Not in the mood for "fast food", I stopped in here looking for something close to a traditional…read moremeat-egg-and-cheese breakfast sandwich and a coffee. As you walk in, there's a case of bakery-type items along the wall and butter-creme frosted cakes displayed under the order counter. I asked the man behind the counter if they have cooked food. They don't, but he offered me the alternative to what I had described, a torta. If you're as "American apple pie" as I am, looking around the shop, its easy to confuse a "torta" with a "tarte" or pastry. The "torta" here is a pressed sandwich, filled with meat that he called 'turkey ham' (he assured me that it was not pork), onions, tomato, cheese, avocado and jalapeños if you can handle 'em. While I waited for the young lady to make my torta, the gentleman offered me a choice of complimentary baked treat to try. Who here doesn't love a free sample!? Ok! He rattled off some of the names, but had me at cheesecake! I took them both to-go, mainly because, although there was a cooler full of cold drinks and soda, I couldn't find a hint/whiff of coffee in the place. I would've asked but I'd reach my personal 'question quota' with the sandwich. DELICIOUS, by the way! I like that the press left the bread crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and all the sandwich fixins were still crispy & cool-not soggy or melty. The cheesecake looks kinda like a lemon square, has a cookie-cake texture bottom crust and a 'cheese danish' type filling that's nicely browned on the top. The serving is big enough to split for now & later-which I had every intention of doing. But, I mean, who was I kidding?! It was YUMMY. This place is fairly new, so I hope it'll add hot drinks (if it doesn't already have them...) and a to-go menu with descriptions, so I can decide what I want to try, ahead of my next visit.

Handmade flour tortilla folded into a large taco with scrambled eggs, avocado, Salvadoran sour cream, and refried beans. Simply delicious. Walked away with a coffee, tamales, and some of their gorgeous fresh baked breads.

Kat at Lush Cakery is AMAZING! She made my wedding cakes and the were perfect. I tried several…read moredifferent cake places in the area and nothing came close to Lush Cakery. Kat truly appreciates flavor and design. She was a delight to work with throughout the entire process, even after changing our original date. The tasting is personalized and you get large portions of very delicious cake. We tasted 5 flavors during our tasting but ended up choosing 2 flavors: lemon and salted caramel. Both were perfectly flavored and the cakes were fluffy with a moist crumb. During the tasting and in the monthly leading up to our wedding, Kat worked with us to perfect the design. We were not the traditional wedding cake design couple and she helped us design a cake that fit the geometric vibe of our wedding. She even helped me plan a surprise grooms cake for my fiancé that was a fun Waffle House theme (sort of a weird obsession in our family). For this flavor, we picked chocolate peanut butter. The final product at our wedding was both beautiful and the best cake I've ever eaten! The consistency in her cakes is incredible. They tasted exactly like the single slices from our original tasting despite being in massive cakes for 170 guests. And our guests raved about the cakes! I cannot recommend Kat and Lush Cakery enough! Look no further for perfectly delicious and elegant wedding cakes! It's so good that we will continue getting every specialty cake from her! You have clients for life, Kat!

But cakes from this shop are crowd-favorites! Everyone at my wedding raved about the cake, even months later people still brought it up. I highly recommend this business.
