Dr Nemirov is a concierge doctor and I don't think he understands what a Concierge Doctor is. My husband and I met with him explained what our needs were. My husband has eight doctors and we needed help managing the doctors and having a doctor that communicates with all of them. Dr Nemirov said he would do that and we would be a good fit. The first question we had Dr. Nemirov, had my husband calling his doctor about a medication and then calling him back. We were doing his work for him and that's not why we hired him. My husband also called him about something on his cell phone, which they provided to us and he snapped at my husband as to why he was calling his cell phone number is part of being a Concierge Doctor. He lacked any type of concern or empathy for my husband. He definitely should not be a cashier's doctor, especially with Hoag. read more

UPDATE: It's interesting that all of the NEWER reviews of this doctor are a) positive (and that's great!) and b) written after another Yelper (Amy) and I bitterly complained about the poor treatment we received at the hands of this office. What I hope it means is that the doctor has shaped himself and his staff up. That said, I stand firmly behind my original review. I also take exception to the audacity of another review's thinly veiled accusation about what happened with the Medicare checks in the case of my father. There was no "bad day" with this doctor....the entire experience was reprehensible. He's supposed to be a healer, and he contributed nothing to the process. Excellent Doctor - first rate in every way! Very thorough and able to see the bigger picture (I guess some would say holistic). I have to say I agree with the other positive reviewers - the negative reviewers must have had an off day or two, and judging by the text they left I would assume they were already upset about something (read between the lines!), and took it out on their poor doctor!. Also, notice that at least one seems to have lost the medicare checks they were supposed to use to pay Dr Nemirov - or is Medicare lying about sending them? You decide. I find those negative reviews on Dr. Nemirov and Sylvia to be quite---negative! Sylvia is very compassionate, kind and funny. She is helpful and smiley. You see, I have had the opposite experience with her than the "negatives" have had. As for Dr. Nemirov-he has a dry sense of humour and is a no nonsense type of Dr. He has been very patient with me, when I have not always followed his advice, like taking my blood pressure pills as i should. If I do not make an appt. for a blood pressure check or my annual physical, the office will not renew my prescriptions until I MAKE that appt. They will renew that day, as long as i make an appt.!!!!!! That is their way of taking care of me when I don't take care of myself... Dr. Nemirov is very matter of fact in his approach. it works for me. He is very kind, like not MAKING me get on the scale. he gets his point across, whether he knows how much I weigh or not. I am starting to babble, but wish to get the point across that all of us have different personalities and we need to understand those personalities. He does not baby me, but he does--in his way... Give the office a try. Dr Nemirov was recommended to me years ago by a friend of mine who was a head nurse at O'Conner hospital and had observed him many times at the hospital with his patients. Dr. Nemirov is our primary care physician for over a decade now and we found him to be high knowledgeable, open to helping us navigate through our medical problems, and very informative about the conditions and treatments. He also has a good network of specialists who have been top notch in my interactions with them. Dr. Nemirov is a big proponent of preventive medicine and he is not shy to speak the truth when it benefits you, the patient. The office staff is courteous and responsive. read more

I was referred to Dr. Nemirov by a friend for a long running internal pain. I had already seen one doctor and was misdiagnosed. Over the course of three day Dr. Nemirov kept searching until it was found I had a life and death issue that required immediate surgery and a weeklong hospital stay. While in the hospital I was surprised to have a daily morning visit from Dr. Nemirov who not only asked questions but actually took vitals and examined me. I don't know about these other posts on here about him, but I will tell you that anyone that says he doesn't care should get a smack. He literally saved my life! Dr. Nemirov has got to be the rudest doctor on earth...he is a travesty to the profession of medicine!! His staff is very cold, as well...almost to the point of being hostile. My mother had the displeasure of being Dr. Nemirov's patient - thankfully, for only a brief period of time. He is extremely tactless, with absolutely no bedside manner. When my mother was hospitalized, many of the nurses disliked Dr. Nemirov, as well. He wanted to starve my mother, even though she was fully coherent! Dr. Nemirov kept saying, "she's not worth it" because he lacked the knowlege to know what to do. Dr. Nemirov seems to have a chip on his shoulder and does not like the challenge of taking care of someone who is ill. I honestly think that he does not like people - period! Dr. Nemirov is extremely intelligent, competent, and up-to-date on current medical issues and how to deal with them. One of his great assets is his wonderful "bedside manner." He seems to really care about his patients' health and really listens. I rarely feel rushed. If I bring up other problems, he listens attentively and addresses them accordingly. I am shocked by the negative reviews for Dr. N and his staff. I have been a patient of his for over 10 years and always felt like he was caring and a good listener. He was great with my mom, too -- even visited her at the Assisted living Facility she was in. He has treated me well and provided excellent care and follow ups for me. His staff are always supportive and pleasant as well. i don't even feel rushed out of the office or not listened to. I will continue to see Dr. Nemirov as my primary care physician. read more

Once again Dr. Nemirov took my mother from very ill to health again. Although we had "self diagnosed" my mom (we were all wrong) he was 100% accurate right out of the gate and brought her back to health. Dr. Steven Nemirov has been my Dr. for a number of years now. At last I have a Dr. that is caring, professional and knows his stuff. He always provided great care and annual physicals, giving me good life-style choice advice. He was diligent in making me take a colonoscopy (without being pushy). Eventually I found time to do so, and the results showed several pre-cancerous polyps. He referred me to a great surgeon and we got it sorted with a partial colectomy. I had a 40% chance of dying from colon cancer in 10-15 years time. This Dr. and his recommended surgeon saved my life! Like another commenter I too had a past-due bill that I'd forgotten about. No heavy handedness for me - just a gentle reminder and it was sorted. I really dislike it when folks complain that they are being chased on payments. If you owe a bill, pay it! Honesty is always the best policy in my mind! Doctor Nemirov is thoroughly recommended by me and my family. read more

Only God get's five stars----I've been a patient of Dr Nemirov for going on 2 decades and I'm still here to talk about it--I have a yearly physical and visit a time or two during the year with the usual common ailments that most of us face.I feel that Doctor Nemirov possesses an exceedingly self assured but kind personalty. Could he be a little more warm and fuzzy? Perhaps. But I don't expect that. I expect a well trained and knowledgeable physician.For warm and fuzzy--- I have a Labrador at home----I always feel confident after an appointment that my body has been observed and checked by a physician of merit.There have been occasions throughout the years that he has suggested I seek the care of a specialist for the appropriate body part or ailment. Never have I been disappointed in the direction he sent me---In my opinion a good general practitioner is very similar to a detective.
