This was the straight-up-best-event we've ever had -- and we've done archery tag, bubble soccer, ping pong playoffs, guacamole competitions, karaoke, film fest ... everything. We had a hard time getting participation.. because we have a lot of shy folks. One person said they were going to try it out and leave after five minutes. He rocked it the whole time. That's the power of a safe space, thanks to Danny and Claire. Sure you build communication skills, and set your ~creative vibes~ free, but what we got most out of having Nerd Improv in our office was we built stronger relationships. And that is invaluable to office culture. If you're an office manager stop reading this review and book the nerds. read more

Could not have been happier with our experience with Nerd Improv! Danny & Chris were professional and experts at their craft, while creating a fun and non-judgmental atmosphere for our group (company event). They centered the selected activities around areas I identified for improvement, which made the experience feel personalized. In addition, they were very flexible with last minute needs and really went above and beyond to make our event happen. I received awesome feedback within our company about the experience--It really allowed us to open up in ways we haven't before, spend some time as a group for the first time in a long time (or some for the first time ever), and really reflect on ourselves as an organization while not taking ourselves too seriously. Can't recommend NI enough! read more

We utilized Nerd Improv for one of our team building activities at an offsite meeting. I definitely was a little nervous when I found out we would be doing improv. I took an improv class senior year of high school and dropped out because it was too uncomfortable. So needless to say, I was not looking forward to this (at first). The activities ended up being great! They really work with you to help you open up and you get to connect and become vulnerable (something I hate) with your co-workers. It was an eye opening experience and it was nice to let our guards down and just openly share our stories. I think it could be a little awkward at first, but everyone started participating and feeling more comfortable with the exercises. Overall it was a lot of fun and something different that I would absolutely recommend! Thanks, Nerd Improv! read more

Danny and his team at Nerd Improv CRUSHED our offsite! This was the first time my team who works in different locations were together and I wanted to find an activity that bonded them, taught them collaboration skills and most importantly a FUN activity. Nerd Improv was all that and more. Danny and his team did such a good job reading my team and adapting the exercises to fit their energy. We laughed so much and I saw so many personalities coming out of shells! They are totally professional and really understand team dynamics and how the improv exercises relate to day to day work. I know everyone walked away with a renewed sense of team and with skills to use in their day to day lives. But the best part was how much fun we had. The Nerd Improv team felt like an extension of our team and laughed along with us. I can't recommend them enough and hope to bring them back to work with us soon. read more

As a rapidly growing team (Level 5 - Lyft's self-driving division) with many new additions, we had an offsite where Danny and the Nerd Improv team were able to infuse fun, focus, and help foster camaraderie amongst peers. We're already a fun team, but with growth comes the need to reinforce connection and form new bonds. The activities were unique, and helped to build new interaction patterns based on openness, respect, and an awesome shared experience. It was really exciting to see colleagues come out of their shell, and step outside the routine of the heads down, day-to-day that can affect us all. The team really enjoyed the takeaways in being better active listeners, pushing ourselves to be uncomfortable, taking risks, and developing more empathy for one another. The activities and learnings will be valuable tools to take with us to our everyday that I believe will help increase our presence and engagement with each other, and ultimately boost productivity, personal/professional fulfillment, and fun factor :) Danny and the team's energy was infectious and they were able to moderate effectively despite there being 100 of us. They were able to organize the activities in a way where we would change up the group dynamics and size to keep it dynamic, and personal. I would definitely recommend Nerd Improv for any team/organizational needs! read more

I truly enjoyed NerdImprov. I found them on Google and then checked out their reviews on Yelp. Danny, the facilitator, was pleasant and organized in the set up and administrative part of scheduling this class. He arrived on time and even sent me an email to let me know he was on his way. I expected him to use improv as a way of teaching us. I thought we would be sitting most of the training and learning while watching Danny perform improv. I also thought he might be supplementing the training with some slides. Nothing could be further from the truth! Instead Danny requested a large room with a large amount of empty space. We stood the entire 2 hours and we actually performed the improv. The class was fun and entertaining with a message of learning for each exercise. I have a small team of individuals from a very culturally diverse background (India, Czek, Germany, ect) and so I was concerned that they would be open enough to fully participate in the activities or that they would be uncomfortable with the unique style of the training since we are a manufacturing company. However, every participant enjoyed the training and we learned from the skills of Active Listening. I highly recommend this class. read more

I see some of my other colleagues have commented on how great Danny and Nerd Improv were - so I'm going to also include a review :). At the start of the teambuilding, many of us thought we were going to be doing some major acting in front of some teammates we had just met. We were wrong - this workshop was amazing. Lots of small activities mixing the large group and small 1-on-1 time with other teammates. Nothing required "acting skills" - just have to be present and participate. Tons of laughter, listening, and fun ways to get to know each other. I will definitely be looking for more ways to include Nerd Improv in Armanino's teambuilding needs. read more

We chose Nerd Improv for a recent team building offsite event and I'm so glad that we did. First of all, it was incredibly fun. Danny created an environment that felt safe and supportive and was especially sensitive to those of us who felt apprehensive. The games started out accessible and easy and progressed to more challenging (and hilarious) as the event went on and we became more comfortable. Danny was with us every step of the way, enthusiastically taking part and contributing to each of the activities. It was more than just fun, however. We learned a lot of new things about one another's communication styles, senses of humor, and the way we think. We went in assuming we knew each other pretty well -- and left with a new appreciation for each other. Even the most skeptical among us were won over by the charm, fun, and insight we got from the event. read more

