    Roast Pork Chow Mei Fun

The food was good! Service was also pretty good, workers were nice. The atmosphere was nice. Would definitely visit again for lunch sometime

    Crap food...

Terrible order. Hunan Beef was chicken (didn't even know that was on the menu), no fried wonton for hot and sour soup, no chopsticks, no hot mustard, food tastes like dirt. Terrible food, Terrible accuracy on the order. Going back to Taste of Asia - have to drive further but dang, there wasn't anything on the order that wasn't screwed up.

My friend and I were initially drawn to the relatively cheap prices that this place had, seeing as we're both broke college students. However, upon arrival, we saw a hole-in-the-wall kind of place with no one in it (which I now realize I should have been more wary of, seeing as it was dinner time). We decided to dine in, and my friend ordered the chicken fried rice while I ordered the pork w garlic sauce (spicy). I must admit, the food came out quickly, in approximately 5 min or so. I was appalled when I saw what they call "chicken fried rice" served to my friend. I'm surprised that no one else on here has mentioned the odd choice of yellow rice? Along with the fact that it didn't seem stir fried at all. The chicken was practically minced at this point and provided no substance to the dish. Bland, boring, and an utter disappointment. An honest disgrace to fried rice. My dish was not as sad, just more so drowned in garlic sauce. Tasted like it came out of a jar. Also, despite me ordering it as "spicy", it was incredibly sweet. The egg roll was also bland, but at this point I couldn't expect any more from this place. The people were nice enough I suppose, but I definitely have no interest in coming back here.

They hardly speak any English here so if you want to know what traveling to a non-English speaking country is like, this is it. So I've been raised on what chow mein should be like and any quick google search would also agree that this consists of noodles and flavor. So when I ordered chow mein, you could imagine my surprise as what I discovered in my dish was celery soup with some pieces of shrimp. I told them that I ordered chow mein and not whatever this was, and they had the most confused look and continued to explain to me this is what chow mein was and that is how it's always been. I don't know how a noodle dish became celery soup but I was sad at that point.

I ordered from here for the first time tonight because they left a flyer on my door sometime within the last few weeks so i figured i'd give it a try! Overall my meal was very good and I will definitely order again! I ordered chicken lo mein, steak on a stick, egg rolls, and a hibachi chicken combo plate!

Food was horrible, really nice people and great service. The customer service was the only reason this one got a 2 star.

The slowest delivery possible. Took 90 minutes. And the food isn't worth the wait. Any other option is better than this.

A friend & I got to drop in for lunch, and it did not disappoint. The decor hasn't changed much - it's still comfortable & clean. There's free parking in the front & sides of the building. Love: service (kind, helpful); lobster egg rolls (crispy, delicious filling); turkey wrap (soft lavosh bread, dip in honey mustard & tzatziki); sweet potato chips (best in the restaurant game); toffee cake (moist, added praline pecans for crunch)

Garrett suggested Amsterdam for lunch. Located near the Auburn campus, Amsterdam is one of more well known eateries off campus. Students may not have eaten at Amsterdam, but most can point you in the right direction. I've been tricked by appearances before but Amsterdam is in a category of its own. There's a front and a back part of the building. But I didn't know that until we were led to our table in the back. The front part is a typical "smallish" restaurant with tight booths and tables. The decorations of impressionist painters adorn the walls giving the front dining room a warm inviting feel. When we were led to our table, I thought I was being led to the restrooms. We actually went past the restrooms down a small flight of stairs and into another large room. This beautiful back room was oozing the "hidden wine cellar" vibe throughout. There were tables and chairs in the center with smaller tables and chairs lining one wall and booths on another. Then there's a large full service bar lining the 3rd wall and a workstation on the 4th wall. The ceiling with hanging panels of wood moved the light beautifully and impressed me. There was also a large floor to ceiling wine rack next to our 4 top. Gary tried their Omelet. Three eggs served with conecuh sausage, bacon, onions, peppers, cheddar cheese, and potatoes. With the sourdough toast, the plating was immaculate. I didn't get to taste it, but Gary didn't have any deiicions/ Garrett opted for their Brunch special: Apple & Pecan Freeman toast. When it arrived to our table, we immediately noticed the large slices of French toast. As promised, the French toast was topped with slices of peaches and apples and butter brown sugar with white powder sugar as well. Again I didn't get to taste, but I savored it with my eye. Paul and I tried the Amsterdam Burger. He got some fries as his side, but I upgraded my side to a beautifully plated side salad. With the added fried egg, my patty was grilled to a perfect medium with just a hint of pink. Stacked with it was some lettuce, caramelized onions, applewood bacon, spicy pickles, tomato and their traditional burger sauce all squeezed together between 2 bun halves, it has to be stabbed with a long food pick to hold it together. It was juicy, tasty and just Yom Yom Yom Yom. Our server was attentive and checked on us frequently. Other notable menu items include fried brussels, lobster egg rolls, rum salmon, breakfast croissant, snickerdoodle pancakes, steak & eggs, egg white omelet and shrimp & grits. I was told their Crab Cake & Avocado is to die for. Meal prices are on the high end but Amsterdam understands how to elevate Southern comfort food.

Food was amazing as well, I wish they had a broken rice plate with short ribs because that's what I'm familiar with at Vietnamese restaurants, but the marinated beef I got was good, it was more of a bulgogi beef but it was packed with flavor. The mixed vegetables with chicken were pretty good as well, it was packed with flavor, chicken was tender. Now onto the chicken curry, this by far was the best dish on their menu, they only have 1 curry dish and it is a must have, it's like a Papang curry and it's so good. I did try the pho and it was alright, I've tasted better phos but nothing beats the curry here! Thai tea was good but for the price of it I wished it was in a bigger cup, they put it in a slanted cup and it was weird but you could take probably 3-5 sips and it'll be gone. The place was very clean, it was busy when we went so that probably means the food is good. Overall, if you're in the area, check this place out you won't be disappointed!

Tonkotsu ramen's basic flavor profile is fat, salt, and (in the case of black tonkotsu) garlic. It is an incredibly rich, salty, and filling dish. The broth should be creamy as a result of all the fat, collagen, and gelatin extracted by cooking pork bones for over a long period. Mizu Ramen is none of these things. It is a thin, watery dish devoid of flavor. Either the base of the soup was not cooked long enough, or they're cheaped out on the amount of bones used. I found myself pouring soy sauce into it just to make it somewhat salty. You don't even get a shaker of furikake or some vinegar for the table! While Mizu avoids a 1 star rating on account of the fact that it's not disgusting and the service isn't bad per se, I cannot recommend it as a much better ramen chain, UMAMI, is only 7 minutes away.
