You can tell they really care about what they're building here. The wine selection is excellent, and their flights are a steal at just $14. They also offer meads, mulled cider, and an entirely new food menu that pairs perfectly with the drinks. There's clearly a lot of thought going into the experience now. We also heard a new deck area is coming soon, plus plans for a paella night--which honestly sounds amazing and gives us even more reason to come back. If you haven't been to Snowy Peaks recently, it's absolutely worth another visit. They're doing great things and it's becoming a must-stop spot in Estes Park.

Humble vibes inside, a simple U-shaped bar top with seating all around, a few smaller tables, a community table, and a large patio with mostly picnic table seating. If you're lucky, snag a stool right along the Big Thompson River! Though, I recommend they fix the wooden placeholders for beers, they're leaning on the wrong side of history, we don't want any full glasses of beer reaching an unnecessary demise! Interference IPA * American IPA * 6.7% * 16oz ($7) From their website: "Climbing the Interference Boulder in Rocky Mountain National Park requires strength and power. This Colorado IPA showcases the power of hops with an intense blend forging citrus aromas with a pine forward finish. Featured ingredients: Cascade, El Dorado, Mosaic, Chinook, & Simcoe hops * Recommended adventure: hiking Black Lake, climbing the Twin Owls, skiing upper Hidden Valley." A perfectly apt description. We were the bartender's first set of customers and she was very warm to us and our two little kids. We enjoyed tasters of their beers while the kids had our packed snacks. Bill, the owner and winemaker is such a sweet guy. As soon as we pulled up he came out to greet us and invite us in. He has some fun stories to tell about all of the wines we tasted(8 in all). I really liked all of his wines but especially the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and the Cab. Almost all of he wines are made with grapes from California but he grows some interesting varietals himself. He is an excellent experienced wine maker. The tasting is a great value at $10 but if you buy a bottle he waives the tasting fee. He also gave us a half glass pour to drink while We walked around the beautiful gardens. It was such a lovely place and his welcoming spirit really makes it extra special. If you like wine and are in the area this is a must see/do. Also, please note, you can bring your own cheese plates etc to enjoy with the wine tasting.

When I came I saw that this place is basically a smaller mom-and-pops winery, which offered 4 of their own wines, including other wines that they imported and fermented themselves. So, I just ordered their own wines. You can taste 4 wines from a list. Luckily, all 4 were from their own Colorado home vines. I sat outside at a table looking over their vineyards. I ended up buying a single glass of their white wine. I had a good time and the prices weren't bad. Plus, they had a few cute pups (Tucker the Golden Retriever!) come up to me to keep me company. Rocky Mountain Discount Liquor was open late enough on the Sunday evening we arrived to accommodate us during their last 30 minutes of operating hours. The store has the feeling of a well-stocked local liquor store. Prices for beer were as expected, liquor seemed a little higher than I'm used to in Texas, also not unexpected in a small mountain town. The owner was quite friendly and helpful. I visited during COVID-19 so I never saw his face. But, he had smiley eyes and assisted me in finding several items I needed. Our group was curious about local craft beers and found a decent selection from the four local breweries and from Avery Brewing in Boulder, of which we are also fans. The store is conveniently located on the west end of town, not far from where we were staying. Had a great experience!
