Pretty sweet deal if you ask me. This particular Game Traders store is the perfect size, and everything appears to be well organised. You don't have to go hunting through everything just to find something that you like. The staff are just as geeky as anyone who walks into the store. I probably should stop saying geeky shouldn't I? I'm a gamer, so I really like going here, especially to trade games. That's always fun. I love the fact that there's always new and different stock when you go in store.

Being a massive Lord of the Rings fan, this place is absolutely awesome. I can spend hours upon…read morehours painting up models, building scenery, that sort of thing. I find it really relaxing and it's very pleasing to have something to show for it at the end. So whenever I see a Games Workshop (and there's a hell of a lot of them scattered across the world), I make a point of going in. I've spent a great deal of time in this particular store lately, and although usually I can find most of the stuff they sell on the internet for a bit less money, it's nice to actually have a look at it and hold the box or whatever in your hot little hand. That's something that online purchasing seems to lack. This store is staffed by people who know their stuff, and are interested in what they sell. I thought they were friendly and good at answering questions. There's a pretty decent selection here, too. I like this place.

Used to come here in my youth during the LoTR magazine series. Every week I'd get new models to…read morepaint, this grew into wanting more models from the Warhammer 40K series. It's a growing scene because of the video games that have come out recently. So you'll find all sorts of new people to befriend, too sit around and paint some mini men withl. The guys around here know their Warhammer, don't test their knowledge. Though they may come off a bit 'elitist' toward new players.

This is not a den of snobbishly anti-social nerds who make you feel uncomfortable, these are friendly and helpful individuals, at least one of them is even a girl! Don't be fooled into thinking these cats are too cool to hold the keys to unlocking game knowledge though, they all know what it is you (and perhaps your child) are after. Not only that, they actually care about it too and are primed to consul you on your console. A desire to deliver superior service can sometimes slow them down a bit as they remain constantly focussed on whichever customer they're assisting and not the ever increasing line at the checkout. They won't let you walk out with the shabby display version of Mario's hat, they'll make you wait whilst they comb through their stock room to retrieve the hat of the redest red and the best embroidered M. At the time of purchase, if you're in a hurry, this may seem a tad annoying, but I bet they don't get many returns. Gametraders at Marion also host many nerd culture events throughout the year including cosplay comps, game showdowns in addition to their common awesome sales. The last time I went there it was apparently their fourth birthday celebrations and so there were many people there, and throughout the shopping centre, in full costume. Gametraders make not only the world of Warcraft or whichever realm you visit fun, they upload it to the real world too.

It also stocks card games, and various gaming and movie memorabilia. If you're after this sort of thing, it's a must to check out if you're at Marion. The staff are courteous, and have a good knowledge of their products. Especially useful for me when I trying to choose a new gaming console for the kids. Definitely worth a look!

I certainly can't go past a bookshop, especially one with as may sci-fi books as this one has. In a…read moreway it has been around for ages, or at least as long as I can remember, though it is only in recent times that I have gone and paid it a visit. Mind you, it can be a bit confusing finding the entrance, namely because it happens to be behind the shop, not the front, namely because you won't be able to find a park out the front anyway. Oh, and they also deal only in cash, but still, it's a pretty awesome place to go and explore for some books.

I guess being a rather small shop does tend to have that effect, though I also suspect that it is not quite a second-hand bookshop either, namely because there was a lot more order to this place. This was one of those places that I have been travelling past, and decided to actually make an effort to come down and have a look around. Needless to say, there really wasn't all that much here.

East Avenue stock a large selection of books. A range of genres to look over in a nice cosy…read moreatmosphere. It's a shame that bookstore are going out of fashion. Places like this have a real charm about them. The prices are reasonable for older novella, discount book bins have good finds, and the newer releases are on par with other bookstores. There's a wonderful selection of Australian authors to pursue. Malouf and Lawson etc. I'm a fan of the laconic works in the Australian literary works. It's a great place to browse or search for obscure literature. Talk to Joan or Peter if you're looking for something specific.
