From Emily, who is one of the Dental Hygienist there to Dr. Shah and Dr. Moses, I'm always felt taken care of like I'm family. I was there for my biannual checkup a few weeks back and Emily was so thorough in my checkup and made sure she paid attention to my concerns unlike other places I've been to who simply dismissed the issues I've made them aware of. Emily even made sure to give me a heads up about the water temperature before the cleaning as I was the first patient of the day while providing a few laugh out loud moments during my time there. Dr. Shah who is my main Dentist always makes sure I'm good and contstantly provides me updates on my Dental health. Unlike other places who try to "upsale" procedures and try to force you to do things (sometimes unnecessarily), Dr. Shah doesn't do that! However, he let's me know if something should be addressed right away versus monitoring which allows me the opportunity to make the best decisions based on my timelines and finances. Dr. Shah is someone who is warm, kind and understanding which makes going to the dentist less stressful. Even Dr. Moses who has treated me while Dr. Shah was unavailable has provided the same type of warmth and caring. The office is modern, clean and up to date with the latest. You will not be disappointed! From the staff at the front to my care team being a patient at Downtown Dental has been a great experience.

Clearly no one wants to go to the dentist but it doesn't even feel like your in a dentist office when you are here. They explained everything very clearly and made sure I understood and answered all my questions and were not in a rush at all. People are so petrified to go to the dentist and I think this practice tries to be compassionate so people come in for all their check-ups without worrying so much. They even coordinated with my old dentist in Texas and ensured I got replacement retainers now that I live in Brooklyn without charging me a thing. They just said "That's what we're here for!" What a relief! I will never go to another dentist!

But I'm not shocked i came here and found more reviews than some restaurants have at such a high avg. Such is the ridiculous quality of care here--they go the extra yard for you, and you just want to reciprocate. I've had only one check up here (referred by my girlfriend, a longtime satisfied patient). it was simple, thorough, straightforward--no cavities or anything, so no major work. But the level of attention and smoothness of whole experience what we all think every medical appointment experience should be like, but unfortunately rarely is. Having my records transferred from previous dentist took one email... no follow-up, no five phone calls for confirmation, no lack of follow up... just made the request and they confirmed almost immediately. For my appointment, I met two separate techs who introduced themselves, explained everything (first visit, extra x-rays), asked questions and listened. Apologized several times that dentist was away and that they would fill him in. For follow up I had an email exchange from Dr. Dressel, apologizing for absence, giving his impression of x-rays and asking if any concerns on my end. We exchanged several emails... I was just flabbergasted--I don't remember the last time i received a non-form email from an actual doctor or dentist before. Tl;dr--come here -- you'll receive far better care and more attention from a doctor and staff than I imagine you are accustomed to.

My insurance hasn't changed, I even called the insurance company to verify in front of the receptionist on speaker and was in fact verified. After nearly 2 hours of waiting a doctor came down to tell me to reschedule. I can't express the level of frustration I experienced here - the complete lack of effort and mindless service was inadmissible. They need to get better help and service representatives who actually try to help their patients and not roll their eyes and tell a patient it's not their job to verify my insurance. Don't be fooled by their decor and facade, it's a show and it does not make up for their incompetent service team. Hire better staff who can take responsibility and help. Repurpose that receptionist to another position that doesn't have to be front facing, she clearly does not like her job.

My appointment was confusing and disappointing and no actual treatment was delivered…read more A very kind, good guy named Augustus tried to help me maneuver through the overly complicated layers of information I was given today and did his best to help me get care, but in the end -- I'm still left feeling like Tend won't clean my teeth until they can charge more for it? Or something? I was recommended to a periodontal specialist. I wasn't aware that I'd need to do that in order to get any further regular cleanings. If I knew it was NEEDED before I could get a regular cleaning I might have been better about prioritizing my time and medical costs. I was supposed to have a cleaning and check-up in December to stay on schedule. I ended up in the hospital and couldn't go but the system thought I went and getting a new appointment through email, then phone wasn't that simple. 5 Months later I went in hoping for a cleaning and check up. I was told I needed a deeper more expensive cleaning. I sat there while they tried to find out if my insurance would cover it. I was there for an hour while they checked my insurance. I tried to understand why I couldn't get cleaned today regularly and deal with the other treatments later they couldn't say anything except it was "for my health benefit or protection" or something. The dentist also basically said "this is what happens if you don't come in regularly" and I was like..... "I've been trying...." Anyway -- that's a tale as long as a root canal and as sore as a toothache and really who cares. I'm mostly disappointed because I have such a hard time at the dentist with pain and when I first started at Tend I thought it was the best, most caring place ever .... but now they are saying I can't get cleaned unless I do all these other things which is just so odd so I guess we're breaking up. anyway. go but if anything happens that slightly alters your ability to be any kind of regular patient.... be warned it won't be easy to correct.

As someone who fully appreciates a well-run team it's great to watch this very efficient group work together. It's clear that everyone there loves what they do and that is doing the best dental work that they can while always making sure that the patient is happy, healthy and comfortable. The team at Dentistry at The Heights takes their work up to a level of an art form. I don't just mean the results - which, like I said, are excellent - but I mean the act of working together in an office setting. From the first person who ever greeted me there - Naila - every interaction has been a pleasure and every member of the team is working together to constantly make sure I get what I need at every moment. Demetria is a very skillful assistant and a great caretaker. Rosa is always making sure everything is right with my cosmetic treatments. Aska is a cheerful hygienist. Dr. Trotter, the maestro, sets the tone and does phenomenal work while being slightly over-concerned with my comfort. None of this could have been possible without Kate (not sure if she's still there) who worked out a payment plan with me so that I could do invisiline and is supremely knowledgable about insurance, always crunching the numbers so that my employer coverage goes as far as it can. I'm very happy to have found this practice and look forward to continuing treatment from this top-notch team.
