I had the opportunity of hearing Hayley speak in a NMS class, but when I saw she was offering her own series I knew I needed to sign up. My daughter is newly 1 and I found all of the class topics and resources extremely beneficial and helpful for my husband and I. Hayley cares about your personal parenting stories, difficulties and even shares from her own experiences. Even though the class typically meets in person I did not feel that the zoom environment took away from the experience at all. It actually made it a lot easier and flexible for me. The best part of the class for me was the ability to ask questions every week in regards to issues I was currently experiencing. Hayley was able to give me immediate guidance, support and resources to look at for help. I felt that hearing other people's struggles and stories also helped me in feeling supported. I am walking away from this class with tons of information, guidance and resources! So much that I will need to go back and refer to. I also have multiple authors, handouts, articles that have helped shape and transform my parenting methods. I am also walking away with an entirely new understanding of how kids grow, learn and behave. This class has truly helped me gain more of an understanding, tolerance and patience for my daughter, myself and my husband. Hayley makes it sound so easy and logical, when it feels like nothing makes sense. I've recommended this class to all my mom friends! Carmen, who helped lead the group, is amazing. She is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and always makes me feel heard. She gives thoughtful advice and truly cares about the moms and babies she works with. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does. I've also attended several music classes with Michelle, and those have been some of my favorites. It is…read moresomething I am very interested in, as I want my little girl to grow up feeling confident and happy, and believe in her ability to do just about anything. The session was lovely. We were a group of 7 mothers, and the feeling was intimate and friendly, even though I didn't know all the women that participated. During the session Lital explained what can harm our child's self esteem and gave us plenty of day-to-day examples. She gave us great tools and explained how to communicate with our children better, and make them feel more confident and believe in themselves. This has been a month ago and I still use these tools on a daily basis. I can't wait for the next session.

Where do I even start! I signed up for the Second Time Mom Class even though this was my third…read morebaby. And honestly, I felt a little silly registering, assuming I'd "been there, done that." I could not have been more wrong. I was completely blown away by how much I learned, used, and genuinely needed. Each week brought in a different expert, and the range of knowledge was incredible. Everything from marriage and relationship tips to improve the flow of your household, to managing toddler behavior, baby and toddler sleep, even a professional that helped me identify diastasis recti. There was something valuable in every single session, no matter how many kids you already have at home. And then there's the community you build. Having a weekly group of intelligent, supportive women to lean on during one of the most overwhelming seasons of life was invaluable. Its the kind of thing you don't know you need until you experience it. Becca, our group leader and the owner, made all the difference in our group. She's warm, incredibly knowledgeable, and clearly has an amazing network of resources, because every week felt exactly like what we needed. I signed up for Daddy Boot Camp thinking the more knowledge I could get under my belt before our…read morelittle one arrived, the better. Most of the baby-prepping material out there (books, magazines, apps, websites) are geared towards the Moms-to-be. So when a friend recommended something for Dads taught by Dads, I was intrigued. And I wasn't let down. The format - a bunch of dudes talking in a room, basically - is so simple and so helpful. We had one overall moderator, about 20+ Dads-to-be, and another 4 or 5 new Dads with their babies. We talked about our concerns, listened to suggestions, and interacted with the babies when possible. For someone who'd rarely been around infants, it was a great opportunity for me to really get past any fears I had. Even got to change a few diapers during the course of class, which once our little one arrived, prepared me better than any other class my wife and I had taken at the hospital. Have already recommended the class to friends and would absolutely encourage other Dads-to-be to attend. It's such a simple concept yet it was so immensely helpful.

Would I recommend this to A LOT of expecting fathers? Yes…read more My wife and I are in social circles where there are plenty of little ones around so we have some kid/baby experience. In addition we have done a lot of research to prepare for this new phase, making this class a bit redundant. I would recommend this class to you if: - You are uneasy holding a small/newborn baby. - If you have never heard that breastfeeding does not simply happen, but takes sustained effort. - You have never changed a diaper. THE CLASS COVERS WAY MORE THAN THOSE TOPICS, however, I feel the answers to those questions are good indicators as to whether or not you are a good candidate. I went to the one at Mission Hospital, so others will have different facilitators. The problem with a class full of expecting fathers with almost no baby experience (the target demographic) is that the broaching of a topic of serious consequence will happen. For example, the facilitator went on a 5-10 minute tangent extolling the virtues of the epidural. I know for a fact that a majority of the expecting fathers left that room feeling like their wives would need an epidural and that it, practically, would not be an option. To be clear, I have no problem with epidurals. I just feel that if you are going to sell anything to a group that is eager to learn (sponge), said group needs to know at the very least there are pros & cons. Here are a couple of tips if you are planning on going: 1. Take a few minutes to write down a couple of specific questions you'd like answered as there is some Q&A time. 2. Obviously you are going in looking to learn from fathers with more experience than you, however, please remember you need to do your own research, even if it backs up what they say. I will say that I picked up a few little practical tips and perspectives and it is nice to be in a 'men only' scenario where any question goes. Finally, I take one star out because of the lack of details on the epidural tangent and also because the class went about 15 minutes late.

