She showed me a couple places I wasn't wild about but then we walked to the other end of the neighborhood to check out one that wasn't on the market yet due to renovations. We met the building owner that day. I signed a lease soon after, and she was there helping throughout the entire process! Highly recommended!

I met with Jenny during a recent apartment search, which was in the first week of the month (specifically, we met on the 3rd). I was seeking an apartment for the following month. After showing me one apartment that I didn't love, I felt like she pressured me to like it more -- telling me how perfect the landlords were, how I wouldn't find anything else like it, harping on features that ultimately didn't matter to me. It was incredibly awkward, and I found myself repeating that it's simply a matter of preference. It turned out that this was one of two apartments she had available at the time; the other was in a completely different location than where I had wanted. After this, she told me that I had started my search for an apartment too late, and that most apartments for the following month were already rented by now. As someone that was needing to find an apartment during the busy summer season, this was a stressful thing to hear. I ended up quickly finding an apartment with the next broker I met with. More importantly, though, were the vast number of apartments that became available throughout the week and the month. (Of course it wasn't too late to find a place on the 3rd, how could I have believed this?) While I don't like writing negative reviews of people in the neighborhood, I'm posting this in hopes that anyone with a similar experience will take it with a grain of salt. There are so many apartments in Astoria and in NYC overall. Don't let anyone rush your search. An apartment is a personal and important decision. And most importantly: your options are not constrained, regardless of what you're told.

We made the appointment for 4:15pm at 11am this morning. In less than 5 hours to view the apartment, it increased $100 dollars. I thought it may have been an error. No word from Spito Maravegias. After viewing the apartment, I ask for an application. Spiro Maravegias response was "this is the thing" and gave a huff as Spiro Maravegias asked "what is your credit score" as if he premeditated a disappointment. I was ten points below. Spiro Maravegias asked did we spoke about it, "No we did not" was my reply. Nor was it in the description. Spiro Maravegias gave a sad voice and said "well sorry". I dismissed myself by saying have a good day feeling utterly insane for coming. Totally fine. But he didn't bother to say; he would get back in touch if there are other opportunities, if anything comes up, sole guarantee or whatever its called. etc. Why would you invite someone to the viewing without that information. ( Secondly, did you raise the asking price LAST MINUTE, that was beyond strange). Photos for proof below that it was changed in a matter of an hour or so. Better communication and create a better approach when you assume something is up not to your standards.

Recently I had to break my lease due to a new job opportunity in the west coast. When I contacted Mina to tell her the news and that I needed to show the apartment ASAP she acted very quickly and stayed in constant contact with me to help find someone to take over my lease. She is someone who goes above and beyond her job description and I recommend her to anyone looking for their next apartment.

Despite her being over 30 mins…read morelate to the showing we'd scheduled, I quickly forgot when she showed me an apartment that was exactly what we wanted. We applied for the apartment and were approved within 24 hours. I even gave up a non-refundable deposit on another apartment because this one was worth it. Unfortunately, I was completely fooled by her facade -- she is a bonafide LIAR. A few days later (two days before lease signing) I received a text from Vickie that the tenant and his wife were supposedly getting a divorce and that he wasn't leaving until July (I needed a June 1st start date). She promised an interim move to an apartment across the street, but every time I tried to meet with her to finalize things there was some excuse, and it got to the point where she would only answer texts (sometimes) but never answer calls. She continued to lead me on for three weeks and left me in a very vulnerable situation (pretended she was going to show me another property, only to never respond about an appointment time) and even got to the point where July turned into August for the current tenant's move out date. Days before I needed to move I found another broker who was absolutely awesome and ended up finding us an even better apartment ASAP! To top it off, a few days later I saw that the apartment was posted on streateasy (for a higher price then Vickie told us it was...hmmm) and asked her for the application fee back, and let her know that we were not happy with her dishonesty -- she should have never showed us an apartment that wasn't available. She then tried to accuse me of "vanishing" when I had proof of all of our text conversations (since she wouldn't answer the phone), and even tried an excuse about her phone being broken. I had seen other reviews about Vickie's questionable (to put it nicely) practices, but her reply to them made it seem like they were just unreasonable or disgruntled customers. I should have believed what I read in the first place. I hope Vickie learns that it is not okay to treat people like this. STAY FAR AWAY!

We signed the lease and our first night there I was bitten. I had a severe allergic reaction to the bite and ended up in the ER. We ended up moving out within the week. After all this she tried to get us to sign a liability release form but by then we had learned about the bedbug disclosure act and used it to take them and the management company, Allioni, to court. She and this company are completely dishonest. Our ordeal with her was traumatic and expensive and I advise everyone to avoid this company entirely.
