The chicken in both mine and my husband's dishes was undercooked and inedible. He scarfed down a few pieces before we discovered this and was sick as a consequence. My friend and I were initially drawn to the relatively cheap prices that this place had, seeing as we're both broke college students. However, upon arrival, we saw a hole-in-the-wall kind of place with no one in it (which I now realize I should have been more wary of, seeing as it was dinner time). We decided to dine in, and my friend ordered the chicken fried rice while I ordered the pork w garlic sauce (spicy). I must admit, the food came out quickly, in approximately 5 min or so. I was appalled when I saw what they call "chicken fried rice" served to my friend. I'm surprised that no one else on here has mentioned the odd choice of yellow rice? Along with the fact that it didn't seem stir fried at all. The chicken was practically minced at this point and provided no substance to the dish. Bland, boring, and an utter disappointment. An honest disgrace to fried rice. My dish was not as sad, just more so drowned in garlic sauce. Tasted like it came out of a jar. Also, despite me ordering it as "spicy", it was incredibly sweet. The egg roll was also bland, but at this point I couldn't expect any more from this place. The people were nice enough I suppose, but I definitely have no interest in coming back here. read more

They hardly speak any English here so if you want to know what traveling to a non-English speaking country is like, this is it. So I've been raised on what chow mein should be like and any quick google search would also agree that this consists of noodles and flavor. So when I ordered chow mein, you could imagine my surprise as what I discovered in my dish was celery soup with some pieces of shrimp. I told them that I ordered chow mein and not whatever this was, and they had the most confused look and continued to explain to me this is what chow mein was and that is how it's always been. I don't know how a noodle dish became celery soup but I was sad at that point. read more

Food was just decent. Hot n Sour soup wasn't spicy enough for me. Hunan Beef with vegetables was just good. Fried rice wasn't even fried rice. It was yellow rice with very few peas and onions in it. Decent take out with good sized portions. The food is just ok when compared to other local take out places but I do love their egg drop soup here. It's my favorite place to come when I am sick or feeling under the weather I'll just come up here and get a large egg drop soup and I'm feeling better. Is this Americanized Chinese? Yes Do they speak great English? No Are they friendly? Yes Are the prices good? Yes Would I change a thing? Absolutely not! This has been my go-to Chinese take out in Auburn for about 10 years. I know exactly how to word my order so it's easily understood by them every time. We always get the large general tsos chicken, no vegetable with white rice and an extra white rice. Great every time, although sometimes it is hotter than others. One of the biggest things I miss about California is boba / milk tea / bubble tea, so I was SUPER excited to learn that Auburn had it. Everything looked promising - tacky sign in the window advertising Taiwan bubble tea, hole in the wall style and decor, small little asian woman... but wow, the bubble tea is easily THE WORST bubble tea I've ever had. Way too much sugar! It was poorly mixed and a lot of it was settled at the bottom of the cup. The tea also had a slightly off putting flavor and tasted artificial. To top it off, the boba was terribly undercooked. I couldn't even bite through them. The center was as hard as a rock. When I spit them out, they looked like shriveled pieces of dried up rabbit poo. I do have to give props to the male caucasian cashier, who busted out some mandarin when speaking to his boss. read more

The food is very cheap and pretty good. It is not authentic Chinese food for the most part, rather the Americanized version of it (fried dumplings are actually deep fried, most chicken dishes are extremely sweet and breaded, etc.) Very friendly servers who speak below-average English. Service is pretty fast. Go for lunch- their specials are $5.50 for a dish, fried rice, and soup. read more

It was okay at best. It is about a half mile from work and they are pretty fast getting the food to the table. We had a few issues, no peanuts were in the Kung Pao chicken. And the chicken was extremely dry. The General Tso chicken again chicken was dry and the sauce tasted like Buffalo Wong sauce. The egg drop soup was pretty good however the noodles on top were stale. I hope it was a bad day for them that day. Will give one more chance. read more

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Auburn area. I always dine in and get the chicken & broccoli with fried rice and it is always hot and fresh! Store is clean and staff is nice! One of the workers knows my order by heart. I have also tried the sweet and sour chicken also which is great. Would definitely recommend for quick, fresh Chinese food. read more

Didn't feel like driving to the mall for my usual famous wok..so thought I'd give them a try with them being right down the street . Simply horrible! ordered generals chicken combo, and what I got was chicken in some red sauce that had no spice or really no taste, almost tasted like ketchup. Never again. This is the best Chinese pickup in Auburn hands down. The sweet and sour chicken is really good along with the egg drop soup. They are so nice and the pickup time is really quick. Definitely my favorite for some quick, cheap, easy, and tasty Chinese food. They also gave us a really pretty wooden tiger rollout calendar at the end of the year. Not bad for American Chinese take out. Although the dishes taste the same with whatever thick sauce they use that sort of melds the flavor together so you can't tell the difference between chicken and broccoli. Also the seafood dishes are full of imitation crab meat. Please add some real flavors to your dishes and I'll order again. read more

This place is so close to me but the worse food I've ever eaten in a Chinese restaurant. I wish it were better. It saddens me that these people won't look at the reviews and change cooks or the food. They chopped their vegetables up so fine you can't taste them it is awful. Leave please and let someone else open there. Ok yea you will stick to the floor, the decor sucks and their English sucks.... That said the food is volcano hot and I'm pretty sure that burns the germs off. I have been eating here for over 4 years and never had anything less than awesome food. They are friendly and despite always wondering if they heard a phone order right they have never messed up my order. I ordered lunch time pick up. There was only one other customer when I got there. I expected the food to be good by the looks of the place. It was clean, you could clearly see the kitchen and the cooks working. I was wrong, for the most part. The fried wontons were chewy and obviously had been sitting out for quiet a while. They were so bad I literally could not eat them, and gagged. The egg drop soup was like jelly. It was so slimy and thick that it looked too unappealing to eat. It was also flavorless. I will say that the fried rice and Kung poa chicken were both okay, as was the egg roll. The kung poa tasted like any typical Chinese take out, but the chicken pieces were so tiny you couldn't even really taste them. There were also maybe 5 peanuts in the whole thing. The fried rice was yellow fried rice.. which in my opinion isn't really fried rice. But, it was good. Probably the best thing I got out of the whole meal. I paid $10.64, which is waaay to pricey for cold, chewy, flavorless food. I'm only giving it 2 stars because the customer service was great. They were really nice. But good personalities don't make the food any better. read more

This place is above average for a strip-mall located, bought-from-Chinese-restaurant-wholesaler sign having, fast food Chinese restaurant. Why would you expect them to speak good English?
