Came here for a 222 event with zero idea what to expect--and it turned out to be such an unexpectedly amazing experience! Our instructor, Maya, was a total gem. She specializes in sculpting these adorable little monster figurines (seriously, so cute), which is exactly what we got to make. The process was definitely time-intensive, but so satisfying and worth every second. Honestly, I wish we had more time--I could've kept sculpting all day. Our group was seated outside on the patio, which comfortably fit everyone. The weather was chef's kiss--sunny with a touch of breeze, perfect for hanging out and getting creative. They ordered pizza for the group (yes please), and while coffee was provided... let's just say it was there for moral support more than flavor. All in all, this place was such a fun and refreshing change of pace. I'm obsessed with the whole concept and would absolutely love to come back--just not sure in what capacity yet. Either way, I'm keeping it on my radar!

Beautiful space in the garden patio!

NEON is my absolute favorite place to work remotely in the city. The prices are so affordable, especially considering the free coffee and the high speed WiFi! The garden patio is beautiful and a wonderful place to sit with my laptop on a sunny afternoon. On Fridays there's delicious breakfast burritos for sale too! Everyone who works here is really friendly, and I appreciate that taking calls in the space is expressly permitted with headphones - I don't feel awkward needing to hop on a video call occasionally, and there's phone booths indoors and plenty of space in the garden to avoid disrupting others. I'm so happy this place exists! It's a much better alternative to membership based coworking spaces for me and now I look forward to when meetings bring me into the city on weekdays.

5 stars for the concept & community building events. Because I don't fit the demographic fell free to ignore my experience, as this stuff probably won't bother you, Work booths need wider ledge, barely room for laptop, sound baffling would be nice. People don't respect others, ignore the 'respect your buddies headphones please" signs, which need to be posted by EVERY station. Will return if I buy some noise canceling headphones, which hurt my head, so working at Starbucks will have to suffice for now. Or forgive the idea, actually work from home!

Teddy and the Neon team made my engagement party and Friendsgiving an absolute dream to execute. As an event planner, I'm pretty particular about logistics and flow, and they handled everything from coordination to setup and breakdown seamlessly. We hosted around 35 guests in the full space, and the team ensured every detail felt effortless. I'd work with Teddy and Neon again in a heartbeat!

Neon is a great alternative to traditional co working spaces like we work . It's certainly more intimate. I arrived around 10:30 am on a Wednesday and most of the "comfortable" seats were taken so I soaked up sun morning sun at the table outside. An optional sun umbrella would be great to cover screen glare. Sightglass coffee, tea and water are available for free all day- though the coffee did not taste good to me, burntish. The main room has an array of couches, tall tables, and regular family style tables to choose from as well as a few open air "cubbies" to take calls from. I don't think there are any private rooms available. So bring headphones if you can focus when others take calls around you. Teddy the owner was a super nice guy and chatted regularly with neighbors and clients. They have a few tablet sized displays you can use for your Laptops, plenty of outlets, and support local artisans by selling their pieces. There's also a secret garden in the back that looked a bit too chilly for me though they mentioned they had space heaters available. They host events at night regularly for a fee, sometimes there or elsewhere (comedy, open mic etc). Plenty of lunch options nearby on union st. Overall very cute spot, $5/hr or $25 for the day, but for 25 a day I'd love to see them get some complimentary snacks and a few private call rooms, and the ability to reserves a seat in advance (maybe cap it at 5 seats per day so there's plenty of walk in space).

If you work from home, this place is the answer. Neon is a gift to the neighborhood and everyone who works from home. Ever since I started working from home, I have been hoping for something like Neon to come into existence. I have an unpredictable work schedule and can't commit to a monthly membership model (which literally every coworking space except Neon requires), so Neon's drop in model is absolutely perfect and is totally reasonably priced. The space is big, colorful, and has a great energy to it. Plus, it's dog friendly (huge plus!), has free coffee and tea included in the drop in rate, and has a huge backyard where you can also work on sunny days.

