Dr Neubuerger is very knowledgeable in his field and I wouldn't want anyone else to touch my spine. I have my life back and am pain free! His office staff is as top notch as he is! It has been exactly 2 years (August 31, 2023) since Dr. Neubuerger preformed my back surgery. At the time I was 73 years old and barely able to walk without excruciating pain. In the past 2 years I went from almost being disable to now playing one to two rounds of golf a week, doing my own yard maintenance and resuming a full and active life. My friends and family are amazed when they see the device that was implanted in my back to stabilize my spine. If i could give less than 1 star, it would be negative 100. This doctor is a total insurance whack job. He sides only for the insurance company and does not give 2 thoughts about the patients well being or pain. christopher (aka doctor nut job) reviewed my MRI scans, which show disc damage and pressure on my spinal nerves. He recommends my continued use of narcotics in order to relieve pain, that a close colleague of his recommended surgery to relieve pain and effects of pressure on my nerves. Doctor nut job has twice seen me and twice stated that he stands by his recommendation to continue using narcotics and his need to uphold the resistance of insurance companies to pay for injured workers to recover. If you are thinking about seeing this nut case for proper treatment, your better off finding another doctor. This guy is PRO Narcotics and against proper treatment! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Neubuerger. I was in severe pain from sciatica for years due to arthritis in my lower back. Dr. Neubuerger sat side by side with me and reviewed my scans, showing me where the problems were and explained what he would do and why. He cleaned out all the arthritis L1-L5 and fused L4 & L5. Another surgeon wanted to remove 2 vertebrae. Dr. Neubuerger said he understood why that was recommended and why he didn't believe it was necessary. Post surgery my pain was gone immediately and I was up & around in no time. His office staff are great and responsive to questions when I called in, getting back to me with answers within the day. If there were more stars, Dr. Neubuerger is incredibly deserving. After consulting with three different surgeons, within minutes we knew he was the one. Knowledgeable, experienced, thorough & CARING. Because he was so highly recommended [by those in the medical community & former patients], he we known his practice was actually in-network with our insurance, we would've gone to him immediately. Dr. Neubuerger's state-of-the-art approach & perfectionism during this delicate surgical procedure has completely restored my husband's quality of life. C1-7 were severely damaged and, under less skillful hands, would have permanently impaired range of motion & disabled him from partaking of his lifelong sport. My experience with Dr. Christopher Neubuerger is that I did not get an objective spine evaluation, accurate diagnosis, treatment plan, or pain relief treatment options. He was dismissive, never looked me in the eyes during the entire visit, and just talked into a handheld voice recorder and to his assistant as though I was invisible. It was very dehumanizing given I was in severe, constant lower back and neck pain and it was a waste of time, energy, effort, money, and resources. During my visit, Dr. Neubuerger put my spine X-rays and MRI films on a lightbox, then quickly said to me "nothing is wrong with your spine." Two months later, I saw a second local orthopedic surgeon, (without my primary care doctor's foreknowledge so he couldn't again pre-bias a spine specialist with false information in advance of my visit). This second spine surgeon put the very same spine X-ray and MRI films on a lightbox then quickly diagnosed L5-S1 annular tear, L5-S1 severe collapsed disc, vertebrae Modic changes, nerve impingement, etc., all well known to cause severe pain. This second opinion exposed Dr. Neubuerger as a spine specialist who cannot accurately read and interpret spine X-ray and MRI images, or as a doctor who ignores a patient's spine injuries, I do not know what he was thinking because he would not address my questions and he said that he would send a report to my PCP. I then had to go through the exhausting, grueling, expensive, years-long process of getting additional opinions and spine diagnostic tests and procedures, to identify the correct root causes of my disabling spine pain, from world-class spine surgeons located outside of the Sutter Health region, and all concurred that I had L5-S1 annular tear, L5-S1 severe collapsed disc, vertebrae Modic changes, nerve impingement, and more. I underwent this careful and conservative diagnostic process and multiple opinions to ensure that if surgery were truly necessary, I would have the correct surgery and the best chance at relieving 24/7 severe lower back pain. Finally, my spine surgery was in the Bay Area which increased the difficulty and expense however, there was no way I would trust a Sutter Health associated spine surgeon or hospital, especially because Dr. Neubuerger did not correctly diagnose the obvious spine injury or read my spine X-ray and MRI images correctly and importantly, my torn disc, which caused the severely collapsed disc, occurred at Sutter Memorial Hospital in the first place, on the day of my Never Event when I sustained multiple iatrogenic injuries during what was supposed to be a minimally invasive removal of uterus. read more
