Large Arugula salad
Emily W.

Excellent experience for a casual Sunday supper. My husband and I split a toasted ravioli order, pepperoni pizza and large arugula salad. We each ordered a beer and a house red. Prices were reasonable and the food was plenty for the two of us. I loved the pizza and the salad was a nice simple recipe. Ambiance is really fun, kind of an upscale Italian diner. We arrived early on Sunday for dinner and there was no waiting.

I got a to-go order and it took over an hour. That's fine considering it told me it would take an hour, but just keep that in mind if you're in a rush. I got the pepperoni pizza and I'll start off by saying I really enjoyed the crust and the crisp pepperoni slices. However, I felt the sauce lacked flavor overall.

I have been craving pizza since we've moved out here, and came across this place on social media! Walking in, I loved the feel and decor of the space, as it really called for simplicity and that was reflected in their menu. The girls at the front were sweet and gave us suggestions for us to consider. We ordered fried ravioli with hot sauce (yes - the hot sauce is really good), garlic knots, and prosciutto/arugula pizza. They have canned and bottled drinks for purchase and free water next to the utensils and take out boxes. We really enjoyed our lunch! The garlic knots were so soft and covered in freshly grated parmesean cheese. The fried ravioli was so so good with the provided sauces, but it was a little tough where they were crimped closed. Pizza was good, I would have a liked a liiiiittttlee thicker crust or maybe a longer time in the fire just for firmness sake! Good vibes all around and we will be back to try their dinner service!

Cheese pizza

This is elite level pizza in Clayton. Completely different style than Pizzeria Da Gloria, La Pizza and O+O (my 3 personal favorites in STL). Neopolitan style but also crunchy and thinner. Great chew, quality sauce and really unique cheese that has a bit of a tang. Service is always friendly and helpful. Well stocked water station and boxes for leftovers. Also tried the T-Ravs my first time here and highly recommend starting with those. This place definitely deserves a visit. Besides Peel, this is the only pizza spot in Clayton. And as much as I like Peel, Nettie's is true pizza that is made with care and passion. Give it a try.

I have been waiting for Nettie's to open since I heard Mike Randolph was doing another pizza spot! I went to The Good Pie in 2009 or so and was introduced to Neapolitan style pizza and loved it. Fast forward to 2025 and a new pizza place by Mike Randolph and I had to have it. Located in Clayton, we found street parking right near the shop. You walk in and we were greeted by an employee who gave us the gist. It was a little awkward because it crowded the front area and we had to stand back to see the menu's posted on the side wall. We went to the cashier to take our order. We ordered two pizzas, and I wanted to try a salad, I think I confused her or her relay to the salad maker was off because I ended up with undressed iceberg lettuce with a few cannellini beans. I don't like cheese so I always have to modify but I will make sure to be more clear next time. Salad aside, the pizza was awesome! Light and delicious, perfect char and chew on the crust. I loved both the pepperoni and the sausage with Calabrian chili. Space is awesome, set up was great beyond the greeter. I enjoyed watching the pizza being made by none other than chef Mike Randolph. I am not a fan of handwritten signage, so I hope they change that in the future, but I know I am ordering the pizza however the menu is displayed!

Wow! This place is gooooooooood! When I first walked in, I wasn't sure whether to wait or seat myself. I erred on the side of caution and chose to wait and it was then that the girl behind the register came to greet me. She asked if it was my first time and then went over the menu on the wall (it's also printed). Since slices are only available M-F, I went with the cheese pizza (although it was neck and neck with the Margherita) and stuck with water, although they do have other beverage options available. After I ordered, I chose a booth closest to the window. Since there were only three couples in there and 2/3 already had their food, I knew I wouldn't be waiting long. After a minimal wait, the main chef walked over and delivered my pie and I couldn't wait to dig in. First glance, it's light and airy with the perfect amount of char. My first bite was heavenly and while I never thought I'd describe pizza this way, it was savory! You truly want to take your time eating the pizza so you can taste all the ingredients and how well everything comes together. I'm not sure how he did it, but this was the first time I've ever had a pizza where the crust was both chewy AND crunchy, and both were the right amounts! I decided three slices was a good stopping point, so I boxed the other three and took them home. Things I loved: being able to eat three slices out of 6 and not feel full, fresh ingredients, someone actually coming to greet me instead of just saying hi behind the counter, the cozy and casual atmosphere, and did I mention the pizza? This spot is perfect for Clayton and I can't wait to come back and try more.

Prosciutto & arugula pizza to-go

Took pizza to-go as they were packed inside! Very cozy place with really good pizza. This will be quickly become neighborhood staple

Went there twice in two days. Really excellent new addition to Clayton lunch scene. Clean bright inside. Very friendly and helpful employees. Their "slice" is about 1/3 of a medium pizza and makes a great lunch, with a soda and a tip you can get out for less than 15 bucks and be stuffed. One of my dining companions had their house salad and said it was great. Went back again and they did a combination slice for me, even though not on the menu. It is hard to find a place to get a good a slice. They did not have any WIFI connectivity but that is a small price to pay. Really delicious.

