CAREONE IN NEW MILFORD, NJ---AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE When…read moremy 93 year old mother became paralyzed overnight, and she could no longer live independently in her large Manhattan apartment, my family had to make an expedient and painful decision. I am in NYC, and had heard of CareOne in New Milford, NJ where I have family, and we decided to send her there via ambulance on one of the saddest days of my life. I rode with her in the ambulance, and we were received with warmth and professional assistance. I was distraught, but the CareOne receptionist was so caring as she helped me get taxi service to get back to New York. It was such an encouraging omen for days to come. As we met more and more of the staff of CareOne in New Milford, I felt that they were becoming family. The day the occupational therapist said that he would treat my mother as if she were his own mother, I knew I had found a new family. My mother arrived extremely disabled and could not move or speak. Today, a few months later, she is speaking well and can even manage phone conversations. The speech, occupational, physical therapists are outstanding, even miracle workers. The nurses and rest of the staff inspire confidence and peace. I lived downstairs from my mother for many years, and we were never separated, so the kindness, competence, and warmth we encounter at CareOne in New Milford are as healing for my family as they are for my mom. I also want to add that my mother, an extraordinary woman who marched with Dr. Martin Luther King in 1963, feels at home at CareOne in New Milford. Not only is the staff lovely and professional, but delightfully culturally diverse. It was the America my family dreamed of, and now as she has made CareOne her home, it is a place that inspires us as a microcosm of societal success and community assurance. In these times of turmoil, and especially during a pandemic, I have found CareOne in New Milford, NJ to be a safe haven. The virus protocols are so exacting there that many in my family had covid, and it did not touch my mother. We never have to worry about the safety measures that are taken there regarding infections or outside harm. I appreciate the meticulous diligence in this area as it not only protects my mom, but their staff, and members of the community as well. CareOne in New Milford, NJ is a hidden gem and a wonderful choice for senior care for Manhattanites. It is only 25 minutes North of the GWB. I have had a good experience and want to share it publicly. While the professional services are marvelous, it is also the spirit of the place that I wish to make public. I love visiting and consider everyone there more than a friend at this point. They have become family. And shouldn't this be the underpinning and foundational heart of any institution? I was very upset by this development because everyone I met that works there was amazing. I had the opportunity to meet several of the residents as well and they treated me with dignity and respect...they made me feel welcome. I was hoping to have a place go to help people. I still want to do it, but I find it difficult sometimes to simply get out of bed. I really hope that I can find a way to tolerate my pain better, without the use of medication, so that I can make the drive from Fair Lawn to Englewood. The residents deserve people who can volunteer their time and it can be such a rewarding experience. I really am going to try to get my pain issues in order. I'd like to be there for these people. Like many elderly folks I suspect, my dad didn't want to leave his home. He decided to give your Community a try because the isolation, boredom and loneliness brought on by Covid was very hard for him. He was beginning to decline and get depressed. Three days after dad moved into The Cliffs though, he began telling jokes again. His usual happy demeanor returned. He was participating and enjoying all of the activities, but mostly he began to fall in love with a place filled with warm and welcoming people. Within two weeks he asked me to sell the house he had lived in for 50 plus years. He didn't even feel the need to return to it. He said he "was happier than he ever imagined he could be, with his new home and family." I will never find the words to adequately express what that meant to me as a daughter... My dad passed away peacefully last month. He had lost his ability to speak. He slept almost all of the time. And yet, whenever someone entered the room he opened his eyes and greeted them with a huge joy filled smile. He did that until the very end. You all gave him that. The unbelievably dedicated Caregivers kept him comfortable and happy during his time with you... The amazing residents laughed with him when he told his jokes and said hello to him as they passed him in the halls. Others prayed with him. Some of you didn't even speak, but patted him on the arm knowingly while he slept in the Great Room. I don't think I will ever stop missing the man that I loved so deeply all of my life. A man whose happiness I wanted to assure until he took his very last breath. With that, I will always be thankful for the small part I played in finding your "Village"... This very special place, for him to spend the end of his life's journey feeling loved. With that, I will always be grateful to God, and I will always be grateful to you. It is a lovely facility; the grounds are spacious with walking paths, two gazebos, a patio, and a courtyard. The main floor has small cozy seating areas off the great room (which is lovely for visiting), a library, activities room, and a media room with the TV (most facilities we visited had a TV on all day on the first floor.) Their "beverage and snacks area" is actually a small dining area and kitchen, which was also terrific when we visited. Activities my mother enjoyed: performers who came a few times a week (especially singalongs); Ted Talk and discussion groups; arts & crafts; and physical therapy (because it was in a very nice room with floor to ceiling windows with a nice outside view). And we all loved the holiday "events", especially at Christmas. I highly recommend The Cliffs at Eagle Rock.

This rehab facility is pretty ok. Nurses or CNAs are on around the clock. I was there for a week…read moreand I was pretty much taken care. A few aides are a little lazy or rude but most were fine. I know they are busy. I was on the 2nd floor which I think they call sub acute. Majority of the people there are seniors and live there full time. So if your young like me it can be a little frustrating to deal with the full time residents who can be annoying at times with the noise. I just told my aid that my room mate is causing undue noise and it was handled. I'm an esmoker so I was hassled a little bit about smoking near the building so I just moved to the parking lot in my wheelchair. Food is rated 6 out of 10 in my opinion.

There is a very incompetent employee there named Daniel Lee, a social worker. He does not do what…read morehe says he will do, and then the work he does is a total failure. For example, he ordered the wrong hospital bed, which is now holding up the transfer of a patient. Instead of giving the phone number of the patient's POA, he gave them the patient's phone number, so when we call asking for the status of the bed, they say they have been trying to get in contact but no one answers. There are a dozen other examples, but bottom line is run away from this disaster of a rehab facility. It is a pure money grab, and nothing more. Other than the physical therapists, who are decent, the staff are all F- and the Director should be fired for incompetence.

I worked with my therapist Jeff and Sarah for the past 7 1/2 years, they are great. In general, the entire therapy staff has been wonderful, going above and beyond. Nursing staff is understanding to my needs. The aides make sure Im comfortable and help with my daily activities. Deep the unit manager is very helpful, considerate, compassionate. The admissions director Jenny has made this stay at CareOne Oradell amazing as she came to visit me everyday. Very great customer service. Eli the administrator and Favorites the director of rehab has also played a positive role in my stay as I get stronger to return home. I'm very thankful for everyone. The atmosphere and the cleanliness of the facility is well kept and cozy. I can go on and on about the amazing staff at CareOne at Oradell and most of all the quality of cared.

I am a 73 year old adult male who had very little, if any, rehabilitation in the hospital. I was bedridden for approximately seven days. The Rehabilitation and Occupational Therapy started my therapy the next day after my admission to Emerson Health and Rehabilitation Center. They started me in very slowly to Rehab as I was very debilitated. I progressed over the next 12 days with the assistance and encouragement of Tara, Apexa, Jessica, and Serge. On a scale of one to ten, I would give the Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation a TWENTY. I elected not to go to Rehab as an outpatient proving what a remarkable job Emerson Health and Rehabilitation Center did during my stay at the facility. MVane
