My husband and I ate lunch here. We both really enjoyed our meals. I had the noodle soup with the Tom Yum base and rice noodles. I opted for no quail eggs. The soup was hearty and very filling. I'll probably have another two meals out of my leftovers. My husband had the sesame chicken and he said it's some of the best that he has had. I tried the sauce that the chicken came in, and it was great. I feel like most Asian dish sauces I've had are made with corn syrup or a lot of sugar, but this sauce was not like that at all. I'm really happy that this spot exists amidst everything else going on in Auburn. This spot I guess rebranded from Qpot which you can find reviews of as well. The sauce bar is excellent with all the staple elements to make your perfect sauce as well as some uncommon additions I appreciated! (chopped fresh chillies, MSG, Lao Gan Ma bottle on the side) The food came out promptly and the broths I chose (Sichuan spicy and Mushroom) were so yummy and on point. I'm a stickler for the right amount of spice and peppercorns in a good Sichuan broth and I was pleasantly surprised that the broth hit the spot. We went to lucky pot after the Iron Bowl around 10:30pm, mostly because other restaurants in the area had already closed and Lucky Pot was one of the few still open. We are so glad we went, though, it was a great experience! The staff was friendly even though we entered close to closing time, food was fresh, hot and delicious and we had plenty to take home with us afterwards. They don't give that much veggies at all with your hot pot order. Other places I've been to give a huge tray! The soup was pretty good. We got the seafood one with 2 pots. The fish was cloudy looking. We didn't cook the rest. The octopus wasn't very clean tasting. We got fried spring rolls and they delish. The food is really good (my fav hotpot in Auburn and I drop by here every week), but I do not understand why we have to wait for 30 min to one hour for the hotpot EVERY time! Today I waited too long and suffered low blood sugar symptoms. Hotpot is among the most effortless food. Vegetables and meat are ready to go and the only thing for the kitchen is to boil the soup! It seems they have only one waiter and one chief to take care of hotpot and cooked dishes, both dine-in and to-go. Almost impossible! Why can the boss hire more people?