Marinara add Broccoli Rabe
Michelle L.

I ordered the Burratta daily special. It had prosciutto, olive oil, garlic, Calabrian chili, arugula, parm, and a big ball of Burratta in the middle. My dinner date ordered the Marinara and added broccoli rabe. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. We both loved our pizzas. The dough was fresh and had the right char. The ovens are gorgeous. Two complaints... I don't like community seating and maybe I'm getting old but it was extremely loud in here! Like I couldn't hear the person across the table loud. Great pizza!

Prosciutto pizza
Allison K.

I loved everything about my experience here- the welcoming service, the inviting atmosphere, and the incredible pizza. We got a sausage pizza and a prosciutto pizza, and after just one bite, my boyfriend and I looked at each other and knew we had a new favorite pizza place in town. The crust is so thin, yet crisp enough to hold its weight. The sauce, toppings, and dough are fresh and flavorful. I texted at least 5 friends while still at the table telling them to put it on their list to go to. Can't wait to go back!

Toasted ravioli

***toasted ravioli appreciation post*** the pizza is good but now that that is out of the way the toasted ravioli are incredible...some of the best I've had in St. Louis. The red and green sauces are also very good and that's coming from a toasted ravioli purist. I will be back for the pizza, I will dream about the toasted ravioli.

Decor
Abby D.

Very casual, very very good. Really loved our meal. Pizza was cooked to perfection, sauce had so much flavor. Risotto balls are amazing as well as the toasted ravioli from the hill! Will definitely come back. So so so good!

The Best Dining Experience We've Had in St. Louis - Hands Down…read moreMy husband and I wanted to give our dear friends who are leaving St. Louis one last unforgettable meal from their bucket list, so I immediately recommended Peno. I used to be a regular at Rosé with the same talented Chef Pepe, and his food is truly to die for. We walked in on a beautiful day and were lucky to snag a spot in their small parking lot (parking in the area isn't the easiest, but it's worth it). Our server, Harry, made the evening even better right from the start. He had such a warm, calm, professional presence--the kind that's rare these days. We instantly remembered his name thanks to a fun Harry Potter / Harry and the Hendersons reference, and he handled everything with effortless skill. When our friends had parking trouble, Harry quickly offered helpful suggestions. Then, when it was time to order, he elevated our meal in the best way possible. My husband and I got our longtime favorite--the Roberto pizza from Rosé days--and Harry suggested adding sausage and peppers. That small tweak took something we already loved and made it 1000% better. Absolute perfection. Our friend ordered the spaghetti (her all-time favorite comfort meal), and after taking Harry's thoughtful recommendation, she declared it the best spaghetti she's ever had in her life. We finished with the cheesecake. I'm extremely picky about cheesecake, but this one did not disappoint--it was creamy, rich, and flawless. This was one of those legendary meals you remember forever. The kind where you leave thinking you could die happy. Chef Pepe's food, paired with Harry's outstanding service, made it a perfect night. If you're in St. Louis, do yourself a favor and go to Peno. You won't regret it. Thank you, Harry and team--you helped create a truly special send-off for our friends!

A large amount of mozzarella-looked like Provel on top. I did call over the server to clarify if this was what this salad was supposed to be - mostly lettuce. She said yes then brought over a small plate with a few olives. Again, this salad was $15. It must have cost Peno a dollar to make because it was mostly lettuce. I live a few blocks from Peno and love the idea of a neighborhood restaurant we can all embrace. Sadly, I won't be back.

It's layered with pistachios, pesto, and squash, creating such a unique balance of creamy, nutty, and savory flavors. It was rich without feeling too heavy, and every bite felt incredibly comforting yet elevated at the same time. Definitely one of my favorite lasagnas ever. We kicked things off with the toasted ravioli, and I can honestly say they are some of the best in St. Louis. You can tell they are handmade in-house--perfectly crispy on the outside with a delicious, savory filling that pairs beautifully with the marinara. We also shared the prosciutto di parma, which was sliced thin and had a wonderful, authentic flavor that set a high bar for the rest of the night. For the main course, we tried two very different but equally amazing dishes: Pepperoni Pizza: The addition of hot honey was a game-changer. It added a bold, spicy kick that balanced the salty pepperoni perfectly. Cacio e Pepe: This was truly spectacular. It's a simple dish that is hard to get right, but this was easily the best I've ever had outside of Rome. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the peppery flavor was throughout. To drink, we ordered the Old Dolce Vita, their unique take on an Old Fashioned. It was expertly crafted and really showed off their skills behind the bar--smooth, balanced, and a great companion to the meal. Our server was fantastic--attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, but also gave us plenty of time to relax and enjoy our conversation. We never felt rushed, which made for a perfectly paced and memorable dinner. We will definitely be back
