My mother passed away 7 hours ago and the technicians finally showed up. They were very caring and great. My problem is that we NEVER received ANY communication from Neptune. We had to chase them over and over again. When we did get a call they said they would be here 615 or 630. They finally arrived at 730pm without any sort of notification. I know things happen and come up, but even on a Saturday one would expect some sort of dialog between Neptune and my family about my Mom's remains. Let alone that my 87 year old Father had to wait in limbo while the love of his life lay motionless in the next room. They made an already difficult day even more stressful. Again, nothing against the lovely people who did show up. But this is a service that we are paying for at a time of distress and sadness and this felt like a big fail. A simple phone call to say that they were behind schedule would have made all the difference. I only hope the rest of the process with Neptune is better. read more

From the first phone call to the final service, every interaction was handled with empathy and respect. Ben and his staff treated us with kindness and made sure every detail was attended to, allowing us to focus on remembering and honoring our mother. I would wholeheartedly recommend Neptune Cremation Service to anyone in need of caring and professional funeral services. read more

After my father passed recently we saw the paperwork for Neptune in his file. Three years ago, when he was noticeably frail, one of their salesman talked him into a prepaid cremation. These are against the law in WA state. The package is a complete scam. It is $35 a month for 7 years (!!). Cremation does not cost $3K. Basically, they are charging $1,612 for a wood box. Their bad business practices are why they were recently sued for millions, a case they lost. There are no favors here for not having a finance charge, they aren't providing anything until someone dies. Do not, under any circumstances, do business with these people. There is a reason the State of WA made this practice illegal. read more

I was sold a package over the phone in 2021. I am a senior and my husband left me at the age of 77, I was 63. I was worried about the future so I bought a 5,000 plan. I have paid fifty dollars a month for over two years. I have 2,200 in my account. I wrote to them to inform them that I'd like to take my money out, that I have decided cremation is not for me. They refunded me 200 dollars and are planning to keep 2,000 which they said I owe for the box. I offered to r E turn the box. I was declined. This is ELDER ABUSE at its very finest! I live on social security and have very little money . I NEED my money back and will fight tooth and bail until I receive it. Karen kucharski Portland, Oregon read more

After spending several hours on hold with local government entities attempting to gain information about my brothers passing I decided to try and coordinate the cremation. I was fortunate to select Neptune Society as the first service to call and reached Will Saul. Will was compassionate and caring. No attempt to upsell, add on charges etc. He explained what Neptune would do for our family and then took the admin burden of dealing with the state bureaucracy off our shoulders. He communicated frequently on the status of our loved one's remains and they were delivered expeditiously to our mother. Mr. Saul was the consummate professional during a very difficult time and when it mattered most. Thanks Will for your stellar commitment to your profession. Frank read more

Neptune Cremation Services and spoke with Erick Weiler. Eric was very personable and he gave me all of the specifics of their services quickly. He answered any questions I had, and told me what to do if I had any further questions. I would like to add that I found Eric to be a very good face for this company. His voice was upbeat throughout the conversation and I found it very easy to talk with him. Excellent customer service! I worked customer service for Tektronix for a few years, after a long career there. I know Good customer service when I hear it, and Eric does his job beautifully. He made what might have been an uncomfortable conversation Very easy. I was not quite sure what I wanted to do, and he made the decision very easy for me. It's very good to feel everything's been put in order. Thank you, Eric and Neptune! read more

I believe Neptune provides a much needed service and evidence supports what a good job they do. Kyndra was a delight to work with. She is very knowledgeable and personable. Neptune went above and beyond what I expected. They came to collect the body in a timely manner and they were very respectful of everyone. I thought that things were all going well. They we contacted and I called and asked Benjamin to contact me when they received my mother's body and belongings. However this didn't happen. When I called to find out what the status was I was told they picked up her body a week ago and nobody ever contacted me to let me know. Luckily when we stopped by to pick up her belongings Regan was a huge help. He took care of all our questions and help us with the final steps, thank you Regan. read more

The local funeral director in Portland OR for Neptune (Regan Hinton) was great to work with. He was responsive to our questions and simplified the process for us. My mother pre-paid for this service, which made it so easy for us as a family. We didn't have to try to figure out what to do. Regan and his team took care of everything once they were notified, which was really helpful as we grieved her passing. We will be using Regan's funeral services again when my stepfather passes, who is also on hospice. And I'm grateful it's all set up in advance. read more