We brought Nerd Improv to our company to run a workshop for our Women in Leadership group. Danny and Chris came onsite and ran a wonderful workshop for us. The early apprehension from some folks evaporated after the first game, and even convinced some skeptics about the value of improv! The participants all had a blast and came to me afterwards with rave reviews. I'd bring Danny and the team back in a heartbeat. read more

Like most reviewers, I was tasked to find something fun for a team event, after searching high and low, NerdImprov came on my radar. What can I say, Danny and Claire are amazing!!! Both of them have an abundant amount of energy and that itself brings out the best out of everyone. My team was highly pleased with the event even though some were hesitant about "Improv." I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good team event. read more

OMggggg! Danny crushed it for our team. While I'm not our designated office planner, I always like to have a part in picking out what we do for our team outings. Nerd Improv and Danny did not disappoint. Seriously one of the most fun days ever. I do sales, so being able to stay on my toes in conversations with clients is always important -- improv is so incredibly helpful for that. Some members of our team were a bit nervous to go, but as soon as we got there everyone got into it and had a blast read more

My search for a teambuilding activity with a legal team had Improv low on the list until a conversation with Danny, I was immediately sold. Danny's first questions were about the goals of the team meeting and we were able to quickly align on how Nerd Improv could set the tone and emphasize the skills we were looking to highlight. The two hours with Danny flew by and we had a blast despite some strong skepticism at the beginning. Danny is able to immediately put the group at ease and create an environment full of laughter and intentional learning. We were able to use what we learned with Nerd Improv throughout our week together and we are a better team for it. Highly recommend for any group who is looking to improve trust and communication through laughter. read more

SO awesome! We brought Nerd Improv in for a team building workshop and the feedback I got afterwards was great - a lot of people said it was their favorite thing we've ever done. I especially like that we got to learn some new skills around listening and communication and that we got to have fun while doing it. And Danny was a great workshop leader, he's really funny and he gives a nice mix of constructive feedback and encouragement. read more

Danny's workshops are fun, interactive, and fresh. I hadn't done improv until Nerd Improv and I try to catch every session we have at our company. I enjoy the pressure of coming up with catchy responses in a short amount of time. I think it carries into other creative work that I do. read more

Our team recently had an onsite meeting in San Francisco where Nerd Improv hosted a team building event at our office. Danny from Nerd Improv spent 2.5 hours with us at a recent team offsite. He was excellent at facilitating a series of improv exercises that the team enjoyed. Danny from Nerd Improv came to our company super last minute and killed it. He got our group of about 10 people laughing and engaging almost immediately. We do different team building events every quarter over the last few years and this one was a consensus winner. People couldn't stop talking about how awesome it was. I highly recommend it! read more

We had such an amazing time with Nerd Improv and could not have thought of a better or more fun teambuilding activity for our group of 20. Even those who at first felt a little hesitant to dive in and just be silly got really into it by the end of the event. Everyone left the event feeling pretty fired up and I'd say Danny helped us blow our two goals of having fun and building camaraderie out of the water. We even managed to get three noise complaints from the venue for having way too much fun. (venues with neighbors in close proximity are probably not the most ideal for a very energetic group and such a fun activity!) ‍ Thanks for a great day Danny - that was so awesome!! read more

We had a wonderful time with Nerd Improv's Danny last week! This was a really neat opportunity for our team to engage with one another in a fun way, but also with the benefit of improved communication. Every activity included a message on how to better communicate with one another. Danny was really engaging, and it was clear that our staff opened up quickly after the first round in a new way - by the end, everyone was striking poses! Thank you, Nerd Improv, for a fun afternoon with our team! read more

If you're looking for a Team Building activity that is FUN, inexpensive, different from what is out there, and that will bring your team out of their shell- TRY NERD IMPROV! Nerd Improv will bring out everyone's goofy side while building team trust and camaraderie- the best way to start any offsite. My team went into this experience feeling nervous and anxious (including myself), but Danny was the best in making everyone feel comfortable and confident. He suggested starting the day off with the team building- such a great idea! People were more open and susceptible to talking about the tedious and challenging topics we had planned for the rest of the day. Danny is easy to work with, flexible, and will try to work with your budget. Guaranteed laughs throughout the entire event. I would suggest an open space, preferably outside, and to advise your team to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. read more

Our team at work was getting together for several days of team meetings and trainings, with some team building activities mixed in. We weren't told by leadership about any of the activities and were very surprised, and admittedly skeptical, when one of the activities was Nerd Improv. The consensus after two hours of Danny leading us through different team exercises and games was resounding excitement and approval. We had so much fun, all the while strengthening our collaboration skills, listening skills and team dynamic. I would highly recommend Nerd Improv for any team building event. read more

We had an outstanding time with NerdImprov at our team building activity. I was nervous at first because the group was shy and nobody was very clear on what improv was. By far, this is the absolute best way to start any team offsite. My team is rather reserved so I was a bit nervous to introduce an Improv activity. But exactly what I was hoping what happened did! Everyone came out of their shell and had a great time. Even though there were some vulnerable moments it allowed for the team to open up and find what it truly means to support and trust each other. Danny, our amazing instructor, was able to effectively get everyone out of their comfort zones in a safe, fun and nurturing environment. His level of expertise shows through right from the get go. I would highly recommend, actually urge you, to hire Nerd Improv for your next team offsite! read more
