I Just had a 90-minute massage at Broad & Wall Wellness! The therapist started with a wonderful…read moreashiatsu (back-stepping) massage, using her body weight to deeply work out the knots in my back. It was the perfect balance of firm pressure and adjusting my back.  She then moved on to using a Gua Sha jade hammer to scrape my back, which really increased the blood flow and released a lot of tension. I guess her hands got tired, as she kept saying my back strong - yeah super tight, all my therapists say so (both men and women).  The massage also incorporated elements of tui na and Thai yoga stretching, which was perfect for targeting my chronically tight shoulders. The therapist commented that I must have a strong constitution, as she was able to apply a lot of deep pressure without me flinching or groaning. I remember going to Suchada in SF and the guy next to me was in agony, um you can always ask for lighter pressure (groaning in agony bothers other patrons - be considerate ask for Swedish) For me, I think the only place I had to ask for lighter was in Bali, the 4ft skinny lady was super strong back when, and i went everyday as it was $4 eventually got used to the pressure.. Anyway, as someone who gets regular deep tissue, thai, tui na, ashiatsu, and sports massages, I really appreciated the therapist who was trying her best to get the knots out with every tool in her arsenal. Didnt get her name though so cant share here.  Overall, this was one of the best massages I've had in NY. The combination of techniques left me feeling relaxed yet energized. My back and shoulders feel so much better. I'll definitely be returning to Broad  & Wall Wellness in the future.

I came in because 3 weeks ago a man named Chin gave me a very good foot massage. I asked for him but he wasn't available. They said they had a good man for me and that he was very very good so I said ok. I asked for a one hour foot massage. He massaged me for just a little over 30 minutes , like 40 minutes then finished and waited by the exit, I paid for the 60 minutes and he made pretend he didn't understand English when I told him he didn't do the hour but I tipped him $15 anyway. He knew he only massaged for 30 minutes but let me pay for the hour because I was American. So he made more than the $15 tip because he kept the extra between the 30 minute massage and the 60 minutes massage. They took advantage of me because I was American . I am very disappointed with them, they put a dishonor on Chinese people. shame, shame, shame. If you are American. Stay away from.

First I was led into one of the massage rooms behind a curtain where I undressed and laid under a sheet until they came in. They massaged me through the sheet for about 30mins. They really got all of the knots out of my shoulders. Moving from the shoulders down to my legs/feet. Then went back up and moved the sheet down to massage my back directly with oil. Then moved onto my arms/hands. It ended with a hot stone massage which I wasn't expecting but then all of a sudden I felt something hot on my back. At first I was caught off guard but it felt great to get a quick hot stone massage in the winter. I don't think I could do a complete one because it was a bit hot. It was topped off with a hot wet towel to clean the oil off my back and then a scalp massage. It was a pretty good full body massage and I would definitely go back for one.

Katie is a very gracious woman. My massage was almost as good as I've ever had, finished with a warm towel. I went in extremely sore and left feeling fine, fixed up, so no complaints here. Best to call in advance, but I needed no appointment. The location and ambiance is workaday. It's a basement apartment with carpet and furniture like you might get on Craigslist, so it's cozy but no-frills. You massage is in a small room partitioned and curtained from the main space. Bland possibly-relaxing music plays softly in the background. In short, the place is sparse and comfortable--totally fine, but I'd say this is what will keep it from a fifth star. If you were pickier than I was, you might be a little less happy here, and I think some simple upgrades to furniture and decor will be what makes this place perfect. But they have some nice attention to detail--fake potted plants on the staircase down from the street to the iron barred door brighten the feeling a bit. Value is very good. Prices are somewhat under a dollar a minute for longer massages; the longer the massage the better the value. I don't think you could find a better price in the city, so this place excels in this regard.
