This is a nice Nespresso Boutique, located in Multrees Walk, just outside the St James Quarter in Edinburgh, it is a rather large store, with a nice selection of machines, accessories and capsules for the Original and Vertuo machines.
The staff members inside the store seemed helpful and had good knowledge of the products and machines.
I like the idea of the tasting area inside the store, but in practice, this could be dealt with better because:
1. It seems to open intermittently with no specific timetable. I was only able to use the tasting area on one of my two visits to this store
2. The tasting area only offers specific capsules which are being promoted, you can't pick a specific one
3. The tasting area has no seats, so you have to stand up while drinking your coffee.
Credit where credit is due, however, that thanks to the tasting area, I managed to try and enjoy a raspberry-flavoured limited edition coffee before I bought a sleeve to take home with me.
PRO TIP: The store does close rather early, at 18:00 between Monday and Saturday, which is much earlier than most other shops nearby, so if you're shopping in Edinburgh, you may wish to come here first to avoid being greeted by closed doors.
The store overall is very laid out, to the point it is easy to find what you're looking for, while also being easy on the eye, and showcasing their VertuoPOP machines right at the front, which are so bright and colourful, and is the machine I have at home.
This is a nice store overall, yet could be improved with minor adjustments to the tasting area, especially making sure it isn't hit/miss if you're going to catch it open, and by extending the opening hours overall to be more in line with the surrounding retailers. 4* read more
