At my visit on January 23, 2025, I was overcharged $20 for my co-pay. Once I received my explanation of benefits confirming my co-pay should have only been $20, I reached out to the billing manager multiple times to request a refund. Instead of processing my refund, the billing manager kept putting me off, telling me to call back, and claiming they wouldn't issue a refund until they were paid by my insurance. I followed up with my insurance company today and confirmed that a check was sent to them on January 31st--meaning they had already been paid but still refused to return my overpayment. This level of dishonesty and unprofessionalism is unacceptable. If they are willing to mislead a patient and drag their feet over something as small as a $20 overpayment, I can only imagine how they handle more significant billing issues. While I had no issues with the medical care itself and really liked Dr. Chowdhury, the way their billing department operates is unethical. I don't feel comfortable continuing care at a practice that doesn't handle patient payments with integrity. If you choose to go here, triple-check your billing statements and be prepared to fight for your money--and possibly never get it back unless you take legal action. It's been two months now, and I'm done chasing down $20, but they have definitely lost a loyal patient. In addition to this review, I did file a billing complaint with the Texas Medical Board and if you have experienced billing issues with this provider, I would encourage you to do the same.

We had such an amazing experience at the beautiful and welcoming Frisco Birth Center for both births and formed a truly special relationship with Margie that will never be forgotten. Margie is an incredibly kind, gentle, supportive, knowledgeable, and professional midwife who genuinely cares about her clients in a way that is rare in any medical setting. Throughout pregnancy, she promptly answered any questions or concerns that arose, even making herself available between visits as needed, despite her busy schedule. Our older children came with me to prenatal appointments and they adore her as much as we do! She took the time to teach them and let them get involved in finding baby's heartbeat and position, which helped them get so excited to meet their new sibling. Leading up to the birth, we had some unusual findings in one of the blood samples that were run, and she put in extra time and effort to help us find the answers we needed to feel confident in our birth plan. There was also a risk of hemorrhage, but she wisely helped us weigh all of our options before, during, and after the birth so that we could have the safe and beautiful delivery we hoped for. Margie and her assistant midwife, Neta (who is also wonderful), accurately assessed the health of both mom and baby and responded quickly and professionally to any concerns that arose, including a very fast transition and delivery and maternal bleeding. We felt completely safe and empowered throughout the entire process because of Margie's clinical skill and compassionate demeanor. Birth can be unpredictable, and we felt well-informed and supported through every decision. After the birth, her standard of excellence continued, as she made multiple home visits to check on mom and baby and helped empower us make the decisions about his health we were uncertain. My first birth was at a hospital and after doing thorough research, I realized that I deserved better than the care that I had received and knew that I needed a different experience. For my second birth I gave birth at Allen Birthing Center which was fantastic! This third time around, I decided to do several interviews of midwives in the area. I felt an instant connection to Margie and I knew that I wanted to go with her. I was having some financial issues at the time but she allowed me to make a payment plan and get a substantial discount. She really does care about people and want to help in any way possible. If you have formerly received obstetric care, I think you'll find that out-of-hospital midwifery care is a night and day opposite experience. Obstetrics focuses mostly on the baby and is very fear-based. Margie is very holistic in her methods and believes in the woman's body's capability to birth. She knows that the mother's emotional state is just as important as what is going on with her physically. Through our appointments I let her know my goals for my birth, including my desire to birth in an upright position. She made sure that all of my wishes were respected and I obtained the ultimate birth experience that I desired! I am forever grateful for her and consider her a friend. Ladies, please don't be fearful! Our bodies were created for this. Should a hospital transfer be desired or necessary, there is always a plan B and C for those scenarios. She was so professional, despite the fact that my dog was there crying for attention. I came away feeling pampered and relaxed, but also could tell that she actually assisted with my stiff muscles. I have had massages in the past that were relaxing, but I didn't see lasting improvement in my tension level. Or I have had massages where the person worked my muscles deeply, but I came away sore and feeling a bit beaten up. Somehow Jesika is always able to help me relax while also accomplishing a lasting effect without any unwanted soreness. I was so excited that At Peace Massage opened a physical location. While the concept of receiving a massage in my own home seems very appealing, the fact is that my lifestyle (with an 8 year old son and 1 year old dog) doesn't provide a relaxing environment. So her new spa location is PERFECT for me. I enjoyed the addition of hot towels to my treatment this time and look forward to her maybe using hot stones or something in the future, since I noticed she seemed to have that equipment. To my surprise, she has handled each one with every follow up appointment. For example, I thought the lights were too bright, especially when you flip over and face upwards. I've noticed she turns down the lights at that moment. I also thought a heated eye mask would feel much more comfortable, and she remembers to add a heated towel instead of just covering my eyes. Lastly, I had concerns with confirming appointments because I never received confirmation emails after the first appointment. However, she responds to texts within probably 30 minutes and is just extremely professional overall. I recommend Jesika to all my gym buddies and hope they come! Your body will thank you!

I have nothing against Dr. Darwich--she was very kind. However, the practice requires you to meet all seven (or more) of their PAs and OB physicians because there's no guarantee which provider will be on call when you deliver. The blonde sonographer who performed our first ultrasound was incredibly sweet, and that was definitely one of our highlights. The wait times, however, were consistently long. It was always at least 20+ minutes before being brought back, and once I was seen, appointments typically lasted around 1 1/2- two hours--mostly due to waiting. Even the front desk staff admitted they're overloaded with patients and have very limited appointment availability, yet they continue accepting new patients. My favorite appointment was the one scheduled on a Friday at noon during the Craig Ranch Golf Tournament, when the doctor/owner of the practice was selling parking spots. As a pregnant patient, I spent over 10 minutes driving around and competing for parking just to make it to my own doctor's appointment. There seems to be very little coordination within the office. It often felt like the staff wasn't communicating with one another. At one point, my blood type was entered incorrectly as A- instead of A+ in my chart, which was concerning because they told me I would need a RhoGAM shot before realizing the mistake. Billing was also frustrating. I was told I owed $800 and asked if I wanted to pay, but no one could provide a breakdown of the charges. Nothing appeared in my patient portal, and no billing codes had been submitted to my insurance yet? To top it off, during my very first visit, there was dried blood on the floor of the exam room (not mine), which certainly didn't make me feel comfortable. Overall, I'd recommend looking elsewhere if you're hoping for a more organized office, shorter wait times, and a more personalized pregnancy experience.

I got a pretty bad case of COVID and then developed a rare condition called Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP), but Jeannine was there for me every step of the way. She consulted with multiple doctors throughout the rest of my pregnancy and I always felt like I was in the best of hands. During and after the delivery, Jeannine and the rest of the birth team made me feel so supported and encouraged. They were very attentive to all my needs and let me do everything at my own pace. I gave birth to my first daughter in a hospital, but I didn't have the best experience. I wanted something different the next time around. Delivering my second daughter in the birth center was so much better than my hospital birth. I felt encouraged and empowered. Plus, the recovery was much easier. I would definitely recommend Jeannine and Plano Birthplace to any expecting mom.

When I needed additional blood work done they offered to have me bring my laptop and gave me my own room so I could still join my meetings virtually. The time, effort, and consideration they put into every detail and experience is incredible! I can't say enough great things, and I'm blessed to have found them!
