Swung by to finally try Rockin Rolls. You pay at the front and it is all you can eat. There is a sauce bar with tons of options. Once seated you can select a couple of options for hibachi or other appetizers. The sushi goes around on a conveyer belt and you select what you want to eat. You slide a little door and grab a plate. Such a cute idea and fun place to try new rolls!

Before we get started, let's set our expectations correctly: this is all you can eat sushi and hibachi for less than $15 (lunch) and less than $20 for dinner. I'd like to consider it as the Cici's Pizza of sushi, but a notch above. ( Note: Please wear your stretchy clothes because I left with a 16 month old food baby.) ADULTS: THERE IS NO ALCOHOL, so it's a family friendly environment. The customer service was good and the people at the register were friendly. They have booths and individual seats if you come alone. The food comes on a conveyor belt and you grab what you like as you go. There's also a tablet where you can order hot food such as egg/spring rolls, crab rangoons, shrimp tempura, hibachi, etc. The hot food comes at no additional cost and is included in the price of the buffet Also, there were a few desserts to choose from. Food: 7.5 out of 10 There is a wide variety of things to choose from such as Christmas rolls, Philadelphia rolls, seaweeed salad, etc. The sushi was pretty good, but some rolls contained a lot of rice compared others. (I understand they probably have to make things stretch due to it being a buffet style.) The steak for the hibachi was a tad chewy, but the vegetables were nicely cooked. The hibachi sauce is very tasty! There was a cheesecake and a chocolate mousse cake for dessert. The cheesecake wasn't my favorite. The cheese wasn't sweet and it was a little too prevalent for my taste. The topping on the mousse was good, but the cake was a little cardboard-y. Speed of Service: 6/10 There were 2 different sections of booths. The side that I wasn't sitting on seemed to have food rolling out faster for about 10-15 minutes but they eventually caught up. Also, it took about 30-40 minutes for my order of steak hibachi and shrimp tempura to come to the table. There was a lot of people when I came, so it may be a shorter wait time if there are less people. Parking is available in the front and adjacent streets. Overall, it's a good cheap eat. I would recommend to a friend, but just make sure you let them know it isn't fine dining sushi.

Great prices for all you can eat sushi, food was nonstop on the sushi conveyor belt. We had a great time

Seating area, friends and sushi

The tables were very poorly setup for more than 4 people. The staff was very unhelpful and told us there was cooked sushi options available via the table side tablet, however there were no sushi options on tablet. The hibachi we ordered from the tablet was pitifully small and it took 40 minutes to arrive. Extremely disappointed in this location and my friends were very unhappy too. 10/10 Would not recommend

Absolutely the best sushi place to be at . The price is pretty fair for all you can East sushi plus a few hot items you can order at table . Very fresh no fishy smell in building or taste in food . Cool place to go if you've never been . Our second time going and certainly not the last only complaint is there not being one closer and not in Charlotte lol

Went for lunch with a couple gal pals. They were excited about how low cost it was. I was a bit reticent. $13.99 AYCE conveyor belt sushi seems suspect. We were there after the lunch rush (if there ever was one) maybe three other tables in the whole place. You pay at the counter, everything is self service. The sushi itself was fine, a LOT of rice, not quite enough filling, okay variety and decent amounts, never had to wait for a piece we wanted. The fact that the AYCE price included the fresh ordered from the kitchen items, like teriyaki/hibachi, dumplings, crab Rangoon and fried rice, make it worth a stop. My pregnant friend got the chicken teriyaki and said it was quite tasty and veggies were cooked properly. The fried items were nothing to write home about, but not terrible. Now, this COULD be completely unrelated, as I felt fine the rest of the day, but the next day I was dealing with some very unusual nausea spells. Can't say it was from here, neither of my friends felt ill, but I cannot rule it out either.

Eel Sushi

Placed a takeout order they forgot one roll and they expect me to drive all the way back just to show them. Poor customer service, un knowledgeable staff.

I am hooked on Sushi!! I looked on line for a Ayce , so hard to find without being on a chinese buffet. Anyone who has had Japanese Sushi knows there is a difference! There is no comparison. When you arrive you pay before you are told where to sit. They are practicing social distancing and doing every other table as well as they shut the conveyor Off that they normally serve the the sushi at each table.. I have heard of this from friends in other places. Would have been a fun experience. Here you use a ipad to keep the orders coming, it is mounted on every table. it's pretty fast. Then someone brings to your table. As much as you want when you want. We really did enjoy everything. The service was great keeping the empty plates off the table. They have quite a bit to pick from , nothing too fancy on the rolls. The one that had a banana in it was ok, alittle sweet and different, that was a must try. It was a pretty good place not as good as Vegas Ayce Sushi but it helps finding one we like that isn't too far away. We would go back for sure sometime.

We went on a weekday for an early lunch, so selections were limited - but we still ate our fill! The staff were super nice, clearing our empty dishes quickly and checking to see if we needed anything. Our little Robo server also did a great job bringing out the plates we ordered off the iPad. One thing I really loved is that if you want to try sushi, you can just grab a piece from the conveyor belt without committing to a full roll or wasting food. It makes trying new things easy and low pressure. Service was awesome. Our waiter was funny, helpful, and made the experience even better. The food was delicious across the board--from the gyoza to the sushi and dessert. Pricing was very reasonable for how much we ordered. I'd definitely come back and recommend it if you're looking for something a little different!

I had the best time here kinda late at night last Saturday. We got there at about 10:24pm and were…read morereally just happy they were open. The host greeted us and was super nice, she did mention the kitchen closes at 10:50 but that we were more than welcome to come inside just that we should order soon. I really appreciated that!! Our server was nice and attentive and I made sure to order quickly. I was starving anyway so this was all perfect, honestly lol. I tried the sora roll which is: spicy yellowtail and cucumber, topped with yellowtail and avocado, crispy shallots, masago, spring onions, and yuzu miso reduction. THIS WAS FANTASTIC!!!!!!!! I probably could've eaten two. I will 100% be back very soon to have this again lol. I also tried their brussel sprouts and really loved those too! They were cooked and flavored perfectly. I also really love the ambiance of this place. It was perfectly dime lit and it just looks soooooooo nice inside. The decor, the bar, everything was super nice. This is a great date night spot for sure!!!!

The only access problem was the parking as the parking lane is very narrow. I don't know if there's additional parking for Yama but I drive a truck so I had to back out of the parking entrance. Just drove around the corner onto a Main Street, not South Blvd, n viola there was street parking on the side, no signs for time limits. All good. It was for a late lunch with visiting friends. Atmosphere for this meetup made us stay later than we should have bc I think we stayed til around 4:30pm? Lunch service finished maybe around 2:30-2:45? Felt badly for the person at the reception but he said it was no problem. I hv bn to Yama in Waverly a couple of times n now Yama Loso. Both serve a modern twist to Asian dishes. I love traditional Japanese meals but I also enjoy twists in recipes once in a while. Spicy edamame for starters. Looked great but I can't eat spice at the moment so I can't rate it tho my friends did eat it all up. Ate the sushi rice bowl but w/o the spicy aioli sauce n asked for something else which was on the sweet side. Comforting meal, not overwhelming, just right. Edamame, cucumbers, yellow pickled daikon, tuna, salmon, avocado. A simple lunch was all I needed. Then, the hamachi neck part came grilled, not on the menu but if they hv it they'll serve it tender n juicy. Only reason I left a star out was bc of the parking. Other than that, I'd probably go there again if I'm on that side of Charlotte but for me Waverly is closest.
