"heaven" and "baked brie" waffles

Went to the West End location on a sunny Saturday morning and got the heaven (strawberries and whipped cream), and baked brie (greens, bruleed brie, prosciutto, gooseberries, and hazelnuts) waffles. Both were amazing! The waffles were light, crispy, and fluffy. The toppings were delicious. If you are in the area, stop in this cute, small outpost of Nero Waffles.

Stepping inside Nero Waffle, you'll be intoxicated by the lovely sweet aroma of waffle batter. It just smells amazing. I'm relatively selective when it comes to waffles, taking Liege over Brussels any day, but I like how Nero Waffles offers both. I stopped by on a Thursday evening shortly before closing and was greeted by a friendly worker. I ordered one mini liege waffle, original flavor. Made fresh, it was warm and good with deliciously caramelized crispy edges. Since it was mini size, it was a perfect dessert. I'd be very interested in other flavors next time when I'm hungrier.

Really amazing! Had smashed avocado and then the Heaven and Banana brûlée. All were top notch. Waffle so light and flavorful

I'm so glad we visited this literal hole in the wall. These are maybe some of the best waffles I've had in my entire life. I don't have a single criticism for anything we ordered and I loved the little touches too, like frying the capers for better texture. The service was also top notch.

A restaurant just for waffles?? Count me in! We got there right at opening on a wednesday. They were short staffed with just 1 person working for the first 30 mins or so but he was so friendly and really was going above and beyond to help everyone! Love that they had both sweet and savory waffles and small liege waffles we ate as an appetizer-churro was my favorite! Small place with just a couple tables inside and a couple more outside. Such a fun place!

I have been to Seymour location before which is more bigger & trendy. It has way beautiful interior & spacious patio in L shape all around the place. In waffles theprovide the unique Brussels waffles which are soft n crunchy at the same time. We tried both sweet & savoury options of fruit waffle and avocado smash respectively. The taste was matchless. Very yummy and very filling. It's a self service small seating outlet so be prepared. Drinks are served fast so let them know when you want them else the drinks will be cold until the food comes . Staff is sweet so we enjoyed our time spent on the roadside patio.

First time trying Nero waffles. Absolutely enjoyed it. The waffle itself tasted fresh and not overly sweet which was really nice. The coffee was also really good too and I'm glad we were able to get non dairy options for the milk. The staff were wonderful This location unfortunately is really small with not a lot of seating area or space so do be prepared to have the waffle to go if they're really busy. The strawberries on the waffle tasted a little too sour as well but not a huge issue as it really complemented the waffle really well.

This place is so cute! I went here with a friend in the morning for breakfast & was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Coffee was super good (I had an iced latte) and we both had waffles, which were delicious. Sweet but not too sweet - I highly recommend the mascarpone which was so so good. Tiny spot, only a few tables in the back, with a small outdoor dining area when the weather suits it. I will absolutely be coming back here in the future! Staff were helpful when I asked about my peanut allergy - apparently they don't use peanuts in their food, but they do use other tree nuts (Nutella, etc) I felt very safe eating there!

Was looking for something different while visiting Vancouver. The pictures from others had me intrigued. Small place. Seating is limited. 2 workers up front doing all the cooking & cleaning, etc. We got our coffees pretty quick. There was 2 others who had been seated before us. Kitchen only has enough space to knock out 1 order at a time. Well worth the wait. I'm not a big brie cheese liking person but the waffle I got was delicious. Brie and some greens. Odd looking but it sure was tastey.

Great service, quaint place and tasty waffles! Eggs Benedict with smashed avocado was terrific. Thank you

Nero Waffles has 1500+ reviews on Google along with 4.5/5 stars; we really wanted to see what the hype was about! As soon as you walk into this tiny, tight store, you can see the staff making their waffles through the glass. Next to it are the mini liege waffles. After deciding for minutes, we finally chose the Dark Chocolate Pistachio and Chocorazz for waffle tasting. We also ordered the avocado Benedict to share. The waffles themselves were not quite special for us; both of them didn't stand out as much as people say they are, especially the Dark Chocolate Pistachio, just a classic chocolate waffle.  However, what really got us to leave a 4 star rating was avocado Benedict! Very well-made poached eggs that burst their yolks when you gently cut through it, along with their housemade hollandaise sauce. I rarely get to try Benedicts, and I could say that this one is definitely my favorite out of all. We didn't expect the avocado to mix this well with everything; the whole dish suddenly became creamy, cheesy-like, and filled with flavors.  We'd come back to Nero Waffles for their savory lunches without a doubt; high-quality food made with care is what we always look for!

YUMMY!!! We just had dumplings, but we really wanted to try. Then we got in and couldn't decide what to get. So we got one of each Spring Flavor of the liege waffles. - original- vanilla custard- white chocolate raspberry- churro- coffee caramel- pistachio- dark chocolate coconut!! If you take them home, toast them up a bit and enjoy with tea or coffee!!

Wonderful place, great ambiance but super tight and small. Warning - don't believe their website, neither place accepts reservations. We went as family of 5. There are maybe 4-5 tables at this location and we sat at the only one I think that can sit 5. So forget coming here if you have more than 4. I had the French toast waffle. The waffle itself - its among the best for sure I've had in Vancouver. Light and crispy. Wonderful to bite into. I could eat this all day, trust me. I don't think this is the Liege. The bananas were caramelized and it was wonderful. It's not big but big enough. If you want a bigger looking waffle get one of the sweet ones as they come with ice cream. My kids loved them. And heh isn't part of eating a waffle how it looks? :) Would definitely come back. Their pack of 7 to go mini waffles are great too btw. Two of the flavours are filled.

