VERY nice folks at this shop. I believe Anthony was the rep I talked with most, he was great, and everyone else I spoke with was more than helpful when I had a question. I'm new to tuning my German car and these folks took the time to explain everything to me and get me rolling proper. The facility is really nice. If you have a waiting appointment there's coffee, bottles water, TV and whatnot. Very clean restrooms too. The work done was spot on, it was done in the time promised for the price quoted. NGP really is awesome. Pricing is very fair and the work is high quality. Staff is very friendly and welcoming and are fellow enthusiasts. NGP did my APR tune, installed my downpipe, springs, rear valence and some other basic boltons and the work is always superb. This may seem a little silly and this may even go unnoticed to some, but when I had my downpipe installed I was obviously impressed with the end result, but I was also really impressed with how they packaged up the OEM one and packed it back in the car for me. They put down cardboard boxes over the folded seats and then put padded foam between the seat backs in case it slid forward. That's an above and beyond type thing and just showed me they really cared. I'll keep coming back here as long as I own a vag product! Thanks guys! read more

I own a 2012 A6 3.0t and of course it comes with a few quirks. I went to Audi which of course costs me over a grand to fix the front brakes and rotors. Here I paid under $500. The service was professional and I was given exact quotes and updated on work performed. If you're in the market to have your car fixed or do some tuning do yourself a favor and just go here. IF YOU HAVE A VW, DON'T TAKE IT TO NGP (NEW GERMAN PERFORMANCE) in Aberdeen, MD!!! How can a small business give such bad service? I took a 2012 Golf R to them twice. Both times I went in with things working fine, and when I left, something stops working! The first time was just to get some simple convenience codes changed. They tried to sell me an additional item that they said was "plug and play" but they couldn't get it to work after 5 hours. They charged me for 2 to 3 hours for their mistake. Worse, when I left, my rear windshield wipers stopped working. When I called them on the way home, they said to bring it back and they would fix it and additionally I would have a credit for service. I went back and 1. they did not fix the original problem, 2. they broke another item, 3. they charged me for not fixing anything, 4. I asked to speak to the owner who did not come out or follow up with a call. Not sure how they got such good reviews. Maybe they don't care anymore. Save yourself the money and hassle. read more

My friend has been telling me about NGP for about a decade. While I've never had any work done here (the only reason I can't give 5 stars), I have just completed a parts purchase from them and I have to say they know how to take care of a customer. Jason worked with me on several questions over the Thanksgiving week and ultimately got me the best price on a set of Neuspeed wheels. Even when Jason was not in the shop, one of his co-workers, Charles, took the time and up with me about another question I had. Then a box showed up at my house containing some nice NGP swag. On 8/6/21 I took my GLI in for the license plate being out and the walnut blasting in hopes of fixing my sputtering problem that's been happening since my tune that they did on my car. A good solution would've been detuning and seeing if it still does it, which was not offered. The service advisor, David, was rude to say the least with less than deplorable behavior. Upon my arrival I told him what I was in for and my car goes back. One hour later he calls me up and tells me my car is throwing all these different codes for my fan not working and then says there's gonna be a diagnosis fee for the sputtering. I told him "no, I told you I wanted the walnut blasting in hopes of fixing the problem, not to diagnosis anything". On top of the $799 for the walnut blasting he wanted to charge an additional $98.53 an hour plus the $98.53 an hour for the license plate light, which I told him was just the wire, plus $590 for the fans. After I told David that my car never showed any signs of over heating he tried to explain that it had been happening for 3 weeks and said he would show me. Being a former service advisor myself, I asked more questions and explained that I am going to be making a big purchase and wanted to be sure I was spending money on something that is needed now and could not wait. David became visibly irritated and said "I'll just pull your car out because you already said you don't have any money and I wanna get paid" and would not show me the what he was talking about and for that reason I will never trust anyone there with my baby again. It seemed as if he knew how much I love and cared for my car and tried to play with my emotions. As a former service advisor I've always treated my customers car how I would've wanted my cared for and hearing doors slammed while standing at the counter read more

