Good selection of movies at reasonable prices, still in my opinion movie rentals are over priced. They also have an offer on at present to match all competitor coupons. read more

The prices have not changed a great deal since I was resolutely hiring Disney's Aladdin on every visit; $5.50 for 5 weeklies and you have the option of taking the 2 nightly videos home for a week too, that's about $10 for 5 movies. He is a happy geek and will tell you himself with a big proud smile. The store is downstairs off of Gawler Place, and seems like it's stuck in some kind of time warp, because there are videos on old school video shop shelves, and some amazing Doctor Who creatures standing around ready to yell "Exterminate!" at you with wobbly high pitched voices. If they do I'd run up the stairs out of the shop if I were you! Seriously, if you are a Start Trek, Doctor Who or Fantasy fan, this is a great video rental shop for you. Plenty of choices, and Stephen will gladly hunt down anything you are looking for that he doesn't have. If you just browse in the store and don't have a chat with Stephen, you will not appreciate the value of such a store in the city... uncover the amazing secrets by starting a converstaiion with him and you will be glad you did.

Independent…read moremusic on Cd's and Vinyl and some pretty cool DVDs as well along with the t-shirts and books that you would associate with some of the bands that smash their way through sets like there is no tomorrow! The store specialises in importing music from all around the world but Clarity maintains a strong focus on Punk and Hardcore related products, as well as Metal, Indie, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Soul, Funk, Prog and much more. The enterprise aims to support all local music by stocking a large range of music from Adelaide and Australia. Obviously all of this is not to everyone's taste, but there are quite a few folk around who have a healthy love of this material, and we all try to support our local bands. I enjoy most of these music genres in moderation. I always enjoy having a bit of a chin wag with Matt one half of the team who run the show (the fellow behind the counter) and the store. The other half of the team is Laura Horvath and they have both lived and breathed music for most of their lives. Not just a shop, Clarity Records is a record label, releasing on both CD and Vinyl formats. Clarity Records releases are distributed in Australia & NZ by Shock Records. So our Matt Footy is pretty clued up on what's new, what's classic (in terms of punk and heavy metal etc.) and what's about to be released; he's a good person to speak with if you are having trouble finding what you are listening for. Always smiling, unless you're trying to slip out the door with something you haven't paid for, then watch your back dude! Clarity Records is a clean and fresh shop with a fine range of odds and ends among the wide variety of music you'd want from a punk/rock/metal specialist store.

I'm one of those few people who still regularly go out and hire DVDs. I buy movies all the time,…read moreand yet I still complain I have nothing to watch so I head down to Video Ezy and hire more often than I probably need to. Video Ezy has had quite the makeover over the past fews, especially this store after it relocated a few months ago. I definitely like the new setup better, it feels like a video store. The new releases are always top of the notch and tend to have plenty in stock when you want them. I usually hire weekly's instead of overnights, and the selection is pretty stellar. There's plenty of black and white classics, foreign, action, romance, comedy and cult classics. The prices are very reasonable too, and on Tuesdays it's only $2 per movie! The West Lakes store also has a lovely choice of movie snacks (mmm chocolate and popcorn) and plenty of ex-rentals and new movies to buy. Sometimes the brand new movies are too expensive, but if you're lucky you can get a great bargain.

Unfortunately the prices are a total let down for me. Some items are almost double the price at Sanity in comparison to another store. This particular store is very small and can sometimes get quite crowded. Prices aside, the stock is pretty good. Even if they don't have the movie in stock at the time you go in, they're more than happy to order it in from another store for you. If you're willing the pay the extra price for your favourite movie or TV show then Sanity is the way to go. The best time to buy things from there is when they have their big sales on.

Back then it was the only way you could really get alternative music, unless you had the time and patience to tape triple j. So at least for me, Dillons is a shop with a history. The store has a large range of music CDs and DVDs, ranging from recent and popular artists to more obscure tastes, as well as a large ABC and world music section. I never had too much trouble finding the stuff I was looking for, although occasionally they may have run out of stock of the less popular artists; in which case they would always ask if you would like to have it specially ordered in for you. The DVD and Blu-ray section is also extensive; featuring collections of new and classic titles, as well as a section devoted to SBS produced films. The pricing is a little higher than other retailers, but I can't blame them as it's hard to compete with nationwide outlets such as JB Hi-Fi. However, Dillons really feels like a music shop - unlike the clinical feel of some of the larger retailers. Another great thing about Dillons Music is that it seamlessly connects to Dillons Books next door. You can be browsing music one moment, and then move over on to books if you've changed your mind or wish to continue browsing.

Despite being a 'music' store, there are probably as many DVDs as CDs, most of them from the ABC and BBC, which is alright by me! Not my bag but there will be plenty of people out there who still like buying a CD in person and whose tastes fit in with this. The DVDs were more my thing: Attenborough aplenty! Yes please. The staff are friendly and helpful as well. I support your empire, Dillon's. Just promise to use your power for good, not evil.

Basically most Harvey Norman stores are set up the same. Huge entrances to the furniture department. I have managed to grab some fantastic bargains on some great pillows here actually. Heaps better quality than at department stores and they lasted heaps longer. The Electrical and Computers are usually in a separate section at the rear or one side of the store, with electrical left of the spearate entrance to this area and computer, mobiles phones, camera's, PC software, etc to the right of the registers. I have never purchased nay major electrical items from this store but have bought some really good computer equipment here. Including a fantastic Acer laptop. However once you have someone their service is usually very good, I have never had an issue with a staff member at any Harvey Norman store.

But I find that you're paying for it when you buy stuff here. That's why they bitch and moan about online shopping. I haven't ever bought furniture at Hardly Normal's, just because if I'm paying that much, it'll be from a premium store, not this place, or any of the others. I do feel a bit sorry for those that have to buy their computers here. Seriously, go to MSY, buy the parts, and learn to do it yourself. You'll end up with a new skill, a computer that costs literally half the price (or less), and everyone will tell you you're awesome. Which is what I can't tell this place.
