Everything is cooked fresh and nothing is held under a heat lamp. The owner is proud of his products and their quality. And he brought a lagniappe of pistachio pudding sweetened with pineapple. My order was cooked and served hot and fresh. I'd ordered the shimp po'boy and it was a generous portion. It was drizzled with a couple of sauces, a remoulade with a hint of heat and the other was a creamy white stripe. I was curious chickpea flour coating used on the shrimp, and found that it didn't color the flavor at all. It had a nice crisp texture, not as rough as cornmeal, but not as smooth as tempura. The side of fries were also coated and had a nice seasoning and were crisp.
Along the kitchen area there is a narrow bar with three stools where you can eat if not taking it to-go. Another bar and stool is at the front window. And outside beneath of shade of trees are four picnic tables in a landscaped corner of the gas station's lot, on the same side as the restaurant.
