For years we have done them ourselves on TurboTax, but we expect they might be more complicated next year - so, as a test, we tried Buffalo Run for 2024 on a recommendation from someone. We very much regret that we did that. They emailed us on the afternoon of Friday, April the 11th, saying that they would not be able to get our taxes completed by the deadline on the 15th, and recommended we be sure to just pay to the IRS what we owed for taxes last year. Oh, and don't worry, "we wont charge you for filing the extension". Not even a phone call from them. They get a grade of FAIL from me. Very dissatisfied.

I travel for work and prefer to have a local CPA/Tax professional. When I moved to Denver, I saw…read morethe reviews and was excited to work with Ngyuen's CPA company. While I did attempt to have my taxes filed at the deadline I was under the expectation it would be filed in a timely matter and short term penalty I was ok with. Disappointingly it was filed 5 months later with a tax penalty of $3500... Understanding the average tax pricing and what they charge, I'd be cautious to file here with lack of communication and failure to meet to expectations.

Paid him (William (Bill) Houston) ahead of time for my 2015 return (I have record of payment) but…read morehe refused to give me the return unless I paid him again. When I forwarded him his email showing that I did pay he told me I'm trying to get it for free and raised the price an additional $60 for no reason then suggested I just go pay H&R block $200 for it instead. I showed up to his office and paid him cash, essentially in ransom, for my return. This guy failed to mail me the return that I paid for and then charged me again for it. He also told me I'd be getting $1200 more than I actually received on my return (because he made a copy paste error). This guy is a criminal, I told him I want to spit in his face after I paid him a second time for my return. I would have fought it but I've been through so much stress this year that I just wanted to get out of his office. He didn't even give me my change.

PEOPLE: Take note because my review today should let you know all you need to know about this…read morebusiness and specifically, owner BILL HOUSTON... Very simply and in the same real process that anyone would take... I searched for tax preparer firms in Aurora and ran across this company. I stated my situation clearly and honestly and requested this business to assist me with my 2015, 2016 and 2017 taxes. * Without calling me to speak with me about my tax situation and without any other qualifying email, text or anything, I get the following obnoxiously judgmental response from the owner himself. Here is exactly what owner, BILL HOUSTON said in his email back to me: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "From: Bill Houston [mailto:bill@afsnodebt.com] Sent: Monday, April 16, 2018 10:41 AM Subject: RE: NOTIFICATION - Customer has filled out the Quote Form How much you wanna bet that this guy had no renters in 2017 and is trying to deduct repairs to his home prior to selling. Might be a bit cynical but... Oh, and the moving expenses with no wage income." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How's that for reaching out to a supposedly professional business just to have them serve as Judge and Jury on your private financial tax situation when they have not bothered to confirm even one fact from your request? I call B.S. on this business and on BILL HOUSTON as being nothing more than a jaded and judgmental fool. AVOID HIM AND HIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS because after all, you'd be sharing your most intimate financial record details with him and look how he responds BEFORE he even talks with you... irrefutably foolish on his part! There is no apologizing for such a response because customers reaching out to a business like this should never have to babysit the owner for acting in such an obnoxious and careless manner in the first place, right?... RIGHT! Done... next! P.S. - Funny thing to note... what kind of moron speaks in this tone and who does he think he's talking to, himself? He doesn't even address me, the person who emailed him in the first place. He's talking to "the air" or something... IDIOT!

My wife and I have been ABL&Co small business and individual tax clients since 2021. I cannot tell…read moreyou how happy we were to finally find "our" accountants in Colorado. The team at ABL&Co is knowledgeable, professional, and they are true partners for us and our small business. They are great at what they do, and we've also learned a lot from their expertise. Also, we switched to ABL&Co after working with a couple other accountants in the Denver metro area--it was a true night and day change. They handle monthly bookkeeping and payroll for our small business that supports 18 people, along with our complicated annual personal tax return that includes stock grants, rental properties, many W-2s and 1099s, and a whole lot more. Whatever we throw at ABL&Co, they handle it with incredible attention to detail, which we previously learned is not the case with many other accountants in the area. If you've had that experience in the past, your money life will be drastically better working with ABL&Co. Since we started with ABL&Co, our small business has grown from 4 to 18 people, and all their work has been critical to our ability to expand the business with confidence. While we do the small business work on our end, their insights and experience guide our decisions and have helped us keep things on track through all the highs and lows of owning a fast-growing small business. When I say they've been a partner to us, I really mean that. Also, we make a point to work with people who we genuinely enjoy working with. The team at ABL&Co is friendly, responsive, and always treats us like we're their most important client. If you're looking for accountants for your business, contact ABL&Co. You'll be so happy (and maybe VERY relieved in some cases) that you also found your accountants in the Denver area.