Absolutely, hands-down the BEST shop in MD for anything German!!! I started with my 97 Jetta years ago there, and have had my GTI, a Passat, Tiguan, and Rabbit serviced here many times, as well as recommended family to take their cars in for service here. For some reason I always forgot to leave a review over many years of coming to the shop. I moved out of MD just over a year ago and finding a mechanic to replace NGP has been near impossible down here in FL, but even before I left they were helping. Scott gave me some information on reputable places in FL and by contacting them I've found some decent shops locally to me. What finally made me wake up and realize I needed to leave a review was my last call to NGP. I reached out to Jason and Dave about my 2011 Tiguan and a part I was struggling to find, so Dave looks everything up for me and finds out that I need to order an entire assembly to get the small part I need. Instead of trying to up-sell me on the part, he tells me that he found the exact part I need on a parts car he has and that he will just give it to me. But it wasn't even that easy...I live in FL now and he offered to ship it to me even with me not planning on ordering any parts. To me, that is just how this shop is ran and how it has been each and every time I was there. To Dave, Jason, Mike, Scott, and the rest of the crew at NGP: you're literally the one thing I miss about being in MD as I'm not sure I will ever find a shop as honest as you guys. read more

Went in for a mount, balance, and alignment (~$130) on a GTI at the Aberdeen shop. They fit me in on short notice but told me I'd have to wait a while. 3.5 hours to do the service and I get my car back with marred rims. Not only that, they left the adhesive from the previous wheel weights on the rim. Expected a shop of car enthusiasts to take care of my car. Nice guys, semi-reasonable prices, but I am very hesitant to recommend after this. My recommendation: You're obviously reading reviews if you care about your vehicle. If you're going to have something done, make your expectations known BEFORE you give them the keys to your vehicle. Maybe your luck will be better than mine. read more

(Do Not) get a UM tune HERE!! If u have a MK6 Jetta 2.5l .. You WILL be 100% disappointed all the way!. 350$ for a loss of power,errors,etc. and just false advertisement!.. I got my car worked on here @ NGP shop ~ New R8 red coil packs ~ PERFORMANCE ngk platinum/plugs ~UM-stage1 ecu flash(United Motorsports) I wish I woulda researched more before I made decision to come here n have them do the work, but I went by ratings etc. This work coulda been done by myself for half $. No biggy as long as they delivered on what they said was ( best performance upgrade I can get for my N/a car GUARANTEED!!) Well almost $800 later... ... I was told with this UM tune/flash I would not only get a big up in Hp/Tq but Rev hang removed, RPMs boosted from 4000 to 7200 redline ,save on gas, speed limiter/governor disengaged,etc. Well 800$ later just after I left shop this is what I got.. -car wont rev past 4000rpms(@still)same -rev hang ..yep still there. - random loss of power at certain times when shifting gears or not. -cruise control dont work anymore. .. So I, made an attempt/ appt. for NGP to please check this UM flash because something surely went wrong with tune!.. if it was even tuned in 1st place. I got a call from a mgr/etc (Dave) yesterday who was arrogant from beginning telling me that nothing went wrong with tune from what he was already told. That all I listed is normal.. then he said why do u want to rEv past 4000rpms anyway!?.. dumbest shit i have heard (caught me off guard).. well hmm ..because I spent a shit ton of $$ for what you guys advertised on this United motorsports/ UM tune stage 1.(Performance)? He informs me also that when I come in I will be charged for the Re-tune etc. .. may seem like alot to take in but here is the point.. Don't False Advertise!!.. Could of at least said gonna look at your car and see what happened..go from there.False Tune People!!.. becarefull I"m sure there are great guy's who do awesome work there!.. just DONOT get this specific tune!.. stay clear from Dave the Dik! read more