However, I do know the struggles of setting up an entire picnic on your own (I did it two years ago for her birthday) and all the stress associated with it. Our picnic and Co made it so EASY and it was so beautiful! I scheduled it for 11:00 (the set up was ready by 9:45 as I had asked if I could drop food off) and it was held at Lindley Meadow in Golden Gate Park. I didn't end up leaving any of my food/items at the picnic place (as I had to leave to pick up my friend to surprise her!) as the picnic was unattended - and you know ever know with this city - so I ended up taking my things back with me to the car. My friend loved the set up - and so did so many strangers!! We got so many compliments on the set up that someone passing by told us that she should take a photo for us and she did! 10/10 amazing! I loved it. Our Picnic was so easy to work with and created an amazing experience - stress free!

Even before we officially hired her, Jackie was acting like our wedding planner, and immediately began throwing out ideas that showcased our main focus for our wedding (delicious food and a beautiful outdoor venue). We could tell right from our first call that Jackie was truly excited about our vision and "got it." From there, Jackie was a true creative/collaborative partner, and helped make our special day a reality. Jackie brought a wealth of knowledge and wisdom to our planning - while she was always encouraging of our vision and would find a way to make my crazy ideas possible, she also was quick to offer a reality check based on her extensive experience (ex: she very smartly and politely informed us that using scented candles at our reception - while trendy - would likely summon bees and might get overwhelming given all the other floral scents in the garden reception area). We almost exclusively used vendors from Jackie's recommended list and each and every one did an absolutely stellar job. Jackie also did a phenomenal job of working with our outside vendors, and was even able to use her extensive professional network to solicit feedback on vendors we used outside of her list. She made the wedding process seamless and significantly less stressful than if we planned it ourselves, which allowed us to truly enjoy our wedding weekend and be present with our family and friends - if anything went wrong on our big day, we had no clue because About Joy had it handled! Once we had finalized all the major items with Jackie, Cookie worked closely with us to pull together details that added a very special touch to our wedding. She custom designed and drew our wedding signage, table numbers and menus to showcase our unique tastes and personalities. We had an outdoor venue and wanted to incorporate the plant life from the venue in our wedding materials, and Cookie drew 12 separate menu covers and table numbers that highlighted this plant life, and then hid custom sketches of our dog into each table number to bring in one of the important pieces of our life to our wedding - we love the designs so much they're going to be framed and put up in our home! Along the design journey, Cookie brought us along and solicited feedback, always taking our garbled thoughts and seamlessly translating them into a beautiful end product. She also brought so many unique ideas and suggestions to the table, including turning our escort table into a "meadow" and hiding our dog in the signage. It's clear that Cookie is passionate about design and her excitement for our wedding specifically really helped sustain our momentum in the final months leading up to the big day. Jackie and Cookie were truly dream wedding planners, and were lucky to say that they're now friends for life. Would 100% recommend hiring Jackie and Cookie from AboutJoy for your wedding.

She steered me in the right direction when I needed help with finding various vendors. Through her, I ended up choosing my DJ, florist, transportation, and cake vendors. She showed up to coordinate my City Hall ceremony and though she could not make my reception due to not feeling well (rare in her case), her colleague Cookie handled everything amazingly. I highly recommend Jackie for your wedding. I miss her now that my wedding is over.

What I got from my first meeting with Joy was deep listening, curious questioning and a professional match maker from toe to head. While my time knowing Joy as a client has been but 1.5 years, she has introduced me to so many incredible people from her network. With that said, she also introduced me to this spectacular human being who is now my partner in love. She is weird, has SOOOOO many overlapping experiences (Landmark education etc.) and has been instrumental in who I have become today. Joy set up my first and possibly last blind date, it was done with setting the intention i.e. location and logistics. I was to carry a flower/and a book not only as my marker, but also a great below the surface ice breaker. It was awesome, Joy now continues in my life as a friend and an igniter for deeper and sillier experiences that are glass half full and wholesome. Of course I was not going to continue when the options were $66,000, $50,000 and $27,000. So I decided to stop with 5 weeks left, as i had no interest in paying for a photo shoot and having help with what to wear etc. and "maybe" getting one "introduction" out of it. Obviously this was not for me. Bottom line is she never mentioned future costs after I already paid $4080 until a couple of weeks later only to say there would be a deposit, with no $ figure. To say the least I was shocked. She blames me for not asking but i think this is a very non-transparent way of doing business. Sounds like many people out there think she's great. Apparently they are fine with spending that kind of money. I'd rather go to Europe.
