A dive brewery with good beer. It's a tiny place inside, but does have a relatively decent amount of outside seating. No frills though, in keeping with the dive atmosphere. Lumpy ridge main location is a fun old converted gas station! While small and cozy it ranks as a top brewery in Estes and we love to come. They have added another location right downtown too! Beer is damn good. I lean towards their IPA and sometimes the Pale ale. This is definitely part of your brewery tour! Steve and I got to enjoy another Colorado based beer and a New Zealand inspired beer which proved to be a very pleasant combination! We had the New Zealand Pilsner which we really liked. Much of our fondness for this beer was the fact it was a Pilsner which we love and the fact it's New Zealand influenced. So far any beers that we have had with this influence we have enjoyed a lot! Flavor features with this beer are dry, hoppy and a pleasant acidic quality to the flavor profile. The beer is nice and smooth and light bodied which is what we prefer on most beer experiences regardless what the time of year it may be. read more

Unsure of what to get, we started with a flight of the RANCHO DELUXE WESTERN AMERICAN LAGER, the NEW ZEALAND PILSNER, the OGG'S FM(F^#K'N MAGIC) GERMAN AMBER LAGER, and the WINTER BREEZE COCONUT DARK LAGER. I liked the winter breeze the best, while my wife preferred the German Amber lager. We each enjoyed a few of those while sitting outside on a nice day. Not much seating inside but plenty outside. I ordered the dark lager with coconut which was smooth and tasty due to the hint of coconut. The clear lager was light and crisp and I would recommend both beers after a long day of hiking in RMNP. I loved the vibe of this place because it was divey and the bartender was super cool! Definitely recommend this brewery to grab a beer. read more

I liked this place. It's in an old gas station which is certainly providing a unique ambiance. It's small, meaning that maybe 4 people can fit at the bar... not a problem, but that leaves about two feet for everyone else to place their order for beer. Aside from that I think the rating would be five stars. They have food, but we didn't order any since we had freshly caught Trout back in our RV for dinner. Service was good, given the tight quarters and the fact that one person was running the whole show. For the beer... which is the magic point here... I give them a five. Plenty of choices outside of the usual box... like a spiced beer, the Lost in the Sauce a sour ale brewed with Lost Sauce's mango habanero sour mix. A touch of heat and mango sweetness. It was my favorite in the flight of four that I tried. Just the right amount of heat. Second to that was a seltzer... their Helter Seltzer - it's a Hard Seltzer made w/champagne yeast and all kinds of fun fruity flavors. It was a light pink and was quit refreshing. And I'm not a big seltzer fan. They have a lot of random outdoor seating. A picnic table, a patio table (with very comfortable chairs), some seating inside a wooden fenced area... etc. The randomness adds to the gas station atmosphere. I would go back. read more

We love a good dive bar or a local spot but this was not the place to go. The beers were off tasting, there were no other alcoholic options, and some of the employees were RUDE. One of my travel buddies and her husband were sitting at an outdoor table when two elderly people came in with food. She graciously offered to move and share the table so they could sit down, to which the incredibly snippy response of the older woman was something along the lines of we work here we know that. So sit anywhere you please, don't give attitude to someone who was being nice and offering you a seat. Beer with a view! They have an outdoor patio overlooking the mountains. You can also sit inside and talk with the bartender and have a view. The beer was tasty. Parking was easy. What a fun place! My husband and I went here last night when we were in town & we were the only non-locals, but the locals welcomed us in and we were part of the conversation. It's a real small spot in an old gas station, but the beer was great as was the happy hour BOGO special. I'm sure in the summer they have a lot of outdoor seating, but in the cold days there is probably only seating for 25 or so. We've now been to all the breweries in Estes and I'm kind of sad we saved this one for last because it's probably my favorite between beer, atmosphere and service. read more

Went here for the first time this past Friday. This brewery is in a old gas station so it is very tight and small. 3 tables at the bar. Most of the tables are outside. They had 8 beers on tap. Bartender was very friendly. We were able to sit inside at the bar. They do bottle some of their beers in bombers. We ordered the Finish Sahti and the Dark Wheat. Very delicious beers. This place was very busy when we got there. This was our 200th brewery in the state of Colorado. And after going to many breweries we have found that the best beers come from the smallest breweries. These beers were very good. We did buy a bottle to go. We bought Thurman's Stout and we are very excited to try. We will def be back when we are in Estes! Cheers! read more

It's not bad. Very small and kind of awkward inside. The day we went it was rainy/snowy and the immediate bar was full. Realized you can in a side room and order thru the window. Taste was decent. Wanted takeout but they don't do crowlers, they do have 6 packs but we were flying out and couldn't drink a whole 6 pack. read more

Came here after a quick hike before dinner. It's one of the few breweries in Estes Park, but probably one of (if not the) oldest. It had a cool, local vibe, and you could tell a lot of people from around Estes frequent the spot. It's a super tiny space with a covered and heated patio, so we didn't have too much of a problem finding a spot to sit. They have a really great option of a sampler, and all their beers were pretty good. If you're a light beer drinker, this isn't your spot, as they like their flavor. Stopped here early evening on a Saturday. Very small, local establishment. Good beer. Very friendly staff.

We dropped in for a flight of beers and a game of cribbage on a Saturday afternoon and really enjoyed ourselves. The location is a funky, fun former gas station/convenience store on the hill that provides a nice small indoor area to enjoy their beers while looking out on the lake and surrounding hills. All the beers we had were tasty and the service was friendly and welcoming. We'll be coming back next time we're here in Estes. read more

Great brewery with a view. So in my opinion if you make good beer and your in a prime location have good service and a cool atmosphere you get five stars! Well lumpy ridge does not disappoint. I've driven by many times but this time I finally had the chance to stop by. Based in and old gas station this place immediately meets the atmosphere piece of the five star puzzle. Met by a happy beer barista I sampled four beers for a modest price. Closing in on my favorite I then picked a pint and settled in. This place was filled with like minded people. Dog friendly and comfy there was nothing not to like. I enjoyed all the beers I tried and especially he collaborated pint with a brewery from my place of birth. We really enjoyed the outdoor seating (small and about 50 seats). Dogs were welcome, but I will say the 10 dogs that were there seemed a bit crowded. We had a 4-taste flight and bought the $2 pretzels, then retired to the indoor room (outdoors limited seating was full). The room smelled of old beer, but the view was phenomenal - but that's not really a surprise in Estes! Beer was good, but not all glasses were the same size - close, but not the same. No lagers or pilsners on tap. A good brewery will host an annual lager or pilsner however this selection was typical with IPAs and Pale Ales. Staff had an issue with card reader and ended up complementing our beers for free. Nice owners. read more