Waffles for Dinner? Always a Good Idea!…read more I've been wanting to try Nero Belgian Waffle Bar for brunch forever, but the queue is always so long. I finally decided to pop in for dinner instead and waffles for dinner turned out to be the ultimate move! We had such an amazing meal from start to finish. First off, huge shoutout to them for not charging extra for alternative milk! My Tiramisu Latte with almond milk was absolute perfection. Here is what we ordered: -The French Waffle ($19): Their unique take on French toast using an egg-washed Brussels waffle, topped with rich pistachio cream, fresh berries, real whipped cream, and a delicious pistachio crumble. - Lemon Ricotta Liege Waffle ($19): Hubby's choice! A denser Liege waffle loaded with fresh raspberries, ricotta, tangy lemon curd, raspberry coulis, white chocolate, and pistachio crumble. Beyond the incredible waffles, the service was outstanding. The staff was so warm, friendly, and amazing with kids, they even let the little ones pick out a small treat from a sweet gift basket. . Such a sweet and warm feels dining in here. Fantastic food, thoughtful touches, and wonderful service. We will definitely be back!

We arrived and placed ourselves on the waitlist. We waited about 45-60 minutes total. But boy oh boy was it worth it! The restaurant is a Mediterranean inspired breakfast/lunch/ brunch. The interior was warm and inviting. The hostess and our server were both very sweet and provided great customer service. We started with coffees. My husband ordered espresso and I had a salted caramel latte. Both coffees were great - they had bold flavor and the froth on my latte was fluffy (bonus points for the cute latte art). For our entrees, my husband ordered the Fricassée. The short rib was tender and delicious! The tomato sauce was also amazing. Just wanted to note that the sauce was a bit more on the tangy side. I ordered the Cassoulet. The tomato sauce on this one was my favorite as it was a perfect balance between tangy and savory. I also really enjoyed the white beans which helped add to the body of the meal. The grilled focaccia is perfection! They're crisp and crunchy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. We used the focaccia to devour every last bit of the tomato sauces from our plates. I don't really run into Mediterranean breakfast often. But Medina Cafe and these shakshuka inspired dishes have definitely won us over. I'd come back and wait in line all over again. Yum!

Crispy, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and the kind of dish I would come back for all by itself. The Les Boulettes were packed with flavor and so satisfying. The waffle was also perfection, which says a lot because I'm really not a sweets person. The latte felt downright lavish. Smooth, rich, and beautifully done. The martini definitely did the trick. Between the food, drinks, and overall experience, Medina Cafe is absolutely worth a visit. The service was fantastic, I'd happily come back, especially for those potatoes because I'm still thinking about them!

I…read moreused to play Pokemon Go quite religiously but eventually that tapered off, so the event was a fun way to get reacquainted with the game. After walking around for a couple of hours, trying to entice various pokemon creatures into our traps (wait! is that vegan?!), one definitely tends to work up an appetite and this is where the star of our show comes in, WaffleLand Café ! A mere 10 minute walk from the Vancouver Harbour, walking into WaffleLand feels a bit like walking into a culinary pitstop on the way to Disneyland, a feeling that is no accident, completely by design. If you're a Disney addict like me, just having that theming is enough to serve as a subtle transport to a magical (some might say ..the *most* magical) place on Earth! There's just something about the whimsical nature of the storefront and within, coupled with little detailed touches that just serve to tie everything together. Honestly, I could end this post right here and I think it would still qualify as a complete write up lol but ... fat chance, I'm going to tell you about the food :), the food, the glorious food lol. Let's start by pointing out their completely separate vegan menu, I can never say enough about this gesture, it means so much to the community for so many reasons! You get to choose from a variety of waffles, most of them being sweet but not without some "sweet" (so to speak lol) savory options as well. My wife, being of the sweet persuasion, opted for the "Enchanted Forest" .. bananas, strawberries, almonds, a dallop of vegan cream and hazelnut sauce coupled with the thicker, fluffier liège style of waffle! Myself, being a savory character, I opted for the "Smoked Tofu Lover" with all my favorite things, avocado, hummus, smoked tofu, plus maple syrup and dusted with garlic sesame, coupled with a thinner, heartier norwegian style waffle. There's no wrong choices here, my friends! Plus, while I obviously had to put any low carb aspirations aside by agreeing to eat here, that doesn't mean I can't try to make smarter decisions along the way, with the fat and fiber content of my plate at least hopefully helping to slow my body's reaction to the waffle treat! We were both enamored with our respective dishes, just everything about them, the aesthetics, the flavor, the texture and super generous portion sizing! I regret that I neglected to take pictures of their drink menu as they had a great assortment of coffees, shakes, teas, cold drinks, cocktails and shots. I was really inclined to try myself an effervescent Duck Fart (I have issues, I know this....) but alas, twas not to be as the shot wasn't vegan due to Bailey's Irish Cream. So instead, I relegated myself to joining my wife in a delightfully sweet "Mickey in Waffleland", consisting of Grand Marnier, Tequila, and Tia Maria. Cheers! I love places that offer something unique, with superb character, a place with such a special charm that you're unlikely to find something similar elsewhere in your other travels and WaffleLand succeeded in hitting all of those high notes, a magical waffle experience, indeed!
