS4L was so quick to try and overcharge me for something I was able to do at home with a some guidance. I gave them two stars because I did buy my scooter from them and have had it serviced a few times and conditions were relatively okay, but this last experience was so awful I had to post to make sure other college students are not paying $300 for something they can do at home for free. read more

They were helpful when I was looking to purchase a scooter, but once I purchased a brand that they are not selling a lot of (a Honda) and came in for some repairs, they tried to scam my pants off. Absolutely ridiculous. I needed an oil change and my roller weights changed (about a $120 repair job with labor) and they tried to get me to change my variator, belt, clutch bell, you name it. The estimate ended up being nearly $500. I took the scoot to Road Rat Motors and they confirmed that NS4L was trying to take me for an unwanted ride--and that it is almost impossible that the variator would need to be changed. Their exact words: "I highly doubt you need all of those parts. It's extremely extremely rare to need to replace the variator and clutch bell on a scooter. I'm very confident we can get it repaired for you for much much less." AND THEY DID. and delivered it to my house for $20. ( a good 7-8 mile distance) Needless to say, I will not be going to NS4L for anything. Even their own technicians recommended going online or elsewhere (I chatted with the guy that actually took apart my scooter). As a newer company you'd think they'd be more careful about their reputation. Steer clear!! read more

We got our son's scooter there three years ago- excellent safe scooter- and they were very fair and honest. They spent time teaching my son what he needed to know - they keep it serviced- and will even pick it up and keep it in storage over the summer and during winter break and bring it back for a small fee. Terrible experience with this repair shop. Not knowing I had copies of the previous owners service tickets they suggested replacing a carburetor to fix a rough idle issue. Problem is, the carburetor was already replaced by previous owner 700 miles earlier. Despite that Brad tried to claim that he wasn't sure they did the work or that the scooter was even purchased from them originally. Total rip off preying on college kids and remote parents that can't deal with them locally. Strongly encourage you to question what and why they recommend certain repairs. Even then you're likely to have to take it elsewhere. read more

When I dropped my scooter off I told them I had been in an accident and I wanted to make sure that everything was in working order before I continued to drive it. Today, when I picked my scooter up, I was definitely underwhelmed. There had been no communication about the mysterious bolt that I thought belonged to my scooter nor had they tightened my mirrors that loosened in the accident. I have been calling them at least 7 times a day with no response except a cheesy pre-recorded voicemail. I've been to the shop before and I know they just let the line ring. They picked up my scooter a week ago and it took them an entire week just to diagnose my scooter, which they charged me $150 for. They aren't responding to my calls despite them leaving me a number to call back because I want to know why my quote is $500+ before I commit to such an insane price. I know they're busy because it's the beginning of the school year but this is just truly poor service. read more

I get most of of my service done at new scooters for less and I've always loved the service here. Even when I just come in for an oil change I've had them do some minor checks and adjustments for me at no extra charge (things like adjusting the head lamp or letting me know one of the light of sensors on the brakes don't work). They have also have given me some good deals on their services. The staff members are really knowledgeable about scooters and they provide swift and excellent service. When I got there, I was greeted with smiles and a promise to get started on my scooter right away. As the team was fixing up my scooter, the lady at the front desk was more than happy to help me pick a maintenance plan that worked for me and explain what every one entailed. After everything was said and done, I received instructions on what to do next with my scooter. Not only do they sometimes take MORE than a week to look at your scooter and get you and estimate, but once they think they have an estimate, they take another week to fix it. The first time I took my scooter there was to get my brakes fixed. When I finally got it back, the brake light didn't work. Took it there a second time because I thought maybe it was just a bad experience. All I needed was for my tire to be popped back on the wheel. I got it back and the electric start doesn't work anymore, along with the blinkers, or alarm. Will NEVER be going back. read more
