I don't do Chinese take-out food that frequently, but when I do, I want my craving to be satisfied. Unfortunately, tonight was not the night. I've been craving Chinese for a while, but it took a "Kentucky minute" for the timing to be right. So tonight we were really looking forward to some good Chinese takeout. My husband and I ordered a pu pu platter, he got beef and vegetables with added spicy and for some reason, they were not making my go to tonight, which is Egg Foo Young, so I settled for Moo Shu pork, an alternative go to. Disappointment all around. The fried elements of the pu pu platter were way overcooked, from the egg roll to the "crab" sticks to the chicken "fingers". mushy, mushy and more mushy. The best item on the platter was the chicken on a stick, which wasn't all bad. My moo shu pork was flavorless and overcooked, with not a bit of texture left in the vegetables. My husband's beef and vegetables that were supposed to have spice added were bland even to me and I am very sensitive to spicy food. But I will say at least his vegetables were not overcooked. Oh, and we also ordered two bags of fried crispy noodles... Which were stale and had the texture of cardboard. To add insult to injury, we didn't even get fortune cookies. I know there's not a lot of competition in this town, but that's no excuse not to "Do Better". After spending almost $50 with a tip, to be honest, we feel like we were rode hard and put away wet. Worst of all, I'm still craving Chinese cuisine, but I'm afraid to try the local competition again at this point. I can only take so much disappointment. It will probably be another "Kentucky minute" before we travel the Great Wall again at least locally. Whatever happened to the nice hometown sit down Chinese restaurants where they served your delicious entrée in a pedestal cloche, the egg rolls were divine and it felt like a culinary experience at a reasonable price? I am very disappointed this time around. I had gotten their egg drop soup a couple of times before, but this time around it had a sour taste and off putting smell. Not sure if they are keeping old soup and not storing it correctly when reheating, but I could not stomach one more bite. I swear I better not get food poisoning ugh... I had this in delivery, so some things can be understandable on miscommunication. I had plan on giving this place a 4 star because of the miscommunication, but several factors came into play that gave it the 5 star it deserved. One was instantly when I took a bite of the honey chicken. The second was my dog's reaction to wanting more (he's a picky eater so this was an astonishing feat). They were very polite when talking to me about a few hiccups, and it was appreciated that they informed me. I would definitely recommend this place. It's delicious. read more

I don't know why this did not show up on Yelp under Restaurants in Defuniak Springs. Never having been to this city, I imagine a small hick town with only 6 restaurants. Was I wrong! It has way more restaurants than shows up on Yelp. Anyway, this place is Cheap and good. That's how I like a quick dinner after a long day at the springs. Since I'm Vegetarian, my options are always the mixed veggies and plain fried rice. This dish didn't look any different than usual but it tasted better than most I've had. This restaurant at first appears to be takeout only, but there are several tables. The staff were friendly, and the service was quick. I found the food to be fresh and very tasty. My meal actually exceeded my expectations. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I chose to dine in, and it's more or less a fast food type feel with all plastic containers and utensils. Would eat there again. read more

As a local and regular at this restaurant I can recommend it. Food is cooked fresh to order and piping hot. It's clean and kitchen is clearly visible from the dining area. I get a little concerned about the cleanliness and quality of most oriental eating establishments and am reluctant to recommend them but I have no problem recommending this place unlike the two other similar places in town. read more

Egg drop soup was rather putrid. The shrimp and lobster sauce tasted pretty good and the location was great.

Chicken cashew is dry , they charge extra 50 cents for the sauce. I would not come back here.

For a small place, it spoils us for any other oriental food. Nice people. Super fresh. Try the house soup.

PROS- The food is very good. You can eat there or get it to go. I usually eat there. They serve everything hot and fresh. I like sweet and sour chicken with vegetable fried rice and a egg roll. I don't usually eat the sauce but my wife likes it and she says its good. My wife and our 2 friens like the cashew chicken and the black pepper chicken. She gets it with vegetable fried rice and a eggroll. Our friends get the pork fried rice witch has tiny pieces of pork in it. I have tried it and it is good but with the pork it is almost like eating an extra meal. They have a lot of items on the menu and extra items on a white board on the left wall. The kitchen can be seen from the counter and dining area. The dining area is small with 6 tables but we have been there about 20 times and seats were available 19 times. I have noticed most people get food to go when I eat there. I eat there in the evening between 4:30PM and 7:00PM. The food comes to your table in the to-go containers which are very nice and convenient tupperware-like containers. CONS- The forks are small and flimsy(weak) but they work. I eat with the chopsticks. All the have to drink is Soda and they seem extra sweet. You can get tap water for free and save about $4 but there water does not taste good in my opinion. I bring my own bottled water because they don't sell bottled water. read more