My father passed a few years ago sold probably hundreds on the Nep Soc. What a scam, they claimed they lost the cert number we had. We were not in clear mind and paid $1,200 (was far less when my father bought it). They showed up at the door with the gurney to place the body. They opened a plastic bag and were going to put him in. My sister said could you at least wrap him in a sheet, I will get one. The driver said no we have them but because of covid.... VERY LAZY! Then they go to put him in the ODYSSEY (older model) was so old the back would not stay up and the two people had a hard time getting him in as one had to hold the top because the prop was broken on the Odyssey. I think they are a scam and look at other cremation services in your area my brother was 800 including all fees. We bought the urn online at quarter the cost and better looking at Walmart. read more

I just needed everyone to know that Neptune Cremation service at at it still! While trying to read a post I had 13 post from Neptune Cremation Services show up! I have called and ask them to please remove all of the information they have of me and to stop texting me, calling me or sending me any information in the mail! I'm so tired of all of their Cyber Harassment!!!!, I can't make them understand that they started Harassing me 2 days after I lost my husband. I even explained that we had prepaid for our needs 5 years before and we do not need their services! I'm really trying to be nice by not filing a lawsuit, yet they still Harass me! I really strongly suggest that everyone stay away from Neptune Cremation, don't open any of their posts or do anything else that they could get any of your information, once they get you email your phone, computer and iPad will blowup with them trying to sale you Cremation, Even when you tell them thank you but No think you, you will still be Harassed! I read the reviews and my experince I found them to be very comforting , the guys who came to pick up my mom were really nice and didn't rush me , they brought a quilt instead of a black body bag like i thought they would, and the people in the office were very nice , yes, i feel there urns are way over priced. My mom had set up her cremation in calif. but i brought her up to oregon and she passed away here, the transfer went great , no trouble at all, I got the death certificates with her ashes , and i brought in a urn , they placed her in it , I am sorry for the people who had a bad experience with them ,but i would highly recommend them , Ben was my person i dealt with , he was very nice , read more

My husband and I had signed up for prepaid services several years ago. My husband recently passed away and I was very disappointed at the lack of professionalism. I'd like to compliment Regan Hinton from the Neptune office in Portland, Oregon. Our mother passed away recently, and Regan was such a huge help to us. He was patient and kind, and was a pleasure to deal with during our difficult time. Thank you, Regan! read more

I dont understand how anyone could rate Neptune under a 5 star. They have been stellar in taking care of my moms prearranged service. It has been the easiest transition in handling my moms death. Mom bought the creamation package over 8 years ago and i still thank her everyday for making it easier on us. I am also going to purchase the service for myself to help my kids through those tough times. There was no hidden charges or hassles. Upon my mothers death it was one phone call and they came and took good care of her. Love this service and thank you Neptune!!! read more

Regan went far above the call of duty! Even after Neptune had fulfilled their services in a state of grace and ease, I needed some assistance and Regan came to the rescue without hesitation! He was my hero in this situation! I strongly encourage using Neptune for cremation arrangements. They make this very emotionally charged situation so much easier to get through. When the people showed up to carry our loved one's body away, they asked some questions I wasn't prepared to answer, especially in my devastated state. When I showed them the Neptune card, the woman replied, "Oh, she has Neptune! No worries! It's all taken care of!" I also would like to add that Kyndra has been a wonderful sales person and she has such patience! I have been going through so much that I have not been able to sit down and start the plan yet myself. She has been kind, patient, and forgiving during this entire process. Neptune is a wonderful option to a challenging end-of-life situation. read more

My mother signed up for Neptune Society being told that everything would be taken care of so we, her family, would not have to worry about her cremation. She asked what would happen if she passed before it was paid off and she was told that it would be covered even if she had only made a few payments. She has now just passed after 2 payments and they lied. They are now saying that the family has to pay $2300 for the cremation! We called Neptune and was told that was a sales tactic and nothing they can do about it. We are able to have her moved to a local funeral home and have everything done for a much lesser cost. Would not recommend Neptune at all. read more

When my mother died this spring, I dreaded making the call to Neptune. My mother had informed us that she had prepaid with them, but she had no paperwork or documentation, only a wooden box for her remains. I mentally prepared myself for a difficult conversation. On the very difficult day of her passing, I reached out to the number on their website. From the very first interaction, I was highly impressed by the professionalism and efficiency of the Neptune team. They moved my mom, took care of her final wishes, and kept us informed on every step. From the day I called until the day I went to pick up her ashes and death certificates, I was consistently impressed with the company. Never once during the entire process did anyone try to "up-sell" me in any regard. I was offered no-cost grief counseling. Today, eight months later, I received an email offering holiday-specific grief counseling, again at no charge. I was extremely pleased with every aspect of my experience with Neptune, and would recommend them without hesitation. read more

