Remove your preconceived notions that a brewpub is a suburban, corporate owned Chilis in disguise and you'll love Never Summer Brewing. Kirk is the man. And that is literal. It's just Kirk: the brewmaster, the bartender, the host, the owner. It's all Kirk. Very good beers - usually 4-6 on tap ranging from IPA to lager and Saison to stout. All good. The vibe, again, is not polished, it's Kirk. That means tile and indoor- outdoor carpet, solid wood table tops, string lights - and grain bag art. The bathroom is clean but may throw you off. So dig the vibe before you go. Lots of locals along with folks driving through town. No food, but Kirk will offer you free pretzels. Outside food is allowed. read more

Great spot! My friends and I were hanging out in Grand Lake for a bachelor party and decided to make the short drive over for a couple brews. While the interior is humable, it has plenty of seating and all the necessary elements for a good time - dart board and board games included. The beers were all interesting in their own right. I stuck with the brown sour ale which I liked, but my friends that got flights found them all reasonably enjoyable, even if there were one or two that weren't crowd favorites. For me, that's part of the fun of beer brewing - you take the great with the OK. Overall, I think it's awesome this spot is here and open for business - especially in the offseason between summer and skiing weather! read more

This is a hole-in-the-wall spot with a small selection of good beer. We got a flight to try each kind and the pilsner was especially tasty. I liked the Bigfoot artwork, but otherwise the decor leaves much to be desired. Definitely don't go here for the vibes but overall it's a decent mountain town brewery. read more

After shredding 25" of powder at Winter Park/Mary Jane, I decided to stay at the Headwaters Hostel in Granby to not have to drive the pass back to Denver. Found this brewery on Yelp and decided to give it a try to have some cold beers. Glad I stopped by and wish more people would visit Nick's place. I was the only one there on a Friday, but the snow was coming down sideways outside. Had a great conversation with Nick and sat by the window to watch the world go by. The place is next to a kid's consignment store and there are plenty of seats and coaches to sit down to enjoy Nick's wonderful beer. I had 3 beers - Total Hopulation IPA, Big Swig Porter, and Wiley-Garry Pale Ale in that order. The IPA had a western fruity flavor and was smooth. The Porter was spot on with the sweet malty flavor and the Pale Ale went down before I even knew it. Loved the beer and hope to visit again on my next trip out there. read more

Its only about 30 feet from the barrel to the bar at this micro brewery. Most of the time the beer you saw last time won't be there since he is always doing something different. If you are interested in a quiet place to sip some brew and eat some pretzels and are in Granby then drop by. Coolest little brewery I've EVER been too and I had the best beer I've ever tasted there. I'm quite sad that I cannot get his beer at any store or shipped to my place, but I'm glad I got to experience the goodness! Small, local hidden gem in downtown Grandby. They have high tops, a leather couch and some bar seating as well. You can buy brewing gear here and homemade soaps when you walk in. Never Summer Brewing has several games to choose from like checkers and Connect Four to play while you enjoy a beer. We played about 16 rounds of Connect Four while there. Very fun! My husband and I had the place to ourselves for a while before a few locals came by later in the evening. I sipped on their 7 Utes Belgian Golden beer all night which was fantastic. It was smooth with notes of banana, fruit and very low hops. Really unique flavor where you could taste about 3 different things at once. Similar to a really good hefeweizen but so creamy! Be careful with this beer though as it's ABV is 7.8%. My husband had their Belgian Dubbel which had a smooth malty taste with great flavor and low hops. I really liked his beer too! Both were very easy to drink. The owner is very nice and easy going. Thank you for the awesome beer and time! read more

To be honest the interior left a lot to be desired but the beers were pretty good (not amazing) for such a small operation. If you're stopping through town, it's a nice spot to stop for a brew. Overall: Beers are decent but don't expect a lot of frills when you walk inside. read more

Everyone was super nice here. The beer selection was small but definitely varied enough that everyone will be able to have a taste of something they like. We stayed up the hill near Granby Ranch so this was super convenient to our location for vacay. If you like piney and refreshing beers, hooray! I went there twice and both times were super welcoming. I brought homemade cookies and the bartender and patrons were happy to join me with snacking and good conversation! It's a very casual place but a great spot in the middle of a somewhat rural mountain town. If you're staying in Granby or driving by as a rest stop for a beer....it's a convenient location right off the main road. No, it's not filled with trendy superlatives...it's made to be a local spot to grab a locally brewed beer. We were happy to visit this place a few times on our trip since everyone was so nice. Quality beer, friendly people, and very comfortable couch to sit on and read the local paper if you want. Overall, a wonderful gem! read more

Was driving through Granby Colorado May 18th. Stopped in for dinner across the street. I had looked up Never Summer Brewery and really wanted to stop in. By the time dinner was done, it was past closing time for Never Summer. But as we walked to the car, we saw a flashing open sign and decided to check it out. We were greeted with smiles. We asked "are you still open?" The response was "Are you drinking beer?" "Yes" "Then yes" Off to a good start! Sampled a few beers thought most were really good. The light/wheat beer was amazing. All the customers were nice as well as the owner and workers. Instantly felt at home. If you want to do a little shopping, they also sell homemade soap and beer making supplies. Fun spot. Made me wish we were staying in Granby. Will definitely swing by again when in the area. read more

Named after the nearby mountain range, this small craft brewery servers up delicious beer brewed and the beers are personally served by the brewery owner Kirk Main. The tasting area only seats a handful of people at the hand crafted, beetle kill pine wood bar. Kirk is an gracious, unassuming host and his beers are tasty. We tried them all and loved his Bowen Peak IPA. We'll be returning in a couple days to try his pale ale which was still aging when we arrived. Kirk's brewing capacity is merely one barrel. read more

Great selection! We felt very welcome here - Austin was knowledgeable of the beer and the area - very friendly. They have seating for 5 at the bar and about 15 more at various tables. Games to play while you enjoy your beer or taste the flights... and hand-crafted orange soda for those not of sampling age for the brews. Our group tried the flights available today. Best brewery in Grand County! Every beer is true to form, but I especially love the Pale Ale. Also really good IPA, very good Irish Red, splendid Weiss... Personally, I don't like the gross flavor or "belgian" beers or the excessive alcohol of "imperial" beers. This place has neither. Just exemplary, drinkable, delicious beer. He is more than happy to sit with you and talk through his process. The Pale Ale was my favorite, but the Berliner Weisse was also so tasty (even for a Belgian beer)! It was the sign that lured me inside after shopping the children's consignment store next door. Step inside and have a beer. Sounded good to me! Tried a few samples, all of which were delicious. The best thing was the serendipitous find - not only two growlers with Belgian Double and German Kolsch for Christmas presents, but the handmade soaps on the way out. This is a winning place - it needs better signage, coming soon, but now that I know the gems inside I'll definitely return often for both beer and soap (peppermint, lavender, and oatmeal scrub). read more