So yeah, I will be a father soon and the only advice I keep getting is, get tons of sleep and get used to being an after thought. Wow, thanks for the help. This class is made of up of rookie dads and a few veterans dads who not only bring their babies to hang out, but will answer any questions you might have about dad life. Changing diapers, helping with postpartum depression, and what to do after you get home from the hospital. You'll get to hold a baby and learn the best things to do as a dad, which is basically supporting your partner, both emotionally and physically. You'll also learn about, "gatekeeping" which is dealing with grandparents and friends who want to see the baby. The cost for the class is $35 and you'll get a dad to be book which reads just like cliff-notes; very easy to digest and gets right to the point. My one draw back is that the class is looonnnggg, over three hours! This could have easily been and hour and forty-five minute session. If you're about to be dad and feel utterly helpless this class will give you a lot of confidence and reassurance that everything will be ok.

My wife was referred to Julie by a friend, and I cannot express how fantastic the experience was and the relief she brought throughout the pregnancy. Julie had several pre-baby sessions with us, providing valuable insight on the birthing process and what to expect. My wife and her also put a birth plan together and worked side by side during her labor to follow it as much as possible. During my wife's labor, Julie was very nurturing and continuously ensured my wife remained calm and relaxed as possible. The fact that made this experience for me was the reassurance Julie provided me immediately following the birth of or child, during some minor complications my wife had, that everything was going to be ok. I would highly recommend hiring Julie as your Doula, especially for a first time parent, not knowing what to expect when the time comes.

This review is long overdue. I'll begin by stating that Christy successfully delivered our…read morebeautiful daughter Saturday, January 18th 2025. This is was not my first homebirth, prior to this my 3 sons were all born using South Coast Midwidery (SCM), their births were Dec. 2009, Dec. 2013 and Dec. 2015. The very first birth in 2009 was a great experience and SCM provided a great experience, but the following 2 homebirths left a lot to be desired. The compassion, love, care and humanity had left their practice by 2013. Having had this experience, when we became pregnant with our daughter 10 years after my last home birth, I knew I would need to find a new Midwifery/Midwife to work with. We did interview 1 other Midwife who we decided not to pursue care with, and I also reached out to Lindsey from OC Midwifery who I heard back from once, but not again (after multiple attempts) after mentioning we were in the "trying" stage of having a baby. When we discovered Christy it felt like a Godsend, it was coincidental, but driven by more than pure coincidence; it felt more as fate. Christy was quick to respond to our inquiry. When we had our initial video call with Christy we immediately knew she was our midwife. She embodies compassion, positive energy, care, enthusiasm, humanity and friendship that I believe every pregnant women needs! An impressive characteristic Christy owns is she in present and listens to mom and dad from beginning to end. She takes it all in and becomes the physical manifestation of what her client is in search of. Needless to say every in home appointment would build on the previous one and a bond was formed by all of us, but most importantly the bond of trust between mom, baby and Christy. Christy gave my wife the empowerment of being confident she was more than capable of birthing at home. (Read Steph T.'s review, that's my wife). We all felt the birth would go quickly, and it did when baby's birthing time came. We used the knowledge we gained at Christy's Bradley Class and although we had a slight complication, we were never concerned, worried or scared. We had all faith in God and Christy's experience and expertise. Christy put her game face on and delivered our baby girl earth side and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. Christy did have an assisting midwife, by the name of Ana, who we met several times, weeks before our "guess date". Ana was also great and of course she was, because Christy chose her and I wouldn't have expected any different. Now, fast forward a little over a year later and we have a very healthy baby girl who is thriving. We are pregnant again and excited to have our second birth with Christy as our midwife. This time our bond is much stronger, which I believe will serve as the catalyst of creating a similar birth as before, or possibly even better. I hope this review reaches any mom and/or dad looking for a midwife; who may be unsure of who to go with. The birth of our daughter this year (2026) will be my 5th homebirth experience and I will confidently vouch for Christy as the right midwife to choose every time.