My second experience with Neptune Society. The 1st was in the Seattle area, and it was fully first class. Unfortunately, the Happy Valley, OR office has several challenges. When I arrived to pick up my Mom's ashes, they could not find the death certificates. 1 week later, 2 calls later, they claimed to have mailed death certificates. Now 10 days after the claimed mailing date, several calls, and still no death certificates, with no ability to prove that, nor to track the mailing. The postmaster tells me it should take no more than 2 days to arrive from their office to my home. According to AARP, 2.5 million cases of ID theft from deceased people occur annually. Death certificates have all the deceased information. Date of birth, mothers maiden name, place of birth, SSN#, home address, name of spouse, the industry they primarily worked in, everything needed for ID theft/fraud. After multiple calls, I asked to speak with the GM, Kristina Taylor: "as a professional" Kristina repeatedly insisted that the death certificates could not be used for ID theft or by anyone other than the "listed informant" ( executor of the estate) She was uncaring about the missing documents and was unconcerned about any risk associated with the data on the documents. Her only solution was to simply wait until the lost mail shows up. She did not understand why I was upset or concerned. Shameful as her office, her leadership, reflect very poorly on the Neptune Society, which generally is first class. read more

Cremation/funeral services are, of course, a service no one looks forward to, but they are services we all will require at one time or another. Our family was extremely fortunate to have made arrangements for our mother with Neptune Cremation Service beforehand. We were most kindly cared for. Funeral Director, Anna DeLong, went above and beyond, going so far as to make a personal delivery on a holiday weekend! In a day and age when "customer service" often feels like a thing of the past, THIS company, and This Funeral Director, literally went the extra mile for us. We are grateful! read more

My mother passed away in 2009 and Kelly D took care of us. The process was seamless and they aren't pushy. The only thing that upset me, was I decided last minute i wanted to view my mother and the receptionist told me it would be $250 for them to basically lay her covered on a gurney. I was livid. In the end they did the right thing and didn't charge but as they don't embalm or prepare people they should not be charging a fee. All in all the staff is very kind and answers all questions and concerns. Cremation freaks me out so Kelly even showed me the crematory which made it less scary. Sadly, my Papa passed this past Friday and we have entrusted his care again with Neptune. I even have a friend buried in the Neptune Memorial Reef off the coast of FL. Great option especially for nature, environment and water lovers read more

Be wary of this company. An elderly relative met with a sales rep (to save us future trouble) then woke up with second thoughts. The rep had made a home visit and attempted to sell the Neptune "package" deal. In going through the paperwork to insure that everything is cancelled, I saw that they were planning to charge $969 for a "memento package" which consists of a wooden urn, a chest with latch, 25 thank you cards, and a "Neptune information book". My guess is that this junk would have a collective value of about $20 (I'm being generous). Doing a little research reveals why Neptune allocated so much of the budget to the "memento package". Most states require companies that make these kinds of "pre-sales" to hold most of the money in trust so that, in the event that anything happens to the company, buyers will get a refund and be able to switch to a different company. By shifting a large portion of the purchase to "merchandise" the company can pocket the money immediately and avoid their responsibility to hold the funds in trust. You may read about this at www.funerals.org/newsandblogsmenu/blogdailydirge/89-all-about-neptune or you may google these words: "DORA's Division of Insurance Alleges Neptune Society Used "Bait and Switch" to Lure Consumers to Purchase Pre-Need Funeral Contracts") The entire package with financing was going to cost this elderly person $2399. I'm told that a simple cremation service can be had for around $1000. To top it off, online reviews do not instill confidence in the service that this company offers. read more

If there were the option for 10 stars, I'd give that as my rating. I don't even know where to start to express how grateful I am for the amazing services we received from Bracken. He bent over backwards to make sure all the necessary paperwork was processed in a very short period of time in order that we could scatter my father's ashes in Oregon. This included him arranging to have documents hand-carried, over-nighted and in all ways possible expedited to make sure we could have the memorial on the date and in the location we'd hoped for. And all the while he kept me constantly updated with emails and phone calls. I don't know that I've ever received such care and excellent customer service ever from anyone. read more

Contacted this office, but they wouldn't share any actual costs, kept pushing for a face to face, and I just wanted to comparison shop. I cannot say enough good about this service. Kelly, the funeral director, was patient, understanding and kind. Her staff came to a remote area to pick up my Father who was on hospice care. The next day we had all the paperwork to Kelly and everything was a breeze. Thank you for making a difficult time less difficult. read more
