The facility was bright, clean and welcoming. The staff is knowledgeable, warm and friendly. Dr. Scott made a very good impression. He explained not only what treatment I would require, but why and what I should expect regarding post treatment. He had an excellent sense of my concerns and did not hesitate to assure me before beginning treatment. Ericka, his assistant was very calming and was mindful of my comfort. I already had a bad taste in my mouth with my other dentist (I didn't mean to make that pun but... Dr. Scott will like that one - haha) so, he sure had his work cut out for him. Dr. Scott started off with some jokes why was this important? I was NERVOUS. The jokes helped. Next, he did the most important part (something the other dentist refused to do)... HE LISTENED TO ME. He was kind and he took my pain seriously. He did another root canal and as root canals go, this wasn't as painful as I had braced myself for. When the procedure was finished, I was escorted to the door like I mattered and then, after a few days, a key staff member named, Rita called and checked on me. She didn't act like it was her job or that calling me was a hassle. Rita wanted to know my level of pain (I was doing great) and asked if I needed any further help. I know that no one wants a root canal but, if you have to have one... you might as well go to the specialist the first time. Rita can also give you recommendations on other dentists for cleanings etc (she recommended Dr. Rawley for my needs and I LOVE him too) ---- I know I was a difficult patient. I made an appointment with Dr. Toland for a minor restorative procedure. I basically just needed…read morethe edge of a crown smoothed down. After waiting in the chair for close to 30 minutes while the patient next to me spoke on and on with Dr Toland about every topic under the sun, I went to the assistant to see if the wait would be much longer. She then indicated to the patient that the doctor had another patient waiting. When he came to my chair, he introduced himself and asked what I needed done. He made no attempt to engage in conversation; just spent about 15 minutes working on my tooth, asked me if it felt okay, then left. When I checked out, I was charged $100 for an oral evaluation (5 minutes max), $40 for a single X-ray and $237 for the actual procedure. Total $377. In addition to being significantly overcharged, I felt that Dr. Toland was unfriendly and not very personable. Disappointing and expensive experience.

Being a person who's nervous of going to the dentist, I immediately felt at ease with the warm greeting from the office mascot named Piper, an adorable Yorky dog. I was also greeted with a smile by the office manger Cyndi. My hygienist Deborah was fantastic, gentle with the x-rays and very thorough with my cleaning. Dr. Toland really loves what he does. He developed a plan for me to have some cosmetic work done I've been self conscious about, as well as addressed my overall oral care. Pure, unsympathetic greed…read more Scheduled an appointment with them to get a cavity check and general cleaning as I had a toothache and suspected it might be due to a cavity. Even though I clearly communicated what I wanted done, they refused to check for cavities or do a general cleaning unless I allowed them to do some expensive scaling and root planing first. When I explained that I see a licensed periodontist for that, they claimed they couldn't do anything due to their "policy". Their "comprehensive examination" solely consisted of measuring the pockets of my gums and taking a set of bitewings. For this, they charged my insurance company $214 for what amounted to a wasted visit (why is it that every general dentist insists on being your periodontist too?) Thanks to this experience, I'll be having my periodontist take care of any cavities and fillings going forward and avoiding greedy dentists like this.
